Fixed Bugs / spider bolt web attack and ac drop
« on: July 17, 2010, 07:51:48 am »
Where: anywhere

description: When you fail your save against the bolt attacks that gets your character webbed, your ac drops. When the web goes away the ac doesn't get up to what it was before hand. The effect can be cumulative. I've seen Tyillaan ac of 46 when fully buffed and hasted drop to 28 fully buffed and hasted. This happens fairly often, and the only way to fix the ac is to log out and log back in because even with a rest it wont fix.

Reproducible: yes.

NWN Ideas, Suggestions, Requests / Boat tickets count.
« on: July 01, 2010, 05:10:50 am »
I was thinking that it could be a good idea, if there would be an other page added or to the boat captain discussion screen that would say:

So basically the idea would be to see

conversation 1
Captain: What can I do for you Mate?
Char: I'm looking for passage

Conversation 2
Captain: Well do you have a ticket?
Char: 1 yes I do
        2 No, sorry.

that's where we could see a new conversation screen that would say one of those two bellow

As you go through your pack to find your boat tickets, you notice that you have "x amount" of tickets left.

Or

As you are ripping a ticket from the booklet, you notice that you have "x amount"  of tickets left.

option: 1 continue

then conversation 4
Captain: Where do you want to sail
Char: sailing choices.

Seems like a good idea.

NWN Ideas, Suggestions, Requests / Universal recipe book
« on: June 08, 2010, 02:38:32 pm »
Here is the idea

You have only one book represented in game. The first section gives you all the crafting type there is. (ie tailoring table, tailoring dummy, greater enchanting table etc). When you click on a choice, it gives you the normal choices that you see from the independent cards.

This would solidify in one unit all the cards, and would be easier to use instead of having to keep many cards on your person and searching through your inventory for the right card.

NWN Ideas, Suggestions, Requests / True strike
« on: May 04, 2010, 08:58:38 pm »
As it stands now when you cast True strike you already loose 3 to 6 seconds to start fighting, so you generally have only 3 seconds to use it. For someone that uses it with a bow.. it's not as bad as someone that has to run the rest of the distance to fight up close. So I'm suggesting to change the spell so it's not 9 RL seconds  to

1 Round/Level + 1 Turn.

This would help the usability of this spell, even more so that the spell can't be extended.

Ask A Gamemaster / A concern
« on: April 30, 2010, 02:50:32 am »
First of, this is not meant to be a critique, but more to raise a concern that I have. Over the last two years I have seen the submission require more and more in terms of justifications and trainings, even for the more simple classes. While I can understand and even agree that a richer submission, gives more ground and understanding of your own characters, I can't see to shake the feeling that sometimes, some things are not necessary.

Some submissions have been approved even recently without a shred of training out in them, while others have been asked to write up how they were trained.

So I was wondering for the newer players that may come here, if a list of "most standard" class should be made to make it easier for them to prepare their submissions and speed up the process for them? As if we refer to the character submissions and approvals policies, it may be beneficial for them to know which class are intended to go with the paragraph below.

Classes  –
The mechanical classes of Layonara have several wide interpretations and some have very specific needs. Most standard character classes do not require anything in the way of justifying the choice of class over some other in the character submission. As such, a detailed justification for a particular class is an optional thing, and we will not overly scrutinize them, excepting for very obvious glaring issues (I.E. a submission where a sorcerer studies his magic rather then innately acquires it or a level one fighter is taking on whole mobs of orcs on his own, etc).

With regards.
HB

p.s. I wasn't sure which part of the forum would be best suited for this, as it is more of a concern question than suggestion.

Taken from You know I'm pretty sure it's been covered somewhere (although I don't remember where or what was said), but wouldn't there be a way to make the animation null? I know this is not for here, but it fits with the previous posts so..

// edit

Ah ha found it

Since it's possible and the only contingent was the fact we would see the message in the server message window. I think the server has grown enough (I hope.....) so that people know when to avoid using the info of the server message window ICly and when to use it. Beside, unless someone has sc, they wouldn't know what the spell is anyway.

Would help the newer player or the older ones that forgets what divine relation is, and probably (more like hopefully) close the debate once and for all?

NWN Ideas, Suggestions, Requests / Skald bard songs
« on: March 08, 2010, 06:34:26 pm »
Alright, Dorg suggested I post this here, even if only for reference so here it is.

Presently the skald songs doesn't go up. Meaning that the total number of songs they have doesn't go up as they get higher. This is also true for the length and strength of the songs.

Proposition: to link the skald levels into the bard levels themselves so that the songs count, length and strength augment as the character takes skald levels, as long as the skald puts points into perform. This will have the benefit of them being able to still be productive in situations where their abilities does not work.

If you think about it, a skald doesn't renounce to be a bard. he learns to channel his rage/hate/anger/violence into his songs to produce different effects. That doesn't mean that they stop being able to perform beautiful musical pieces or sing beautifully. That only means that in battle they are able to tap into their dark side, if you may, and channel it through their songs.

So basically what I'm saying is that 1 skald level = one bard level minus the spell additions. So the songs gets better, and they can sing more often.

NWN Ideas, Suggestions, Requests / This is for the forum trade market hall.
« on: February 24, 2010, 06:05:10 pm »
Would it be possible to have a specific section on the forum for offcial guilds and shop to post their goods? Like lets say that in the trade market hall itself, there could be a sub board, where guilds or shops could post their sales lists. This way it wouldn't get drowned with all the independents sales that is there.

NWN Ideas, Suggestions, Requests / Bags of salt
« on: February 08, 2010, 07:34:09 pm »
1 bag of salt = 8 salts.
So if one salt cost 9 trues, 8 would cost = 72 true

The meaning of this, is that even though you have the possibility to gather them, sometimes you may want to buy them instead. Now lets say that you have like a 120 to buy, that takes a ridiculous amount of time to click on the salt, click on ok. Click on the salt, click on ok. CL. well you get it I think :p.

Anyhow if the crafting vendor, or the few npc cooks, here and there, could sell bags of salt, that once you use the unique propriety it gives you automatically 8 salts. That would be marvelous.

Either that or maybe come up with the same system used on other server, where you actually input the number of that particular item you wish to purchase. But that can cause thing to drop if you don't have the necessary space.

General Discussion / Emerald Rumours.
« on: February 01, 2010, 05:01:30 pm »
Okay, I know this may not be the best place for this, but this is a situation that I am getting tired of.

Firstly, I will write here right now, that I will not put a name in this thread. If any one wants to know. Come to me directly.

I have heard yesterday that someone is spreading lies about my dealings of emeralds in tells, to how many people I do not know.

But here is the deal. My emeralds has been sold as I posted in the market hall at 50 K a piece. Except on one occasion to someone who will be buying more than one. That time it was 40 k a piece.

I have not, and will not sell emeralds at 20 K a piece (that price is ridiculously too low for the amount of effort needed to get that rock), and that person who is lying about me, yes you know who you are, is probably spreading those lies because I refused to sell him some at that price, and I refused to exchange three emeralds for 1 deep red ioun stone.

Now truly I don't expect any apologies, nor do I want any. I just want the community to know of the lies that is being spread right now about this.

Manny.

PS. No it's not the someone that is having an Rp banter with Fehriel on the forum.
