Charlie asks around Center for Melaa.  His usual boyish enthusiasm markedly muted by tears in his eyes.  He clearly has some bad news about a friend.

Master Jinn,
I am unfamiliar with the alchemy involved in removing such an effect, but I am willing to experiment for the purpose of learning something new.  I suspect my skills as an enchanter may serve better than my skills as an alchemist, but regardless I am willing to study the matter more.   Please look for me either in at the Angels Store or in Center.

Daniel Poetr.

Calendar Events / Re: Vale revisited- Calendar Event
« on: June 30, 2019, 04:05:55 pm »
Aftermath:
A small band , this time with the guidance of a pair of druids, takes a second look.  Vale appears the same, but it is felt that nature is slowly, but surely coming back.  More rubbish is buried, bat poo is spread liberally , clay, lime as well.  Zigruum takes a long hard look and feel of the land.  "Dark magics " is his verdict.  Each of us invoke Rofirein, Katia, Folian, the Land itself for aid.  The Band travels on to Clover.

The forest around Clover seem fine.  Wildlife, plants all flourish but for the one structure by a standing house.  The surrounding forest is explored, some bugbears are put down.  We return to the house and respectfully explore it as well.  It seems to be the home of adventurers so we leave just as respectfully and return to Center to converse.  Individual efforts will continue.  Nature will be encouraged to return to Vale.

Calendar Events / Vale revisited- Calendar Event
« on: June 26, 2019, 02:31:38 pm »
Jo Poetr and Fern Fiddlehead tried for years with friends to revitalize Vale after a devastating attack by unknown marauders left the village desolate.  After finding and receiving counsel from the Bird Lord himself, Jo and Fern both wish to return to Vale and reassess the natural state.  The Bird Lord's counsel was simple - Relocate any survivors to the nearby Fort Joy and leave Vale to nature.

//Anyone with an interest in a rediscovery tour of Vale.  Sunday Afternoon 1-3 pm central US time.  Meeting starts at Prantz Gate (Portal).
Druids welcome!  This starts in 20 min!

Development Journals and Discussion / Re: Gifts of the Lord Protector
« on: June 22, 2019, 07:40:12 am »
Daniel writes carefully into the journal on his desk in Wayfare.  As he does so, he adds parts to a letter addressed to Justicar Reus of Vehl Temple.

I am shook, a sense of malice and unfinished business still lingers in Milara's realm.  The Bird Lord, Vrebel, Celador, Tralek, and myself traveled there to investigate an oddness that the Bird Lord sensed.  We found little beyond a couple of locked doors and an empty city beyond Skull Hill.

All of us believe we should return, better prepared and equipped.

Daniel, Servant of Rofirien.

A hopeful Jo Poetr asks around on the location of Fern Fiddlehead.  When asked as to why, he simply replies that the Bird Lord has counseled a more recent look at Vale.

Jo listens to Naldin's report quietly, his jaw clenched to the point where a small vein is seen popping out on his temple. "Thank you for bringing this to me, Naldin.  These attacks sound more and more like a small army on the move to me.  Should you need a blade for justice in this matter, please don't hesitate to call upon me.  The folk of both Vale and Clover should be avenged."

Jo's face hardens, "The Bird Lord, yes.  That was the one druid whose name came up more than once.   We searched in vain for him for quite some time, calls were put out, but he never came, no word came back.  Again, perhaps it was our failure not his.  We did not know precisely how to reach him or if he was reachable.  If you think you know how to reach him, please do so." With an obvious effort of will, Jo forces his features back into a semblance of his friendly self.  "Forgive me, a band of us had hope for Vale as you do and worked hard for a time to improve it.  I am still bitter at the failure.  You're story of Hallowlight gives me some hope.  I have seen life return to that once cursed place."

Naldin is directed toward Jo Poetr by those in Center.  After a few days Jo himself is seen at the fire.  He tells of months of efforts on the parts of many with him to restore Vale mostly by physical clean up and encouraging the local flora with quantities of imported bat poo, but they were unable to secure the help of a powerful druid and thus unable to remove the deep land curse.  Vale remains the same.  Dispirited the small band wandered off after a period of time.

//only forum entries where a few character development entries at the attempt.  My recollection was we were told something about a curse, but not much else was done or pursued by dm's or players - we sort of just dispersed,  so the effort died on the vine, literally.
