I'm with milty on this one. Based on the day I might come.

And also Sall had some valid points, no offense but I think everyone contribute in a trip ('cept halflings or dwarves....or half elves), so why just make one more prestiges and luxurious?

But I'm game for saturday most.

You see any other offers sir Axe-alot?  if you were offering maybe a mithril weapon that is of actual use to anyone, like a sword, a dagger, maybe a katana or even staff you might received better offers.

Till then, feel free to pawn it unless you wish to make a deal.

Roleplaying / Re: Kudos for great roleplay

Randi is always great fun, especially when you hold her hostage by a fireball threat.

As for Lance....I've seen carpets with better pick up lines...

But they both keep making it fun to be with, they make me laugh, especially the attempt of Randi to convert my wizzy, that was too amusing.... Kudos for them both. *winks to Lance*

Also Kudos for sabrissa's dark elf archer character, shes been fun to be with, her character always so full of mystery and life, a real person with its own beliefs and actions, motives likes and dislikes. Bravo for the player for keeping her interesting and innovating. :)

Also last for the ranger in training, Ron. He's been a great asset to layo with his ranger novice, he's fun, annoying and so unique its great to hang out with him.

I encourage all to try and grab some me time with all those I mentioned above, gret job guys! *thumbs up to all* ;) and all the rest I forgot to mention, seeing as its 2 AM .

I am able to produce as many potions as you need, Bama. We can work a deal on our own if you want to keep your coin, or haggle for a fair price.

Ask A Gamemaster / Re: Grabbing masks and PVP
« on: September 28, 2007, 05:43:24 am »
Having had a "disguised" dark elf in layo, I also felt the burns of metagaming when people forced themselves into "sniffing" the dark elf out of my character, maybe just "knowing" for certain she is one, in spite of being in 4 layers, from dyed skin, bandages, clothing and a full plate of armor from head to toe I still had them screaming in Hilnt about her.

Now, as much as I agree with almost all that has been said in this thread, there is one thing that I am strong believer of. No matter if you have a hood, a mask, a disguise, a clown face or whatever. Before we start rolling and setting imaginary DCs I really, really think that there should be an OOC agreement before attempting any emotes to try and grab or do something upon another character.

Because, lets be honest I wouldn't mind having being exposed as a dark elf, but as long as it means something. I really don't want to have someone who I travel with twice to simply just roll higher than me, expose my character, ruin her complete motive and just move on as it doesn't concern him/her.

He/she may still go and play their characters while my character is left with this situation. Because after you “out” the evil necromancer and ruin what the player has been trying to create out of his own spare playing time and go back to your own none interaction with the said necromancer about 15 minutes after the incident, it really just make little difference to you, while the necromancer player is left to deal with consequences you wont bother with.

So I'd really want this mask grabbing, hood pulling, and all that to happen with people who will still have some link to my character, and I have RP'ed and will continue to RP in the future, so it will effect both of us and later the rest of those I meet. Rather than have a random high/epic spot killing machine waltz by, decide he knows this mask is holding something behind, claim victory, tell this to everybody which now outs my character and just carry on to only seldom meet up with my character and now and then mention of this outing (based on the exposed secret) as idle chit chat on the benches.

That’s at least what I think, but I just want to note others that. I'm not here to stay in my comfort zone, or let my character stay shallow and never evolve by different encounters or incidents that shape her characteristic at all, I just want that the same effect that happens to my character will be from people I've had my share of playing with, or know for certain I will have in the future and not someone who I hardly ever play or never will and maybe bump into now and then on a trip.

So, feel free to set a high DC, and have two or three people roll to beat it, but as long as the player having to deal with this agrees. And of course so long as it make sense. If the hooded player was kidnapping your character’s loved one, was seen cutting corpses and worshiping corath that’s quite something else and you will have to deal with. But not as long as nothing of importance between the characters has happened, nothing that will have the risk factor of the hooded one to hang on the balance.

My two cents anyway, boy...think I've just made a mess of things :)

General Discussion / Re: Best song ever?

Bit of an odd song, I just recently came to hear it after the latest Weeds episode. The vocalist has a great voice, and she plays the keyboards fantastically.

But the song still is a bit...weird to say, enjoy:

Rumour Has It / Re: The one that got away..

The vegetables merchants in the city seem to have almost been sold out of tomatoes and cabbages as a certain green clad female have visited most of them.

It is no surprise that the wooden stadium in the fort was seen in a mass of  smeared fruits and vegetables after the rumored incident.

Roleplaying / Re: World Leader as an Evil/Chaotic/Moody/God Follower PC
« on: September 19, 2007, 11:58:25 am »
I can name a few of folks that fit into your example Milty, sadly and this isnt any personal attack, they were from normal and none WL characters/players.

I really think that as a world leader you are supposed to go up and beyond to support roleplaying with everyone within your reach and when it comes into a character conflict, which for me is also very fun to play. You should Remind the other in tell that hey...no hard feeling thats just my character....

The standard for becoming a world leader character from what I saw isnt based on just your character, but how as a player, how long you've been in the community and if you help support it.

So, while your character might be unpleasant at times, based on his personality or the event of some recent development like a quest or perm death of a beloved character. You, the player are still the player that was approved to become to play a world leader, so your duties goes beyond IC.

Thats just how I feel in any case. Not meant to offend or upset anyone with my own belief.

General Discussion / Re: Maybe a Half Day Late But...
« on: September 19, 2007, 11:50:33 am »
Now, I'm not one to voice myself much, in fact I hardly ever post in (any) forums and dislike the major "Thank You" threads, and even though I haven't been to the quest osxmallard ran I still feel he should get some praises for doing something as a GM, which I felt is lacking in my usual timezone -- Bringing life into the world we play at.

And no, I dont mean with the many improp quests I've seen him run to me and others during trips and adventures. But in his constant work of taking over normal and unnoticed NPCs and bringing them to life to remind us all that the world doesn't stop in between trips or the next big quest against an evil wizard.

Its the little things he does that I really appreciate his effort for, like having a mommy cat and her kittens walk by the street after being chased by a stray dog.

Or the flower girl from Wayfare having a casual walk across Hempstead with her children for some shoppings. It really helps to maintain and remain in character when you see these small things that help you feel the world, layo as a big living world, with busy streets and actual people and their mundane lives.

So, I just want to say Kudos for osxmallard for all of his small shenanigans and fun little toying with us.

And more for my wizard's lovely new kitty :P
