So ranks is more like belts in martial arts?

Thanks for the input.  You helped clarify the rankings at character generation.

The Lucinda church is umm, complex.  The handbook pg. 284 reads, "Four Wards exist for the Clergy to gain title in, most choosing to specialize  in one, some rare individuals selecting two..."

There sure is a lot of ranks though.  I am guessing that a CDQ is needed for each rank advancement.  Starting at Strandbound makes a lot of sense.  So CDQs for Threadbound, Strandborn, Threadborn, Dawnwoven,  and then a WLDQ for Nightwoven.  :D  Though Dawnwoven reaks of being an NPC, as they are basicly academic professors.  But I'm not going to wory about that.  I can't imagine subjecting the staff to more CDQs then say Threadborn. :D

Or, just be lazy and post a message saying "Yo, everyone in that Red light quest, send me a PM with what times work good for you"

Clean sweep: Cost 4: Both players discard  all cards in their hand and draw 7 cards.

Locust Mummy: cost 5: Upkeep: Same damage penalty as vampire master: summons a 4/5 mummy.  At the bigging of every turn Locust mummy spawns a 1/1 locust creature.

Haste: Cost 1: Players most powerful creature get 1 extra attack per turn & +1/+1

bumblebee: (could be a scorpion or spider) Cost 3: Creates a 1/2 creature that poisons with every hit.  Poisoned creatures suffer a -1/-0 penalty.

O.o

The problem with card room on East, is you have to be level 17 to play there.

Brutal combos are part of the game.  Like magic, the art of building a deck is choosing cards that work well together.  The reason I beat the AI players, is not because my deck is so much better.  When starting, I play with inferior decks and win fairly consistently.  AI's are dumb.  It took year of development among like thousands of programmers to make decent chess programs.   They never made a program that can play go or  bridge or many other games, and compete against a skilled  player.  Good luck getting an AI to think, "I'd better save that lighting bolt, cause Aeon has a maiden of paradise in his hand, and will follow it up with that vampire master on turn 3.  Hmm.

Personally, I am a big fan of the Paralyze spell.  It is a great counter to heroism, and a very effective card against pit fiends I might add.  Perhaps boomerang is too, not 100% on that.  Oh and dispel magic.  I don't see heroism as being over balanced as cards go in this kind of game.  Maybe raise the cost by 1.

I strongly agree that fire elementals are just dumb the way they are, but hey if you weaken them, you will increase my win % against wyatt.

I don't see mind control as being over powered.   It is a very nice card, but it does not feel out of balance to me.   It is a card you can expect to see, and should have appropriate counters for.   maybe boomerang is a good counter for this too.  I need to experiment with that card.  It is also a dead card against a deck that doesn't use creatures.  I use mind control in my undead deck, because that is good RP for undead.  I do not use it in my Angel beat down deck.  I mean jeez, it is not like a loxodon warhammer, where you just have to have one in every deck.  ;)  I will put 2 lightning bolts in any deck I build.  Lightning bolt is the best card in the game.

*ponders* Wish list for new cards:

Web: Cost 4: All enemy creatures become paralyzed for 3 rounds.

Maiden of strife: Cost 2.  0/2 creature, sacrifice Maiden of strife and opponent discards 2 cards.

Pillar of envy:  Cost 5.  Creates pillar next to the players generators.  Upkeep: Uses 2 power each turn.  Casts lightning bolt at the bigging of every turn. :D

I'll give new cards some more thought.

From the original documentation I read about treasure maps, the chests do not survive a server restart.

Any chance to add some drow ears to the collection is a good enough reason to visit the Rift.

Maybe we could form an official rescue team, like they do for echo tourists that like to climb on glaciers.

Lost my first game on line.  Won my second :D   Had a real fun 8 player FFA.  Wiped out two players before the eldar clrippled my economy.  Won a war of attrition against the orks,  and racked up over 1,100 kills before I left the last two players to battle it out.  PM me to schedule a match.

I worked very hard to develop my character to level 20 with 8 SS left.  It would kind of discredit all the times I turned down opportunities to go some place too difficult, and all the hours I spent gathering and crafting potions.

Just for clarification.  If a character has a high listen skill, then they can hear characters speaking far away, and the other characters couldn't hear the one with the high listen skill at said long distance?

A lot of the in fighting that Chongo was writing about are very prevalent in group structures and organizations.  One of the things that I have said to new players via Tell, is that "Layonara is like starting at a new school.  It seems a bit lonely at first, as it takes a little time to make new friends."  When you think about it, it really is.  We are people with various degrees of experience, and administration.  We have first impressions and clicks.

What I try to remember, is that I am here to have fun.  I am not here to live up to anyone else's standards.  I am not here to produce drama for others.  I am here to have a good time.  I obey the server rules, because I know that if I don't, I will have a bad time.  I try to live up to the spirit of the server, because I like the spirit of the server.  Don't expect me to be perfect, I make no claims to be a professional game player, or RP developer.  We are all armatures here, as this a hobby.  Relax and have a good time ;)

Godim already bid 10,000 Wren.  I thought Shiff bid, but him must have coughed or twitched his nose.  But Wren will have to bid higher then 10,000 if he wants to go higher then Godim.

I just got the latest expansion dark crusade.  I like it a lot.  Light on plot but heavy on skirmishes.  Word of advice...  Fortify areas as much as possible when taking them over, as you will have those buildings when defending.  When defending, fortify more.

Development Journals and Discussion / Re: Meditations of Nyeaeana
« on: July 15, 2007, 04:13:39 pm »
Years have passed since Jin Lun Lee made me the amulet, one that he could not concentrate.  I searched and searched for a priest or priestess of nature that could concentrate the bloody thing.  I met Valaria, but she said "No, I don't know you well enough." After that I took to wearing the amulet even though it was not concentrated to the spirits of nature.  Much later I met Drogo, but it was not the time or the place for such requests.  I come to realize that there are not many nature priests or priestesses of great power.  In all those years, my path crossed but three.  Recently I met a priestess Mist by the name of Amaduena Tillson.  She concentrated my holly symbol.  The spirits of the storm compliments my predator spirit quite nicely and I am honored.  Though she did not make any demands, I paid homage to the temple of Mist in Leringard, where I donated twenty thousand trade coins for the service.  I hope Mist is appeased.  When it comes to the lady of storms, one is best to error on the side of... respect.
