aragwen, can you send me your chat log?  I don't think we'll get to meet in-game and talk about this due to our time-zone differences, and I'd still like to know what my characters knows.  If you're willing to send me your log I'll send you a PM with my email address - don't use the one in my profile it's for spam only.

If you have time later this evening I will quite happily meet you to try and fill in the gaps.
It is not something I would like to discuss on the forums pages.
I will keep an eye out for you ingame. If we are unable to meet I could also send you my chat log file if you want to read through that, but I think there is certain things you will still not understand even if you have read the logs files, which Jacc might be able to explain.
  Regards Aragwen
Sounds good.  I'll be able to log-in in like 30 minutes.  I'll send you a tell in-game and see if you're free.

My suggestion is to ask in-game. I know it's not your character's personality to do so, but what happened tonight, and the events that led up to it, are major plot things, and that's best shared in-game and in-character.

Normally I would agree.  Stuff like this should be RPed in-game.  Though the info I asked about is info my character experienced first hand.  Saw with her own eyes.  Her player, me :), didn't get to see it though due to lag.  At one point I was ready to leave the group and head back to West due to the issues I was having.  OneST8 asked me if I really wanted to leave, so I told him why I wanted to.  In the end I decided to stay and ask questions about this quest on the forums.  OneST8 thought that was a good idea, so there's my questions. :)  Questions that my characters knows to answers to, but me the player doesn't.

Have you tried with lowering visual effects ("quality")?

I'm sometimes doing it myself when noticing heavy lag due to high amount of players at the same place.

heh.. I had everything turned off and was using the 16 Meg texture pack.  My lag problems were probably caused by my connection/LAN.  When my client wasn't freezing my FPS never dropped below 40.

Also, as Dorg suggested, by DnD standards, 10 is average. Beyond 20 in any attribute is considered superhuman.

Ah thanks.  I've been wondering this myself.  I always considered average whatever the base stats are for a race before you add to them.  If 10 is Huam average then what is the average stats for the other races?

Development Journals and Discussion / RE: Thoughts of a Nameless Druid
« on: March 06, 2006, 07:45:21 pm »
As she sits down in the Ragner's Vale next to the Leopard she thinks back to the conversation that she just had with Luna.

I wonder if I broke her heart by saying those words.  I've been fighting those thoughts for so long now.. hiding them from her.  I knew that once she really found out my true feelings that it might push her away from me.  She has shown me no sigh that they have, but when I spoke them she was really upset.  I know my love though.  She'll stay with me for awhile more trying to change me back to the person she first met.

She reaches over and pets the Leopard under his chin.  The Leopard purrs at her touch and gently lays down next to her and rests his head in her lap.

She doesn't know though that these dark thoughts have been with me since I was still a child.  In the past I have been able to push them aside.  Now though it's different.  Ever since we talked with the Dark Father I've been questioning if a passive approch in Nature's protection is really working.  People take me and Luna as some type of joke.  They mock us all the time by calling us Tree Huggers, and I've had it.  I think it's time to take a more active stance.  Time to show these people Nature's fury; show them just how cruel and ruthless Nature really is.  Maybe they'll come to respect the life she's given us after a few thousand die.

My love thinks it still best of we educate people.  Help them understand why it's important maintain a balance with Nature.  I finally found the courage to tell her that what she's doing isn't working.  I all but told her that she's a failure.  People don't care.  She can rant all she wants.  In the end these same people will just laugh at her and call her a Tree Hugger while disregarding her wisdom.  I say let them stay stuipd and ignorant.  Let them die because of their stupidity.  Evolution is all about survival of the fittest, and stupid people tend to not survive in Nature.  To me the answer is simple.  Let these stuipd people die.  Maybe even hepl Nature out by removing a few of them.  In the end it will only help Nature evolve.

She feels a cold tingle coming from the pack on her back.  She smiles and gently lifts the Leopards head out of her lap and stands up and walks away.[/i]

General Discussion / Re: Vote and give Feedback on NWVault

I think NWVault has the absolute worst voting system ever. I have NEVER been able to vote on their system. Sometimes, like now, it just simply won't work. I can write comments and vote all day and none of them show up. *sighs*

The same thing just happened to me.  I clicked on Vote Now and it took me down to the bottom of the page to write a comment.  So I figured you had to wrtie something before the voting page came up.  So I wrote out a mini-review outlining why I was giving Layonara the vote I planned on to.  And then hit submit once I was done...and nothing.  It just posted my comment with the rest.  I think you have to register to vote or something.

General Discussion / Re: What D&D Character are you?
« on: February 27, 2006, 10:04:51 pm »
Alignment:
Chaotic Neutral characters are unstable, and frequently insane. They believe in disorder first and foremost, and will thus strive for that disorder in everything they do. This means that they will do whatever seems 'fun' or 'novel' at any given time.

Race:
Dwarves are short and stout, and easily recognizable by their well-cared-for beards. They are hard workers, and adept at stonework and engineering. They tend to live apart from other races; generally in deep, underground excavated systems, and as such tend to be distant from other races.

Primary Class:
Druids are a special variety of Cleric who serves the Earth, and can call upon the power in the earth to accomplish their goals. They tend to be somewhat fanatical about defending natural settings.

Secondary Class:
Rangers are the defenders of nature and the elements. They are in tune with the Earth, and work to keep it safe and healthy.

General Discussion / Re: Question about commands
« on: February 27, 2006, 10:50:19 am »
I don't know if there's a list anywhere, and I know very few commands myself.  So I'll tell you what I know and hopefully more people will add to it.  /p - Is used to talk in party mode. /t "" - Is used to tell a person.  You can also click on a players avatar in the dialog window for a shortcut. /accept - Is use to accept an invitation to join a party. /w - Is used to whisper /dm - Is used to talk in the DM channel.

Roleplaying / Re: Aggressive Druid and Rping towards animals

However, it is when one hunts TOO much or, even worse, when one hunts and does not use what they kill. THAT will send a Druid into a fury. At least my Druid. Which brings me to my next point....

Or you'll have Druids like mine that know that the kill won't be wasted.  There are animals out there that feed off of carrion, and my Druid plays off of that.  She does get angry when she sees people neeslessly kill, but overall she's relatively passive about it.

My best advise to you is RP questions like these in-game.  Your character is still young in the ways of Druidism (is that even a word?) afterall, and it wouldn't hurt to seek out wiser Druids for him to learn from.  The only problem with that is there aren't too many people that play Druids.  I'll tell you what though; the next time I see your Druid on-line I'll send you a tell and see if we can't setup a meeting.
