Character Submissions / Exotic Race Submissions - read here first.
« on: July 08, 2016, 11:12:40 am »
As of right now Exotic Race applications are now re-opened!We will be placing a few restrictions on their submission though, in an effort to keep these characters sufficiently rare to reflect their uniqueness in the world. These restrictions apply to the following races:Wemics
Brownies
Dark Elves
Sea ElvesHalf-orcs, half-giants and half-ogres are no longer viable as PCs, as they would have to start adventuring at too old an age. Please read the following guidelines for exotic race submissions:-Submissions for exotic races will be limited in number to one(1) per person per month and four(4) per month total.
-Three(3) days prior to the end of the month a random date and time will be selected for the opening of submissions for the following month. A d4 will be rolled to indicate the date (so submissions will always open within the first four days of the month) and a d24 will be rolled for the time, always quoted in GMT to avoid confusion (so a roll of 13 would be 1pm GMT). The time will be announced in this thread.
-The first four posts, according to their time stamp, will be the submissions reviewed. The others will be given five days for the submitter to save their work, and then deleted to keep the forum organized.
-The threads will also be numbered 1-4, to indicate which thread gets priority in review; 1 being first in line, 4 being last.
This system was devised to limit the flow of exotic characters in to the world, and to give all time zones the fairest chance of getting their submission in first. The policy may be amended if a more efficient process is identified and agreed upon.I also would like to note that exotic races are still subject to the RP consequences that NPCs of the same race are. Namely, rampant hatred, bigotry and/or animosity from the "common" races. That being said, have a great time!Cheers,Gilshem

Layonara Server / Character Submission Process Changes - September 2011
« on: September 19, 2011, 10:41:25 pm »
Greetings Layonara,

I am writing you on behalf of the Character Approvals Team and in conjunction with the changes happening server wide. Over the years we have given little (and not so little) tune-ups to the CA process, trying to find away to make the requirement of pre-approval work for the majority of people. We've taken feedback to heart and attempted to scale back certain obtrusive aspects to the process while balancing overall needs and have only met partial success. Striving to find a better version of policies, we have taken a large step back and looked at things from a different angle entirely.

What is outlined below is a result of that different viewpoint. The changes, in some ways aren't much, but in other places they are quite huge. All of these changes, together, are designed to return the world to a policy that promotes the focus on roleplay. While exploration, crafting and accumulation of experience are all part of our experience, the focus is returns more fully to character development through roleplay.  Lore will be the primary focus of the character application process. Rarely will mechanical detail hold up applications, but lore must be compliant. Here is an outline of the changes:

 General procedure goals and statements:

 - The CA Team's main goal will scale back to what is most important for the biographies, and indeed the world: Lore. If something does not fit with current lore, it will be held up until there is an appropriate change (or compromise in a few cases).

 - CAs will no longer ask for justification of class, development of an alignment nor expansion on a race except for those that are listed as special (Wemic, Brownie, Ghostwise Halflings, Sea Elf, Dark Elf or Goblin). Those biographies that include details that are CONTRARY to alignment, class or race will be held up where lore becomes an issue. (No wizards gaining innate power and lacking the need for study. No humans with elf traits. No Lawful Good characters lopping off heads out of rage.)

 - Resubmissions for basic classes have a new set of rules. Any scrutiny will be lore based but there are level related restrictions (for lore reasons). For clarity, 'basic class' is any of the standard classes except cleric, paladin, druid or monk due to issue of lore or long standing multiclass restrictions.
 • Multiclassing with a basic class at level seven or below will only require a resubmission request. No CDT, no proof of training, supporting documentation. The resubmission will require only an updated biography blurb in the request. (Johanson wants to add rogue levels to his fighter class because he's been studying on how to attack more effectively. The new split will be 5/15.)
 • Multiclassing with a basic class between levels eight and fourteen, will require either a maintained CDT, a PC trainer or a CDQ. This choice is up to the requesting player but they will have to abide by the needs of their choice. If opting for a CDQ, some minimal RP/Lore justification will be needed.
 • Multiclassing for basic class at level fifteen (the last point at which anything can be added before level twenty) will require a CDQ and either a maintained CDT or a PC trainer.
 • Multiclassing after level twenty will begin to require more in depth attention from the CA team as this is much like turning over a new leaf in the life of a person. A maintained CDT or PC trainer are a must.
 • Multiclassing with a basic class from level thirty on will -not- be approved without a supporting WLDQ.
 • PrC multiclasing will remain the same.
Other changes we are making, exclusively geared toward new players/accounts:
New forum accounts, regardless of if they are simply alternate accounts for current players or whole new people, will be limited to the following for the first approved character:
-Races are restricted to basic elf, basic dwarf, basic halfling, human and basic gnome. No subraces.
-Character class is restricted to Barbarian, Bard, Fighter, Monk, Rogue, Ranger, Sorcerer and Wizard.
-The character's alignment is restricted to CG, NG, LG, LN and TN.
-New players are eligible for resubmission for with the original character or with a new character after two weeks of active game time.
-The Character Stable will still be an open option to new brand accounts.

The intent behind these restrictions has nothing to do with a prejudgment of new player's ability to correctly play a class, alignment or race. What it does is require new players to focus purely on the lore of Layonara, which is vast and unique compared to many places. The limitations placed will hopefully help simplify entrance into the world in effort and gaining expediency. They will hopefully limit the frustration many people have expressed about being required to know lore that they feel they don't have proper access to. Once in the world and experiencing things first hand, the rest of the opportunities open up.

Some notes related to these changes:

Gilshem Ironstone is the new CA Team Leader. He, Pibemanden and Geloooo will be working the majority of applications. Ycleption, if she should get a chance to return to us, still holds a spot on the CA team (at least for now).

There may be a rare instance here and there where a GM will step in to help out but this will be only under certain circumstances which we will not list. An example of such would be, if two or more CA team members are unable to fulfill their duties for a period of time due to RL obligations and the remaining CA requires assistance.

Your GM Team will still be a part of the process on the back end of things. Giving council, clarification and testimony will remain a part of what we do to help. We will be focusing our attention other places instead (elaborated upon in other posts).

Some upcoming reform and projects for the CA Team/process:

Our Class and PrC descriptions will be updated on LORE to be Layo-centric. A lot of what is on LORE for descriptions now are stock NWN descriptions of things and long have been out of sync with the server's core lore. This confusing factor will be rectified in the coming weeks (though we do not have an exact ETA.)

We have some additional avenues for advancement and training coming to the server that will relate back to how the CA Team can work with people to gain desired classes, alignments and deity relationships (among other things) and encourage roleplay.

Our documentation on the process of submitting a character for approval will be brought up to current both on the forums and in LORE. We do ask that you be patient with us as we go through this adjustment. Please keep in mind that we are working with several people to make this change over with clarity and thoroughness.

We hope that all of the changes bring a more meaningful and less stressful experience to the world as a whole.

 Regards,
 The Character Approvals Team

General Discussion / TO ALL WL Quest event participators:
« on: September 04, 2011, 12:52:12 pm »
I have posted this and emailed and PMed this in other places, but I am going to make a general announcement.

I had to put the WL Quest on hold. I have something pending for Layonara that is taking up ALL of my available time at the moment. Until that is absolved I CANNOT deal with the WL event. Please stop pushing each other for information that I have not had the chance to pass out to anyone because it's causing a bunch of people to get annoyed and worse. Since people are getting so bent out of shape over this, I am putting an 'until further notice' flag on this.

It's really fabulous that people are wanting to be involved and are playing it up between quests but it needs to be scaled back due to the GM not being able to participate. You don't have to pretend like it's not happening but please stop irritating each other as that doesn't help anyone, most especially me, get anything done faster. Feel welcome to wrack up a ton of questions for me to answer but please don't expect an answer back (from anyone) until such time that I say I'm answering questions again.

Just remember, it's fine (as far as I'm concerned) to take this development seriously but it is not okay to upset other people, especially when the problem is completely out of the control of the player. You are welcome to be as irritated at me as you like, as long as it's up front and you are accepting that I have only so many hours in a day. Rest assured that I am taking notes about all of this as I move forward with this experiment and if anything like it is attempted again, and that's a big if at this point, these things will be taken into account. This kind of project takes a huge time investment and it's probably just not something any GM will have the capacity for in the future. Please, please be patient with us and your fellows.

Regards,
~row

The Dragon Storm Campaign / Honor, Conquest and Silent Suffering....
« on: August 05, 2011, 04:32:37 am »
In war torn regions it is always a bright spot when heroes  are celebrated and the world is given a chance to breath easy and think the best of some. This was of course no less true in war torn Belinara despite dynamically opposed powers vieing for control of the land, and indeed, themselves. On a bitterly cold day in Hilm, in the outer courtyard of the castle bearing the same name, hundreds upon hundreds gathered together to do just that: Think the best of some.

Dressed in full regalia, Lord Alexandar stood full honors for a collection of people who, at first glance, seemed nothing but  a rag-tag bunch of riffraff. Frankly, in amongst the near blinding crowd of plated soldiers and brightly dressed people of the land, the honorees stood out more for their oddness than heroic appearance. It didn't matter, not to them, nor to those who celebrated them. It was too easy to remember the battles here, too easy  to remember all they had done for the people of Hilm and indeed, the world.

Called forth each in turn: Mysterious G'ork, Stout Kromlek Stormaxe and Gunder Harbist, and the Rough Looking Vrebel were presented with the Honorary Captain in Hilm Protectorate. Each was regaled with excerpts of battles their peers recalled on the fateful day the Cult was turned back from Hilm Castle. Standing proud (either feigned or real), shouts of many a cheerful reward (usually in the form of alcohol) is offered from their fellows.

Jillseponie Kendall, the lithe elf of unknown years, is honored as Scout Warden of Hilm Protectorate. Well meaning jeers are sent through the crowd, calling for the dwarf hidden in her pouches to do her heavy hitting. In truth, this is probably the only place such things would be said for there were too many targets for the formidable woman to hit before she was taken down in retaliation. Instead she only  quirked a sharp brow in the general direction before  cheers went up on her behalf.

Each is penned in true military style and greeted with the customary call, the motto of Hilm. “Protect, Defend, Endure, Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!” Repeated throughout the courtyard in a booming chant, that seems as if it should rattle the rubble and crenelations of the castle walls. The sharp of ear and familiar to the regions of Belinara would catch the dialects and other languages adding to the call of  the victorious.

At the end of the ceremony, a touching eulogy is read by members of the standing army who witnessed the fall of Chaynce Baldu'muur. His final hours are recounted to the soldiers, describing him as an honorable man with a sharp  tongue and firm resolve. It was remembered that his last breath was taken in the arms of his lady, the proud Lady Daniella Stormhaven. It was remembered that he never flinched and asked little.

Also remembered was Sallaron Tempest. Early when the world barely cared about the domination of  Kuhl's boarders Sallaron began touching on the powers that  would eventually matter in the final hours. Wherever  he lay, wherever his family be, they are thought of with honored blessings from a crowed of  battle hardened, thankful, soldiers.

 ------------

The brews flowed in Hilm, Lord Alexandar tapping some of the barrels long reserved for celebrations such as this. While he partook little he encouraged those o f h is staff to celebrate and be merry. The weathered and weary look on his square face said what did not need saying on a day such as this. That there are too few of them in these times was a  thought all knew and few spoke so as not  to ruin the mood of their peers.

Deep within a pack of Toranites, Azk'a is called on to recount many a tale of battling those scaley green  (censored). There is more than celebration in the eyes of these men as they listen to Azk'a detail the weaknesses the Cult's toughest and fearsome soldiers. Honor and not little awe reflected in their faces.

Another elf, this a wild thing in contrast to Jillesponie's immaculate presence, threw back brews with the best of the dwarves and humans, able to drink no few under the table. “And let me tell you! Those boarders thick with them.  Still, with the right kind of paper,” he paused and rubbed to coins in between his thumb and forefinger to indicate the kind of 'paper'  he meant, “You could get in past 'em. That was just the outer rims though. Inside... Inside deep it was another matter and thank the  gods for my willing conspirators...” He shook  his head and continued on to tell about some of the braver merchants willing to stick their necks out on his behalf to bring back that crucial information outside the boarders...

 ----------------------------------------------

Somewhere deep within Kuhl on that same day posters of yet another elf were being put up. Fair faced and slight, Elohanna's likeness was posted on Kuhl message boards the country over. Over her head the letters marked the leader's wrath, the damnation of the frail creature. Fifty  thousand true, a sum enough to feed the largest of families for generations, it said. Fifty thousand true for her lifeless body at the feet of the Cult's masters.... Sharp eyes memorized  her features, taking in all they could and hating her.

In the back rooms where those not blinded by the Cult's message, her name is breathed with honor. She, the elvish woman who  defeated the taint within her body... The embodiment that the Cult could be defeated....

 ----------------------------------------

Sitting on rock faced cliffs, like so  many cliché bitter gulls, a small group of Stormbringers shared their exploits from Audria's battle. Each built upon the one before, talking up the battle with glee... A name is spoken among them with inflections of honor though he could be a threat just as easily. Hardragh. They would remember him and watch his progress....

 ---------------------------------------------

In the weeks following the battle of Hilm Castle, the diet returned to her place in Lor. It was the place she should be, and the city shuddered and flustered like an irritated bird just before settling as the tall blond woman walked through the streets. Just beside her, the dark elf, companion strode easily enough. None would ever say it to her face, but behind her they called her the Diet's shadow, dark and dangerous in all the ways a shadow is deceitful and poisonous. But not everyone is blinded by the justifiable distrust. Some know her for all she sacrificed, some know her for her pure strength of character and power.

Too they know the true depth of Diet Angela's power, that she was the protagonist in their side of the story. Her deeds in the war, despite Lor's small  part in it, were murmured in even the dark places of the city and the world beyond it's  docks. The two women would be remembered for their parts as well. For now the wise and gullible alike scattered out of their path like settling feathers.....

Layonara Server / Now Taking Gamemaster Applications!!
« on: June 10, 2011, 03:19:01 am »
Hello Layonara Community!

It has come around to that time again, where we look around for interested individuals to help grow the Layonaran experience for the community as a whole. If you are interested in giving back to the community that has provided you with countless hours of entertainment, this is one way to make that happen! Below are listed the qualifications, the required duties and the list of questions that we'll need answered so that we can evaluate if you are a good match for the world. Please take some time to consider all of these if you are interested in becoming a Gamemaster for Layonara.

Quote
Gamemaster Qualifications:

You qualify for GM application if you meet the following:

• If you have been a community member in good standing for at least four (4) months
• If you can work well on a team but can also take independent initiative
• If you act responsibly both individually and within teams
• If you understand both the rules and the spirit of the server
• If you enforce the spirit and rules of the server when necessary
• If you communicate well in text in an online environment.
• If you can commit to perform GM Duties as either a part time or full time GM
Quote
Gamemaster Duties:

You will need to be able to commit to ALL the following:
 •   Commit to the Author-Publisher Agreement. This means the rights to what you write, run as a quest or otherwise provide in your time as GM belongs to Layonara. You will be required to sign off on this and supply the document to Layonara. This is required to protect Layonara Studios and all of our community members.
 • Run impromptus, CDQs and quests, reward RP, assist players in game, or otherwise be active in game with your GM avatar (Part time: 1 hour/week ; Full time: 2 hours/week)
 •   Properly research and include world lore for events that require it. This can require that certain kinds of quests be written up and approved by head team members (such as EdtheKet and Leanthar) prior to running them.
 •   Communicate any long term absences from the world to the team, ahead of time if possible. “Long term absences” is defined as more than two weeks consecutive where you will not be able to reached for any reason. (We certainly understand that emergencies happen and for our enlisted members, you don't always get that opportunity. In case of the latter, please make us aware in your application that this is a possibility.)
 •  Write up quests after they are completed with detailed information for tracking.
 • Check the forums regularly for GM specific content. (Part time: at least 2 times/week ; Full time: at least 5 times/week)
 •  Spend at least 2 hours per month working to help the team and community on IRC or forums (e.g. Character approvals, disputes and grievances, answering questions, moderating forums or IRC, providing other assistance to GMs or Players).
 • Participate in GM team discussions (these are largely forum based). Examples include discussion of changes to policy, weighing in on World Leader eligibility, and communicating various issues to the staff as a whole.
 • Keep appropriate records of character profiling, player interactions, etc.
 • Communicate with individual players who may need help understanding the rules or spirit of the server.
Application Questions
(please answer in a response in this thread)
1. How long have you been a member of Layonara?  (The minimum is four (4) months of active time in the community.)

2. Are you applying as a part time or full time quest GM?

3. Why do you want to be a GM team member in Layonara?

4. Please describe any GM experience, including any NWN GMing experience. GMing experience, digitally or PnP style is not a prerequisite for a GM position!

5. Please read carefully through the GM team duties and qualifications, if you have not already. This community has always supported the ethic of 'real life comes first' but we will need to know, realistically, if your real life can support your interest and commitment to the world. Please describe, either Layonaran or real life, responsibilities that may conflict with your Gamemaster commitments. Membership to other teams such as LORE or Character Approvals are examples of Layonaran commitments.

6. Please submit an example quest in a PM (addressed to EdtheKet, Rowana and Dorganath). Your quest should be a brief outline of the set up and expected important events during your quest. Please include a few foreseeable side paths players might take and your intentions for working with players on those initiatives. This should be a quest you could run if you are accepted as a GM, though it is by no means required. Your sample quest summary should be between 300 and 500 words in length. Summaries less than 300 or more than 500 words will not be considered and you will be asked to submit again with the proper word length. Applicants without a quest submitted to the Team by the deadline will not be considered during this pass.

The applications will close on June 30th, 2011, Midnight Eastern Daylight Time. All qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview by July 5th, 2011. Interviews will take place either in game or via IRC. Interviews must be final by July 20th, 2011, in order to offer invites to new GMs in a timely manner.

We look forward to hearing from you all!

 The GM Team

Rumour Has It / The End of Hlint's Quarantine
« on: May 19, 2011, 02:02:39 am »
Each person stepped through the portal within the tower, it's magic slipping them from one continent to another at the behest of the taller man in blue. First the halfling lass, then the heavily covered person and finally the man in blue arrived in the wilds. The terrain was a bit choppy and even crag-like in some places marking their location somewhere near the town of Fort Llast. Once a home to one of them, another picked up on their location through other senses and the third recognized much of the sounds that gave a general placement.

They followed their collective knowledge to find the road. It was quite a bit farther off than he intended, but it was easily reached. Their, not uncalled for, paranoia kept them quiet and moving quickly. It was with a fair amount of relief that they rendezvoused with the awaiting guard from Llast. There was brief discussion about arrangements and concerns about the road ahead. With some assistance from the man and the volunteering guard, the small and covered individual mounted a shared horse. The guard wrapped one arm protectively around her waist though not with any overt familiarity, letting his hand rest on the pommel of his saddle and join the other hand on the reigns.

Along with a scout from the small group of guard, the halfling moved out along the side of the road, scouting in advance of the moving horses. The deep blue coat (for indeed that was what one noticed first) filtered into the horses on foot, his expression somewhat grim. He stretched his senses outward to 'feel' for anything that may give them advanced warning of attack. So too did the woman ahorse, her focus already dwindling somewhat from their long walk. She slouched forward, grateful for the support of the horse beneath her. At some point in the walk, she settled into this steed's gait, different from her own horse's movements but similar all the same.

 ********

The halfing slipped down the side of the road in the tall grasses quickly. Every so often she paused, stilling herself in every way and listening. Though the risk was great her small frame was at her command. Her breathing stilled and her heart slowed leaving only the surrounding sounds of nature around her. Though some might laugh at such a notion, the halfling could literally hear the bugs burrowing in the ground just below her feet and the fluttering wings of a bird twenty paces of the tall folk off. Her eyes remained open but she did not bother turning her head for a few moments as she took it all in.

 ********

The guard knew this road well, he'd grown up in this area and made more than a few trips between the two Trelanian towns. That those worthless bits of refuge were potentially stalking his road made him angry. He was too disciplined to let it dull his wit or attention however. He took his service to Queen and Country seriously, likely more seriously than some. If he bothered to think about it, he might have realized that this was why he was assigned to this mission.

He paused and crouched low in the grasses, peering around above the grasses, then through them, then down at ground, his mind picking out every detail that he came across looking for signs of passage. He lingered here, taking the opportunity to be extra certain the way was clear until a glance backward told him the riders were close enough for him to move forward again. Grimly he darted forward again, slipping through the grasses with little displacement.

 ********

The unit pushed this way, not galloping ahead, but making a fast walk toward Hlint with their sensitive and important delivery. It was within sight of Hlint's smoke plumes that the scouts the smaller scout caught the sound of leathered wings on the breeze. She gave a whistle she knew the Trelanian troops used to signal over distances and pelted back to the main group. He was only a few steps behind her at first but her speed left him far behind quickly. She insinuated herself up to the lead guard's horse and spoke quietly, alerting him to the danger. A few moments later, the other scout returned looking worried and already preparing his bow. The double riding guard quickly began to secure his passenger to his horse, brooking no argument from her. He quietly shushed her and told her that if he fell she was to stay on his horse, that he would guard her to his last breath as much as the other soldiers around her. No stranger to battle herself, she bit down on her words and nodded. Instead she turned her attention to her spellweaving, granting as many as she could her protections.

Behind her the man in the blue coat drew in the Al'Noth around him then around her, their forms shimmering and then winking out of sight. He moved then to offer additional protections to their guards, including the halfling woman, giving her the extra advantage of mage sight as well. The halfling placed herself near the double riding horse and scanned the terrain for the first signs of their assailants. The rest of the group began to spread out on the road a bit. Picking up on the tension of their riders, the horses began to shudder their coats and flick their tails, though the remained firmly in place. Their ears pointed forward than to the side at times, listening for what danger their riders sensed. Eventually, it came on wings. Two at first, winged lizard men with terrifying quickness. They screamed their attack, perhaps attempting to spook the horses and break their formation. Despite the effort the trained horses stood their ground, awaiting commands from their riders. In a moment that is known by many fighters to be both too long and too short, the battle begins. When the drach creatures are within range, bows let loose. Most of the shots go wide of the agile creatures. What connects seems to scatter uselessly off of their hide and armors. Bows are thrown to the ground and the sound of blades sliding against scabbards with a hiss telegraphs to all the guards ready weapon.

Soon the moment of slow build is passed and the first spell is loosed, a force of magic snatching one of the fliers out of the air and dropping him on the ground. Glowing missiles begin to fly free toward the downed beast while the small halfling bats the second one away from the horse and riders with a scary quickness. The riders swing only when the second creature comes into range, not breaking form for now. Another volley of missiles streaks forward from the mages and the first creature seems downed. The second screams in rage and dives into snatch at the mounted mage though only gets a bit of steel for his trouble.

“The rest approach!” the halfling woman calls out in a surprisingly loud voice, her ears picking up the sound of stomping feet. With in moments the battle is in a fever pitch. Screams both animal and human a like fill the air, echoing hollowly over clangs of metal on metal. The horses reared and struck at their foes, swords swung through the air, missiles, magical and not, flew through the air in both directions. The skirmish lasted a mere ten minutes, but the change in the world is clear as the victors stood panting over the bodies of the fallen, living and not.

The taller of the two scouts makes his way through the enemies, both granting mercy and protecting their flanks in small movements. The other scout makes her way granting mercies with bindings and salves for those on her own side. The mounted mage remains so, but the man who had sworn himself and his steed to protect her lay on the ground a distance off, tossed there by the flying assailant. Another guard held the rains of the steed and soothed him, refusing to allow the woman to dismount or take the steed to the rider.

“It isn't safe for you to go miss,” he told her firmly if regretfully, “We will see to them as soon as possible. For now you stay on this horse and we ride like the Pits open up to swallow us whole.” Tearfully the woman nodded in acceptance but her eyes lingered on the man who she'd known only for a half a day.

Soon the remaining members of the group mounted up, the man in the blue coat refusing the newly freed mount. As well, the smallest scout refused her mount, much to the incredulous reaction of the offering guard. After a moment he just shrugged, remembering the glimpses of her he'd caught in battle. The man in blue shimmered and winked from sight once again, then the halfling scout did as well. Both nodded to each other as he brought mage sight to her eyes again. The rest laid themselves down low against the necks of their horses and kicked them into movement. The steeds jumped to, more than happy to pelt off and away from the scent of blood and death. They alternated full gallop and fast walks the rest of the way, the blue mage and the halfling scout managing, somehow, to keep pace with them, though known mostly by the few check ins they gave every little while after a round of scouting.

Soon the wooden palisade of Hlint sprouted from the horizon. Not long after they were at Hlint, and the group split at the base camp outside of the town's walls. Within moments the precious cure was delivered to Elohanna's arms for delivery on the other side of the walls. She vanished within the walls after a long look at the those on the outside and a brief nod of thanks to those who watched her move in. A red headed woman lead the man in blue and the small scout away to properly tend their injuries.

A hoot of excitement whipped through the base camp as the news spread. There was a Cure.

The Dragon Storm Campaign / Finale Event #3
« on: May 16, 2011, 11:09:13 am »
Hello again folks.

There is a third event running IG during the Finale, though somewhat sooner. I will be running it either Thursday the 19th or Friday the 20th. I am not certain of my schedule just yet.

Few details so people can plan. First, this will revolve around the Hlint story. Second, it will be geared towards lower leveled participants, though there is nothing stopping those who are of higher level from participating. Thirdly, despite the lower level-ish nature and the distance from the other two Finale's it is no less important from the overall events and outcomes. If you are lower level, or perhaps newer to the Plot as a whole, this is a great opportunity to get involved.

Finally, for those who will be missing out on the Finale's all together due to timing, I have an opportunity for you folks to participate, so please get with me via PM.

Rumour Has It / Rumors out of Blackford
« on: February 07, 2011, 10:00:49 pm »
....Begin to surface about the comings and goings of many diplomats from various kingdoms the world over. A number of these are imagined to be uncomfortable in the same room with certain others. Then again the coordination between Lucindites and Toranites arches the brow of many and upset more still...

....Explosive tempers are said to have been heard from time to time, but largely this is nothing new in the realm of diplomacy....

....However after one such explosion, a recess was called that lasted nearly a day and a half before people began to slowly return to the Alliance table to plan.....

Rumour Has It / A sad note among tense times...
« on: February 03, 2011, 07:25:46 pm »
....Samantha Clerin passed away this last week in one of the work rooms on the Temple grounds in Spellgard. Her body was discovered by her granddaughter when she was arriving to delver afternoon tea. The older woman was in the midst of her works when her heart apparently gave out.

... Her age wasn't known precisely but her work in the temple began over seventy years ago and she contributed a great deal to the Lucindite community.

... In accordance to her wishes her body has been dealt with and no funeral has been arranged. It is apparent that she seemed to know her end was coming as a good many arrangements had already been made.

....Rumor in Spellgard is her work room had to be locked down until the appropriate faithful could be found to dismantle the spells left at work at the time.

General Discussion / The Situation In Hlint
« on: December 16, 2010, 02:13:38 pm »
Ladies and Gentlemen of the server,

There are a few posts running of the current situation in Hlint as well as GM signs in front of all gated entrances of Hlint, so I won't belabor the details.

I just wanted to make clear that NO ONE is supposed to be going into or out of Hlint without the express permission of the Aeridites or the Queens Guard of Trelania. If folks continue and/to abuse the lack of presence of GMs to police behavior we will be forced to start altering the presence of the house portals and quest NPCs and we'd really rather not. The closure of the event is slated for today, though that does not necessarily guarantee the reopening of the town. Hopefully it will but that lays in the hands of the server populace. The event has been left largely open to all by the player and those who have chosen to participate will have an effect on the overall situation.

It can't be said enough, this is an RP server with effects that are supposed to be respected by the server populace. If you wish your changes, advances and effects to be respected by other people, please do the same when it is asked of you.

Thank you,

 * Sale price and terms are negotiable.

(( OOC:  This property is being sold by the current PC owner. It is  currently a dual-purpose property, with player housing as well as plenty  of event space, both of which are currently going unused. If someone is  interested in operating the inn and potentially renting out the housing  space, then great. Listed sale price is based on actual value in  database but as noted is  negotiable. The desire is for this to stay  within the community and to  be RP'd out as much as possible but if  there is no interest the property  will become 'just a tavern' and the  used housing space will be removed  from the module. The owner will take  a loss in its sale to the state/NPCs. All proceeds, regardless of sale  price, will be used to start a new business venture, leaving the net  profit at zero or more likely a loss.))
