Layonara Server / And the award goes to...
« on: February 26, 2013, 09:57:48 am »
Well, this has taken me longer than expected to put up the winners of the first ever GM awards due to various reasons, but here we go, in case you've forgotten.

*** The Popular One ***
Chosen by the community
Winner: Dezza
Reward: 1 level of XP

*** Sovereign of the Nerds ***
Chosen by the GM Team
Winner: miltonyorkcastle
Reward: 1 level of XP

*** Best in Quest ***
Awarded for most quests during the Bonus XP event
Winner: Dezza, 3 quests
Reward: 15 hours of XP (5h/quest)

*** Most Generous ***
Most uses of RP XP wand during Bonus XP event
Winner: Alatriel, used 14 times on 62 characters
Reward: 14 hours of XP (1h/use)

*** Lingering Rewards ***
Awarded for the most uses of AutoXP during Bonus XP event
Winner: Lance Stargazer, used 16 times
Reward: AutoXP at Level 3 for 23 days (1 RL week + 1RL day/use)
And of course, one level of XP goes to all GMs on top of any rewards that may be given above...With an important exception. One of our GMs, who wishes to remain anonymous, has decided to forfeit the reward earned and instead give it back to the community.  As a result, every recently-active character will be granted AutoXP for a period of two RL weeks.  This will start soon (once I get it set up). Keep a watch!

Thanks to everyone who voted and participated.

General Discussion / New Forum Tips (with screenshots!)
« on: February 22, 2013, 01:30:08 pm »
I've been playing around and decided to put up some helpful stuff.  Here we go:Server Status Page is in dropdown under "On NeverWinter Nights": To adjust how you want to view posts in the forums (last first or first last), look down at the bottom left of any forum under "Comment viewing options".  If the forums are loading slowly or some things won't load at all, I found that adjusting the number of posts shown to ten (thanks Serissa!) helps.  Your settings will be saved for the entire Layo forums here so you don't need to redo this on every forum. You may have noticed your messages are in one giant inbox.  To apply tags for sorting, first select the messages  you want to tag by clicking the box to the left; then type the tag name in the box to the left of the "Apply Tag" button and click the Apply Tag button.  In this example I am tagging a pm from Elly.  Edit:  It appears that the tag function is page by page, meaning you can't go through all eight (say) pages of your pms and tag them all at once - you have to tag for each page.Your messages will still all show, but to filter by a tag, click the "Filter messages" dropdown (above the "Delete" button) and select the tag/filter you wish to see: Orth says there are no limits on pms in your inbox, so cool for that, no more "inbox is full" messages.  I'll post more as I find them, anyone else got a helpful hint for making these new forums as easy as the old ones?

The Silver Buckle / Rumors of Another Auction...
« on: February 15, 2013, 04:27:56 pm »
"Heard about it?"

"Cain't say as I has, Jorg."

"Says that fancy-pants lodge on the docks is holding another auction."

"So?"

"So, ladies only, heard."

"They's auctionin' off wimmin?  I need me one!  Loan me a fiver!"

"NO, you moron.  Only women can bid."

"On what?  They already done them costumes, an' the fancy clothes thing, I took a peek in there that night - ya shoulda seen 'em Jorg, two elfs all dressed up like hunnerd-gold hookers in red an' white, but they shore did look nice...where them wanderers git the money...bet there's a pile o' it in that place, hidden."

"Don't know, don't care, can't afford it if I could bid.  Does make a man wonder, though, eh?"

Guilds and Councils / Attention: Guilds and Organizations
« on: January 28, 2013, 04:17:25 pm »
Want to create an icon for your organization to be displayed as a badge for members under their profile?

The icon must be 32x32px and preferably having a black background unless the entire image takes up the 32x32 in which case the background is irrelevant. Please reply and attach the image in this thread.

Here's an example shot of some of my "badges" on the new system.

Also please note you no longer need to apply for membership to specific deity based forums or the druid one. The system will automatically know you have a character who follows that deity (provided your deity is correctly entered upon creation or a GM has set your deity).

Development Journals and Discussion / A search for a cure.
« on: January 07, 2013, 07:20:55 pm »
Celador enters the Moraken’s tower carrying a large box under on arm and a bucket of water in his hand grumbling about the weight. He nods to the old wizard and continues toward the alchemy table. As he reaches the table Lynessa, his familiar, zips into the tower cursing “Celador Blackleaf!  You son of a troglodyte! Why do you always try and seek that damnable cat after me!? It got my boot!” she says as she points to her left foot which indeed is missing a boot. Celador hides his grin as he sets down the bucket of water and dips a beaker into it filling it with water. “His names Fluffy, and you could do with a bit of exercise.. You really should be thanking me.”

He turns toward the pixie hiding his mirth. “You will be the only pixie I know that has combat training.”  Lynessa growls at the mage “Combat training!? Is that what you call it!?.  You’re as thick as a giant! That thing could’ve killed me!” Celador scoffs as he lights burner and setups the beaker of water over the flame.  “Pfft, Please you are more than capable of handling a cat and his name is Fluffy, not that thing. Now if you are done talking about my heritage I could use you help..”

Lynessa opens her mouth to reply but, closes it quickly eyeing the wizard with interest. A sudden realization comes across her face. “ Oh! You are starting to work on those samples that you gathered while dragging me all over Mistone?” Celador opens the box and begins to organizing the contents as he speaks. “Yes, and I didn’t drag you anywhere. You were quite comfortable in my pocket minus the spill in the Black Dog Moors and I don’t know how many times I have to say I’m sorry.  Now quit being difficult and hand me the first sample.“

She cautiously flutters over looking into the box. Lynessa slowly drops down into the box shifting through the contents. Moments later she lifts up a small leather pouch with a tag attached to it that reads “Sample #1 Path to Ire Mountains”. She struggles against the weight but manages to pass it to the mage.  “Thanks babe” he says as he takes the pouch and starts pouring the contents into a vial. He reaches for the stopper and plugs the lid. “Now  let us begin the testing! Would you be so kind as to take notes, Lynessa?” Her eyes go wide with shock. “You gotta be kidding me!?” Celador rolls his eyes and slams his fist on the table. “Will you please stop your whining! Why else did I take all that time to teach you how to write if you never use it?! hmm? “

Lynessa wrinkles he nose. “ No reason to get all snooty.  I’ll do it.. “ She swoops into Celador’s pouch and digs out some parchment, quill and ink. “Well if I’m going to do it I’m using the purple ink!” Celador takes a deep breath before grumbling and snatching the quill from her. “Fine, I’ll do it. Just be ready to hand me things as I need them.” She gives a mock salute and says “Aye aye cap’n Grumpy!” In return he scowls at her.

Celador straightens his robes and closes his eyes focusing. “Alright.. Sample one, test one, magical contamination.” He says as he raises his hand focusing on any magical aura surrounding the sample. Celador focuses his will on to the vial for a couple of moments and finally releases his concentration. “Him interesting.. very interesting..” he picks up the quill and dabs the tip in the ink but, pauses as he pulls the tip out and notices the color is in purple. He eyes the pixie who is trying her best not to giggle. He shakes his head muttering “Bloody pixies..”

Celador takes a couple minutes writing down his findings. He rises again and speaks. “Alright Sample one, test two, chemical contamination.” He picks the vial up and pours the contents into a round bottom flask and adds the now boiling water. He glances around and ask “Hand me a stirrer, Lynessa?” She flies around the table looking for the stirrer. She spots it and dives for it and picks it up and circles around the table placing it in his open hand. “There ya go boss!”  He cocks an eyebrow at her as he stirs the content and says “Thanks, minion.” Lynessa’s face goes red with rage but, holds her tongue as she notices Celador is busy pouring the contents into the retort. He then places the base of the retort over the flame heating the contents. Celador watches it closely until he is sure that the condensation was taking place. He then moves a flat bottom flask over the other end of the retort.  “There we go now, we just have to wait. “ Lynessa looks to the table to Celador then back at the table and ask. “Err so what are we doing?”  Celador sighs. “We are waiting. You see the basic of alchemy is where you take two or more things and create something totally different except in this instance I’m doing the reverse of it. I want to extract anything that might be in the soil. So as the retort heats up and the vapor or steam rises, I hope that the lighter water steam will filter out the first opening” He points at the first hole while continuing.  “And the heavier vapor, hopefully our “Not so good stuff”, will condense and into the other flask. Then we will have extract of whatever is harming the land. Then we can test of figuring out how to neutralize it.”

Lynessa offers a blank stare at Celador for a moment. He grins. “You didn’t understand one word I said, did you?” She jogs her head and blinks rapidly. “Shut it and it’s not that I didn’t understand I was just fighting to stand awake.” Celador rolls his eyes and says “Yeah.. sure. Well anyway, once that process is done I’ll take the remainder material which should contain minerals and place that on top of the calcinator and create calx or better known as limestone.  And that can be used as a conditioner to neutralize acidic soils. Which could be a possible another theory what’s causing this to the earth. But, once the testing is done and I've reviewed all the findings...” He glances over noticing that Lynessa is drifting off to sleep. He flashes a wicked grin and says loudly “Aww hey there Fluffy!” Lynessa snaps awake and flies high screaming. “ Ack! You are not getting my other boot!” Celador chuckles as he pulls up a chair and leans back lower his head over his eyes. "Now that I have gotten your attention, keep on eye on things and let me know when retort has stopped steaming and the calcinator has finished.  We got a long night ahead of us. This is just the first sample and nineteen more to go!"  With that Celador nods off to sleep until he will be awaken by the pixie.

The Silver Buckle / Haute in the City: A Silver Buckle Event
« on: January 02, 2013, 04:03:21 pm »
Fashion is ephemeral, dangerous and unfair. It is a language that creates itself in clothes to interpret reality.

Andrew Reid hosts a fashion show at the Silver Buckle.  Come model your finest couture.  Judging will be done on the outfit, not the body underneath it.  Audience invited to vote for their favorites in three categories.  One judge still wanted.

Create in cloth, leather or metal.  Mix media.  The possibilities are endless.

Awards in the amount 2000 True for best female (judged), best male (judged), audience favorite (female), audience favorite (male), and Best of Show.

Winning outfits may be purchased with barter credit (with agreement of designer) by the Angels Guild, to be sold as exclusive original designs in our Port Hempstead Fields shop.

No dark elves.  Orc and goblin bloods by recognition only*.  Giant kin okay.

//This is an ideal way for a newer character to make some quick coin and (possibly, no promises) get their rp xp switch turned on.  The new loom is fun.  Get a cheap outfit and play.  Create, invent, reinvent new combinations of what you already own.  Improvise.  Become more creative.  Not because you have to, but because you want to.  Evolution is the secret for the next step.

*Characters known and accepted by Andrew, Jetta, Elohanna, or by petition from a Silver Buckle renter.

The Silver Buckle / Hungry
« on: November 29, 2012, 11:27:44 pm »
Daylight seeps under his door and he's not slept at all.  A night of writing letters to any food vendor he knows, to Denock Wisefoot of Wisefoot Trading, to White Mouth Harbor, to Bydell...anywhere he might find a source of sustenance.  The fishermen he'll deal with in the...oh, yes.  Well.  In a half an hour, probably.

Despite his depression, despite the music that he feels unable to make, he is hopeful.  They've come, his Bucklers; Charlie and Kat, Rook and Melody, the Captain, Vell, even Keela and SehKy have thrown their hands into the effort.  And his wife, trying so very hard to help him, and this once completely unable.  He aches for her.  A healer who cannot heal, even as he is the cause of her pain.

It doesn't change anything to know that.  No music he makes will ever come close.  He is a fraud, and he's passed up perfection in favor of his moral compass.  He can look at himself in the mirror.  He just doesn't want to.

Enough.  There is too much to be done to indulge in another round of pity-me.  That hundred thousand dollars he didn't spend is about to be put to use, for he's certain the fishermen will not part with their catch cheaply these days.  He and Minu are handling that as they are well-known on the docks.  Melody and Kat have agreed to go to the merchant's quarter and take note of the vendors, what they're selling, and to ask about what farms are still farming and what farms are failing and who's already left.  Keela and SehKy are going to spend some time in the poorest parts of town learning what the people really need, what they really want, so the soup kitchen does what it needs to do and not what he thinks it needs to do.  Vell has agreed...well, that's not quite right, he's been voluntold to figure out how to mushroom farm.  They grow fairly quickly, after all, and he can cook the pits out of a mushroom.  Good protein, excellent flavor...Melody's idea to rent the warehouse and use it to grow the mushrooms until they have a food supply is brilliant as well.  Another ripple of hope, not a wave but he feels it.  He has good friends.  It is a blessing.

Argali has proposed some locations to put farms that are not targets for the dark elves or the pit moths, one of which she's visiting - Bear Island.  If farms there can be protected from bugbears, they're certainly out of the way enough to not attract attention.

One last letter to write and it isn't long.  He seals it with a read wax clef.  Instead of her name, he sketches her on the envelope - the curved ears, the flowing hair, the luscious figure draped strategically in green...alright, perhaps it's a bit much detail, and perhaps he's spending too long getting those details just right.  He's tired and making mistakes that have to be re-drawn.  That's his story and he's sticking to it.

And...there.  A black bear by her side, and it's done.  He prays a moment that she'll answer, and she'll know.  He's prepared to bankroll a lot of testing to bring those farms back.  It all depends on knowing how.

For the hundredth time he picks up a cigar, then puts it down. Lola is in here, curled in his red chair and fast asleep.  Minu does not like him smoking around the child; she begs for a puff too often.  So long as she's in here he cannot indulge and his teeth are starting to itch from want.  Which means time for Miss Lola the night owl to be taken to bed and for him to get started on his day.

Night owl.  That's a good name for her.  His little night owl...

General Discussion / Heads up: Razorback Questers
« on: November 08, 2012, 01:22:19 am »
Those "plague victims" were stock mobs that I didn't intend to shift. Please doublecheck your current alignment against your lore-page entries and make certain that your alignment is where it should be and was prior to the quest. The noblemen vs plague victims part was a scene from the psyche of the gnome, and not real plague victims, so they shouldnt have been shifting the party alignment. I hope I fixed everybody when we had the wrap up. Let us know if I missed anybody and we will get things back to moral normal. And please, don't remain silent if you simply WANTED to be more evil. For alignment shifts, we need actual RP, not opportunistic mechanic mistakes at work.

My apologies for the alignment strangeness that night.  Hopefully we have it all fixed up and back to normal.  Tune in next week for the grand finale!

Layonara Server / Version 3.31 is online!
« on: November 03, 2012, 10:38:22 pm »
Version 3.31 is online!

I'm going to start this one out by thanking all the people who contributed first, because without them, this update would be a lot smaller...and a lot less cool.  So in no particular order, I'd like to give my personal thanks so Alatriel, Guardian 452, Script Wrecked, Honora, Xaltotun and mixafix for their specific contributions and/or initiatives. Specific contributions will be detailed below.  Similar thanks go to the members of the Project Team and GM Team who contributed to various efforts with input and perspective.  Lastly, a fair amount of this content comes from the community as a whole.  While some things may not seem like direct requests and suggestions, the original motivations for some come from the community at-large, so thanks go to you all for bringing forth your ideas, even if we've managed to twist them from their original forms.

As I mentioned within the last few days, there is an updated HAK and TLK file required for this update. If you haven't downloaded them yet, please do so now.

 Fixes:
  • Fix Find Traps skill bonus     calculation
  • Fix heal kit static drop in Swamp     of Sorrows cave to be the correct version
  • Fix spelling and grammar issues on     discarded papers in Tomb of the Emerald Skull
Area updates:
  • Updated –     Hallowlight Forest (A path! A path!) {1}
  • Updated –     Fieroz City, formerly Fort of Last Hope (now matches the description     in established lore) {2}
  • New – Siphe     Castle (interior) {2}
  • Updated –     Partial Great Forest facelift (adjusted spawns, new layouts and a     new cave...somewhere)
  • Updated –     Silkwood Spider Cave (adjusted spawns for density)
  • Updated –     Leringard, main city and docks (now more closely matches approved     description) {2}
  • New –     Leringard undercity (Yep! New mid-level adventuring areas with a     progressive difficulty) {2}
  • Edge tile fix     in a quest area {3}
  • Some extra     CNR scattered around in a few places
  • Added trash     barrel to Center
  • Vale and     Clover reflect recent attacks and destruction
  • Magic     returned to the Great Rift following several CDQs by Storold and     crew
  • Change start     point in Center to be away from the portal
  • More grouped     under another heading (below)
Armor Crafting updates:
There are some pretty significant changes to Armor Crafting, specifically for the metal armors, helmets and shields. This project was spearheaded by Guardian 452 and ultimately most of the heavy lifting was done by him, but it was definitely a group effort with significant input coming from members of the Project and GM Teams. In terms of specifics...
  • Metal helmets     reduced to one type per metal. Since each helmet variant differed     only in appearance, they were wasting valuable palette space.      Helmets can be customized to any of the other appearances. Recipes     are likewise reduced to one helmet type per metal.
  • Metal shields     reduced to one type per metal and size factor (small, large and     tower) for the same reasons as the helmets.  Recipes are likewise     reduced as above.
  • Redundant     Platinum Chain Shirt removed from palette
  • Added a     craftable breastplate for each metal type as a step between     chainmail and splint mail
  • Added     Platinum and Cobalt shields
  • Completely     reworked the properties of all armors across all metals.  Armors,     helmets and shields are designed to complement each other and work     as a set.  There is a more consistent progression between armor     types within each metal and upward through the metal types. If     anyone wishes to take advantage of the new properties, old metal     armors can be “oxed”. Anyone wishing to keep the old properties     may do so.
  • Tower shield     recipe ingot requirements reduced by 1
Specifications on the new armors, shields and helmets will be posted elsewhere.  They would make this post far too long.

Thrown Weapons:
  • Weight     and cost significantly     reduced on throwing     axes
  • Crafting     yield increased on throwing axes
  • Stack size     for throwing axes increased to 100
  • Elemental     rods can now be applied to throwing axes, darts and shuriken
Loot!!!
  • Loot drops     updated with over 100 fresh items lovingly designed and created by     the Layonara Project Team.  These items replace a similar set of     100+ unique items you've all come to know and love over the last few     years. Special thanks to Guardian 452 for taking the time to create     the final items.
Shifter PrC forms:
A while back, we disallowed two Epic Shifter feats from being used due to some serious lore violations with the forms. Particularly, these were the Construct Shape and the Undead Shape feats.  It doesn't take much imagination to understand why constructs and undead are somewhat the antithesis of Layonara's Druids as we have represented them in lore.  Anyway, at the motivation of Xaltotun and mixafix, we started an effort to replace these forms with something more compliant with lore.  While the end result differs quite a bit from their initial proposal, proper credit is due to them for getting the ball rolling.

The Undead Shape feat is now Nature Entity Shape, and the Construct Shape feat is now Manifestation Shape.
  • Nature Entity     Shape – The Shifter can take the form of one of three nature     entities: Nature's Warrior, Nature's Vengeance and Nature's Wrath.      These forms have new properties associated with them that are around     the same power level as the undead forms but more appropriate for     the forms that are represented.
  • Manifestation     Shape – The Shifter can take the form of one of three     manifestations: Obsidian Manifestion, Hematite Manifestation and     Diamond Manifestation.  These forms are basically re-skinned and     renamed, but mechanically the same as the Construct Shape forms.
For any who are curious, a “manifestation” is a concept from our MMO work that is formed around an entity out of whatever natural materials that are available, thereby giving the formless entity a form.

Full details for these feats will be available on LORE shortly.

General Game Features:
  • Ship captain     conversations updated to be a little more descriptive about their     destinations {4}
  • New     customization system.  This is actually a system GMs have had for a     while but which was never adapted for player use. It's easier to     use, better organized, allows cloning of appearances (subject to     racial/gender/type limitations), has easier-to-use coloring and is     always successful. That's right, there's no more DCs for modifying     equipment and no more wasting potentially hundreds or thousands in     True for all those failed checks.  A small fee still applies, but     it's far more reasonable. Thanks to Script Wrecked for adapting the     system for player use.
  • Updated math     for the Save vs. Soul Mother. *listens for the sound of jaws hitting     the floor* The new progression goes like this:
    • Levels 1-3:         Automatic success – no chance of Soul Strand loss
    • Levels 4-20:         DC = level / 2
    • Levels 21+:         DC = 10 + ((level – 20) / 4)
In other words, below level 20 (and above level 3), the chance of losing a soul strand from dying increases by 1% for every two (2) levels.  Above level 20, the chance of losing a soul strand from dying increases by 1% for every four (4) levels. At level 40, that chance sits at 15%. {5}
    •     New system – AutoXP.  This system allows a new mechanism for GMs     to reward good RP. Rather than a single hit with a fixed amount,     this system will grant a small amount of XP, based on the     character's level, at regular intervals over a period of time as     long as the character is logged in, not idle and not in combat. {6}
    Low-level/New player experience:
    •     Adjustments to Center crypts and undercity spawns to be more     friendly to a solo, low-level adventurer
    •     Dirty Claw Kobold spawns tweaked
    •     Adjusted combat XP curves to give a boost to characters through     level 12. Formerly, this curve flattened out at level 3.
    •     Moved a Point of Interest to make it easier for the new player as an     introduction to the system
    •     New characters get more True to spend
    • Adjusted     combat XP calculation for parties to reduce or eliminate the XP     reduction when a character is below the average party level,     especially by larger margins. This actually affects everyone, not     just low-level characters, but the effect will be more profound for     this group.
As an important comment, any items removed from the palette have been converted to dynamic items, so if they are put onto an ox, they will not be destroyed.

I'll be making a few more posts related to this update soon, but until then feel free to ask questions that come to mind.

     Notes:
{1} Primary credit to Guardian 452
     {2} Primary credit to Alatriel
{3} Primary credit to Script Wrecked
     {4} Primary credit to Honora
{5} Please note, this reduction in the Save vs. Soul Mother DC is a purely OOC change. Please do not RP or acknowledge any sort of change in this mechanic in any in-character way. There is not IC reason for it.  There's no greater purpose or mysterious shift in the Cosmos, nor have your characters become “stronger” somehow or the Soul Mother gotten “weaker” or “less hungry”.  This is simply me adjusting the curve, as we have done in the past.
{6} This system is completely at the discretion of the GMs, and they may enable or disable it for any character at any time for any reason. It is not an entitlement, it is a reward. Please treat it as such.

     Enjoy!

Rumour Has It / Ships and Undead Hunters in Vehl...
    « on: September 12, 2012, 06:15:08 pm »
A ship arrives in Fort Vehl and docks at one of the more remote docks.  Men and women in gold and blue armor disembark, displaying Toranite symbols on their shields and banners.

Coins are exchanged with knowing nods and the group proceeds to the depths beneath the city, site of some recent undead activities.  Several days later, the same group emerges, carrying a few of their own back to the ship.  The city rumbles, a sense of the earth caving in below to seal what once was there...

The ship sets sail again.  If one was to look closely with a spyglass, it appears that men are jettisoning the armors and shields over the side.  The ship sails over the horizon and out of sight... in the direction of Tilmar.

History viewed from the inside is always a dark, digestive mess, far different from the easily recognizable cow viewed from afar by historians.

In Center, by the fire, stories will be recited and sung - the rise and fall of the great and the terrible; sieges and wars from eyewitnesses; tsunamis, gods, the deeds of the living and the dead. World-changers young and old are invited to speak or listen so we are not doomed to repeat.

Discussion of current events and involvement will inevitably come up.

Rumour Has It / Arranging for A Trip Into Vehl
    « on: September 03, 2012, 10:59:26 pm »
Ty Reid-Dragonheart has discretely asked around for assistance following up on something.  He's cagey when pressed for information but says it involves Vehl and undead.  And he insists that he is scouting this mission.  He's not ruling anyone out to come unless he suspects their motives but specific people are invited: Melody Widgeweaver, Armand, Kat, Robb, Emwonk, Cord, Argus, Samantha, Naldin, Fleur.

//If you were on skelly bat quests with Melody, sign up if you can; if you want to join, pm me, it's mostly an open character quest.

    Dear Mother and Father,

It's been to long since I was separated from Marv. At this point.... I'm sure he's dead. And from what I can tell, I'm the only one left of our little band of mercs. I've done plenty of work on my own, seeing as I needed to do something to make a living, but it's not the same without the rest. And I'm finding myself depending on strangers for bigger jobs that I can't do on my own. It's definitely an adjustment, but I guess I could get used to it. I haven't been stabbed in the back... yet.

For months I have wondered the roads from Llast to Vehl, searching for Marv and some of the others. I don't think any got out alive beyond Marv and I, but it didn't hurt to think otherwise. Over the course of that time, I've found Center to be the hub of most noteworthy activity. It always feels odd coming back time after time, but I guess it is going to become my home away from home.

Needless to say, I've meet plenty of interesting individuals; musicians (one named Cord in particular), other mercenaries, and a few... uhm... Really tiny people (One floats around Prunilla's shrine, the other I always see meditating near the campsite). Beyond that, I don't really know anyone. I guess I should give it some time to establish myself in the area before I make more acquaintances and rebuild my contacts.

    Love,
    Andrea

The Silver Buckle / Announcing: Silver Buckle Gong Show
    « on: August 06, 2012, 08:07:39 pm »
Comedy is defiance. It's a snort of contempt in the face of fear and anxiety. And it's the laughter that allows hope to creep back on the inhale.

THE SILVER BUCKLE ANNOUNCES: THE GONG SHOW

Mulnari, Mai Ninth, Fifteen Hundred and Two starting at eight o'clock in the evening.

Bring your best song/dance/joke/story/impression/costume/skit/trained animal act/juggling/acrobatic attempts/bow and arrow tricks/illusions/contortionist/yo-yo tricks*

A panel of judges consisting of anyone not actually performing will either ring the gong on their table (BAD) or not ring the gong on their table (GOOD).

Prizes will be awarded as follows:

BEST ACT (as measured by lack of gongage):  2000 True coin and whatever I have lying around.

WORST ACT (as measured in deafening factor of mallet on metal): 2000 True coin and some other junk.

The public is invited to compete**.  Dark elves, dark elf sympathizers, Sulterio lovers, and people wanting to blow up my inn strictly prohibited.

//*Please keep your act short-ish, no more than a few minutes if you're feeling really prolific. Feel free to borrow something already done.  Anything goes here, really.  Be aware I may ask for skill/ability checks based on your act just to spice up the results - roll with it!

//**GMs are welcome to bring NPCs; if they win, they get the coin.

    Roleplaying / A small chat....
    « on: August 04, 2012, 09:15:02 pm »
A little chat in Center about music, harmony, chaos and law can be heard by the old tree that lies across from the Bull's Eye inn. Perhaps others might overhear and join as well?

    General Discussion / Dragging Monsters
    « on: July 20, 2012, 02:12:41 pm »
Please don't drag monsters around boards. I understand that sometimes you don't notice they saw you, but please try to be aware. I recently lost 5000 and some odd going from center to wayfare, and was killed by a monster that really shouldn't have been in the town, it would have had to come across 2 boards to get to where it hit me. Just a friendly reminder.
