He brought spice to the world, something different from the normal. Maybe he was over the top, but I've never seen chaos in such a true form as the character Hawklen.

Where will the fun be now?

My stance...I wish something could be done to bring him back, but the decision is made, and even if I don't agree with it, I'll sit here and bear it and do what I can.

I highly doubt it's debatable anyways.

Now all you need is Tia Dalma, a ship, a crew and Captain Barbossa!

Hey now, it's not so thankless! All the many dozens of posts and discussions and IRC chats, and, needless to say, players online at all hours of the day are all silent thanks in themselves, thanks for allowing us to meet and greet and roleplay like mad and bash critters till our robes are torn and bloodied.

Oh boy shes right - for 4 months I've been pondering if I should or should not post my thanks but now I feel like I must - just so you know how much people appreciate what you do.

5 months ago I had a serious accident that basiclly left me in recovery for 4 months - I was home bound and other than the occasional visit, Layo was really all I had (Sad but true!!:D) - it kept me going to a degree instead of staying in bed all day :p and sure I had my moments of "grief" (Although I hope not too many)... but never without gratitude for what you guys done for us.

And now that im up on my feet and busy (I miss Layo!) let it be known that nothing can express how much I appreciate the world you forged and the time you sacrficied. You granted other people more than you know.

Thanks L! you're a hero8)
And thanks everyone on the community!

Long live Layo :( show 'em you can behave :p

And just so you know... NWN (Layo included!) much like fine wine... only gets better as it ages:\

Actually this topic was not started in reference to any conversation, rather a conversation sparked a set of thoughts.

Also it was not a conversation between two enemy clerics at all, it was in fact a normal every day encounter that started the conversation. Assuming you are referring to the topic of the thread as a whole and not the topic of your post :)

I would also like to point out that not everyone, even clerics wish to inspire love and respect towards their god in others.

My cleric does want to improve the general perceptions of Mist throughout the land but as for converting people, she is a battle cleric so unless someone shows an interest in Mist my cleric isn't particularly bothered.

This topic was started to raise a point regarding deity relations and make people think in general...

As I have seen on the server that someone from one of the 'good' religions can be rude to/act as the wish with someone from the 'perceived' evil religions (see Nibor21's early post regarding perceptions) without a single comment from others but the minute someone else acts on their deity relations towards someone from the 'good' religions then they are 'mean and judgmental etc'....Now yes...in a sense they ARE being rude and judgmental but it isn't something that shouldn't be that much of a surprise really!!! I mean it's been going on for hundreds, if not thousands of years, before the person in question even began to worship their deity so why jump on them so to speak? Unless of course it's IC for you to jump on them :)

I do feel that we all need to be a little more aware of our deity relations and how we play them, both my original point and Gulnyr's point which is an interesting flip side....And of course any other interesting points that this thread provokes :)

 *headbutts*

 See how it works?

Trust me I will be more careful.

Before Layo I had never played a game like this. Then my husband sucked me in to it. So I started out with something simple like a Ranger. Well after almost 7 months I started to get a little bored with playing just her. Then finally got my nerve up to make a cleric and got all excited about her. :D There is just so much to learn about all the different Deities and Alignments. So I am learning slowly. I have a lot of things printed out and next to me when I am playing her. But after reading a few of the treads recently I almost don't want to play her or at least not want to rp with her. :( Knowing me I would be nice to the wrong people. O.o

I would love to set in on a learning session on some of the topics discussed.

Uh oh... just remember it's your GOD that hates the other GOD...
Sure as a representive of your god you are meant to follow his ideals and have a general lower tolerance towards enemies and so forth - but as a cleric you also want to inspire love and respect towards your god in other people.. that means enemies too.

So showing a say... Corathaite the same love and care you'd show someone else if you were say... An Aeridinite (Cough) won't be as bad as Aeridin saving Coraths butt from Kezef the Chaos Hound, if we ever had such a hound roaming our planes, yes?

Now sure if said Corathaite steps up a moment after you healed him and kills the innocent Mr.Pickles.... we have a problem - but your character doesn't have to expect that eh? you're allowed to be naive after all.

HOWEVA!! that doesn't mean you should step right up and do it, no?
I mean while I can see an Aeridinite helping a Corathaite with the hope he might change the person... I can't see a bloody Voraxian doing that.

Note that this topic refers to conversation regarding deities between to enemy clerics rather than a normal every day encounter, if you're arguing about the world then go ahead and head butt them into submission.

Because Aeridin is a good god with a dogma that might support evil acts (Such as ending tomato girl).

My OOC perception of ending her (If.. didn't do it yet right?) Is evil, but it's supported by the dogma of a good god.

Alright! woah, that's some serious responds I got here! so now to address some and ask more questions and confuse the lot of us!

First, because he made me really mad! Praylor.
The dogmas are well written, they are guide-lines and basiclly provide you a background on what the faith is about which is all I need in order to craft my characters roleplay regarding that - if you don't like them then stop playing a bloody paladin! no offense. A+ for the writers and the dev team in general.

As for waiting for your god to speak with you.. oh uh... I reckon every time you cast a divine spell your god is paying SOME attention to you (Not going over the line and saying he speaks with you because Dorg said that hardly ever happens) - but he acknowledges you are channeling his powers I bet... But just like you don't abuse NPC AI (You don't, right? ;) ) you shouldn't abuse the fact Aeridin cannot drain your powers if you say... cast slay living on an innocent child :) If I was Aeridin, regardless of how much I speak with you.. I'd smite 'yer butt all the way to Dregar.

Clarissa - You're right about the dogma being a bit "nazi" for the lack of better terms, it is! But that's where the fun roleplay comes from... You have a really extreme, a bit evil and overall crazy dogma stitched to someone whos meant to be a paragon of good will - it's crazy! crazy!!!

But these dilemmas make the best roleplay, especially for those that assume more than the characters form but also his mind - I can say that while having the tomato girl issue I was arguing with myself quite a bit in my characters name, and still am - It's bloody fun, and possible due to this forum.

As for the changes with the new dogma, I personally like them.
Sure theres a bit more to hate but theres also a bit more room to wiggle around with, not saying that one should *cough* But somewhere in our hearts we're all chaotic, to a degree... That is until said god smites us down!
As for a new question... I'm still wondering, can someone gain an alignment shift for following his dogma and doing something that MIGHT be considered evil?

Overall I enjoy playing my new character and his dogma, especially since I have tools like the roleplay forum to ask whatever question bothers me, keeps the dilemmas IC it does.
So... thanks to anyone who responded!
