I'm seeing many items left in the contract drop chests as items for credits that are not listed here. I will tabulate them for this time only, after that they will not be tabulated.

//there's a limit to what the chest logs, if you add to many items or multiple people leave items in a row, you items can disappear from the log and we would not know who left those items.
so please from now own post in here what you are dropping off.

*She sets the child into the covers for an other night sleep*

Tell me my darling, what do you want to hear as a story?

*The child clamored for an other story of the priestess*

Alright, Alright, settle down.

The last time I had told you that the prietess had finally made her way to Center. So we'll start from there.

It was soon after ariving to Center than the Fabulous Shadonite Priestess met the marvoulous Priest of Shadon, Valerius. She never really told him at first how her heart felt light and how she felt that she had  butterflies in her stomach and they quickly became friends. She also met an other human called Yendon, and a dwarf named Muar. All followers of the great Prankster. But at the same time she also met some unsavory people, like a man that values his hair more than the lives of gnomes, more on that later, and a elf who follows the wolf deity. Maybe it's because of her Elven heritage which truly she didn't know much about, being that she was raised by gnomes, or maybe it's because she was more serious about her faith than most other gnomes, but she had a hard time reconciling how the Great Prankster and other deities felt about each others and how she was to feel about them. Part of her wanted to scoff on the rules as Shadon teaches to do, but at the same time, if she gifted Shadon's blessings to his enemies would Shadon rebuke her? and that she was very afraid of. Being a priestess of the Great Prankster was all she wanted, all she new, all she aspired to be, and she would never want to feel the emptiness that would come if he turned his back on her. So she taunted them at each and every turn; refusing even to pray healings on them. Deep in her heart though, this was somewhat of a strain. The constant wish to rebuke the rules, the norms, but yet following that rule, it was very confusing for her, and also exhausting. She wanted to have fun every moment of her life, but this aspect of her faith was hard to reconciliate with having fun.

I told you that I would come back to the Toranite who valued his hair more than the life of gnomes. That is because soon after meeting these people, there was a call for help and a large group of people answered it, including those two. They made their ways through nasty dirty swamp, not to say smelly. Filled with bugs, leeches and other monsters. And finally they were able to reach a hidden gnomish village. She was so pleased to see so many gnomes in one place, but there was something strange. Not only all the guards of the village were goblins, but none of the villagers had smiles, were signing, partying or even pranking each others. It was a sad affair. After talking to a few of them they were whispered to seek out a certain gnome, which they did. And he explained to them what had happened. How one of them had risen to power and had changed so much that all were afraid of him, so much that he had had all the guards disposed of and replaced with goblins; which you have to understand little one that goblins are mortal enemies of gnomes. And throughout the brain storming that was done to find a solution to this very volatile situation, the Toranite blurted out the most absurd idiotic comment, that some might have to die for the greater good. How could someone who is supposed to be there and protect the weak be willing to sacrifice the weak was beyond me. And ever since she had trouble not being angry at him, especially that those that needed him at the moment were Gnomes.. like her parents. All in all though they were able to save the gnomes, although it required them to kill the leader of the village and his minions and to destroy his magical device. It was a grand fight, and even some fell, but were brought back by the joy of life of the Great Prankster and...

*she stops as she looks at the eyes of the little child finally closing*

And the rest will be for later my child.

*She tucks her in gently, lovingly, and gives her a kiss on the forehead before sitting back down for a moment looking at the sweet little face. Then she makes her way out of the room silently where she goes by the fire and starts playing an harp.

*Feh walks in from the back after hearing the door being kicked in, sniffing the air, he growls like a wolf as the scent he never scented before hand. He then proceeds to makes his way to the front and sees the note*

Yes there are ore that you can bring, iron, copper, tin and branches, oak, mahogany.

I'll leave you a note with what you owe, but right from the starts, that's going to be 200 true for kicking my door in... just wish I didn't decide to kick your butt the same way! ..kidding.. not kidding..

*he signs with a wolf paw an elaborate F in the middle*

Name: Nate
Race: Human
Age: 20
Classes: Rogue
Alignment: Ne
Deity: None at the moment

Bio:
I was 5 when my father brought me to this dark alley, I remember it being dark and mostly empty if not for this tall man at the end of the alley. Both of them were talking in a low voice enough that I couldn't make out most of what they were talking about, but in the end at that age I couldn't understand their discussion. All I remember is the tall man offering my father a bag that looked filled and my father having this ugly grin as he looked at me walking past me. I turned to run after him but was stopped by the tall man. I was brought outside of the city to some kind of farm. There was other children there, but also adults. To me they seemed to be playing around, albeit very roughly. I didn't comprehend yet where I was or what my future would be.

Years had passed as I was trained to walk on floors that were made to creak easily. Sometimes instead of the wooden floor, they trained us on glass or spikes without any shoes. We were also taught to fight in various styles, to hide, the use of various weapons. And when the group of us were old enough, they started to train us on the use of some potions and poisons. At that time I understood that my life was not the life or a normal boy. I had been sold to become a thief, a spy, a killer.  I didn't know better because for me there was nothing else. We slept, woke, ate and trained and that was all there was to it. Of course they also trained us to read, write, count and gave us knowledge of the countries and governments. And as more time passed, the more grueling the training was becoming. There wasn't a week that would go by once we reached the age of 12 that one of the child disappeared, but no one would tell us beside saying that that child was not strong enough or something to the liking.

I had now turned 17, like most in my group. And our main master came in one day with a man that was already beaten. He told us that we were to get the information out of this man by any means although he had to remain alive until he did. The master walked in front of us examining each of us and stopped to look back at me. You, you will do it. I was brought in front where the man was sitting tied up to the chair, his ankles to the chair legs, his wrist to the arm rests. On the table next to him was a slew of tools I could use. I was looking at this man who through his gag was begging us to let him go. It was slightly loose so we could hear his words. As the screams echoed in the training hall at first I was holding back tears, as I had never imagined I was going to do that in my life, but as time passed and I had to try various techniques, my tears disappeared with the feeling of guilt. Instead, a feeling of understanding between the relation of pain and life settled in. It took a few more hours but in the end he talked and whispered to the master the information he wanted. His life ended shortly after by the master's hands. He turned to me with a certain pleased look on his face and we bowed to him as he left. This would happened a few more times during that year, but with other children of my group doing the deeds. We were also trained to pass as normal people, with various type of work and how to socialize in public so that who we were would not be known.

Later during that year we had an training excursion out in the wilderness that would test our skills. We were made into three groups and were tasked to return with the other two groups flagged while protecting our own. This was to be a no holds bar excursion, as if we were out there acting out a contract. It was a brutal few days, my team displayed ferocity that trampled the other two teams and at one point I was facing one of the few ones I could call a friend. He was the one in my way to his team flag and I had a choice to make while he had his to make. He dashed at me slashing wildly cutting me at the arm. I responded and we both fell to the ground heaving. He was seriously injured and asked me for help. I looked at him for a moment, I could have rendered him help, but at that moment I made the decision not to. I got up and took the enemies flag and walked away. Was I betraying my friend or did he just suffer the consequences of his failures? I pondered that question for some time. In the end, in my mind, the objective was greater than a friendship, and while having friends may be desirable, they are a point of weakness and betrayal, wither it is done on me, or me onto them. It also came to my understanding that I may have to complete a contract on a friend, and as the master said, there is only loyalty to the master, all others are simple tools to be used, so in that moment I should not have any compulsion in accomplishing the contract, even against a friend.

Finally I turned 18 and I was taken aside from the group. It was to be my initiation, my right of passage, and if all went well I would finally get a name of my own. It was a pitch black night, and we had traveled to a city nearby. In total we were five men and woman who had made the travel and the master was part of the group. A top of a roof top we looked down the street, and even though it was night, there were still people busying about with the dim lighting of the torches. After a few minutes of looking about the master pointed out to a man and a woman that had just came out of a house. The master gave his orders with his hands, not one word was said, but we understood the task at hand. Before it was to be done the master pointed at me and I bowed. He had given me the honor to accomplish this task. Silently I followed the man and the woman jumping from rooftop to rooftop, until they were in a street that was void of other people. I made my way down and followed them unseen until I was close enough that I was able to push the man to the ground and yet grab the woman and stop her from screaming. As instructed I voiced what my master had commanded me to. "This is for refusing to work with us" and in a swift motion my hand went from one shoulder of the woman to the other and she fell to her knees holding her throat. Yet after looking at her hands and seeing no blood, she crawled to her husband and at that time they noticed finally that my blade was facing outward, the cutting edge never touching her throat. A simple turn of the blade in my hand with a taking a step forward was all that was needed for him to beg for his life, he finally agreed that he was going to work for the master and as quickly as I appeared, I had moved to the shadows the man still begging for his life.

Back to the compound the master gave me my first blades, and a new uniform. And finally he had given me my name. Nate. I was sent to center awaiting for my next orders. I was a man for hire. And truth be told, I have no qualm with what I did. Survive or die. Become stronger or die. Kill or be killed. Such is life, and it ends for everyone one way or an other. In the process I might as well make a living of the skills I have acquired.

It has been some years now that I have made my way into this world without news from my Previous master. Years where I have grown in strength, abilities and resolve. I have taken contracts upon myself whether it be for the kingdom of Liwich, or for Cherry the Center's bounty hunters and for others. Taking a new name for myself, one that was not handed to me, and to which I was bound. In this circle of spies, assassins, fixers, a Dread Blade; I am now Creed, as strong as my resolve is, I believe in myself and my abilities to push further than anyone else can. Not so much only physically and endure the trauma, but mentally. Being able to do what others morals would prevent them to do. I have no such blockage. I shed myself of the emotional current that flows in my heart and mind, I become a void where its sole purpose is to accomplish the mission at hand. I view the target as a simple target that needs to be dealt with, one way or an other. No matter who it is, a friend, a lover, a former master, they all are a name that I have been given to either eliminate or to make sure they understand they need to disappear. Whether it's in a gentle passing in their sleep, or as bloody and painful way as necessary to get the information, it was no more on my mind and soul than stepping on an ant.

Settle down under your blanket little one and let me tell you the stories of the most fabulous Priestess of Shadon that ever came to be.

It all started when she decided that she had more to offer the world than being tied down to a title and temple. She was offered to become a Hight tricksters, the highest position for a Shadonite Priest, but she refused it. She wanted to live free, unburdened by the responsibilities of taking care of  temple. She wanted to make her mark on the world, to be in the history books as one of the greatest pranksters in the glory of Shadon. And such at night she left the temple and made her way to the docks where she bargained a captain to take her on as cook and healer.  Maybe it was her exuberance, or maybe she was just ditzy, or maybe she was just intimidated by the strong presence of the captain, but she should have asked more questions. Instead of being on a passenger ship heading to some town, she found herself onto a pirate ship, yes my darling, a pirate ship, and yet it did not bother her that much. The alluring nature of being a pirate roaming the seas in search of treasures, the adventures that he boat mate recounted by the soothing light of the lantern, drinking a good paint of ale and listening to the music being played, all made it worth it. Of course she knew that as a pirate ship it also meant that innocent people would be getting hurt or even die by the hands of her boatmates, but she was not taking part in the attacks herself; she remined down below tending to the wounded and or cooking for the crew. Until they day that the captain though she should try doing more. They tried to teach her to use daggers and darts, but she was much more a danger to herself and her crewmates than to the training dummy that the captain had setup for her to be tested on. But when it came to using a bow, she showed that she had promise. she continued to train with the bow while doing her other business and never saw real combat, except when it was to defend the boat itself. At least until that fateful day.

It was a sunny day on the coast near Hurm. The boat had anchored near the coast line with many other boats that bore the same banner, the Banner of the Pirate Lord Corso. The lord himself had already sailed off with his main crew to his hideout and the other crews were still feasting and having a good time off the boat before they had to sail back out again. It was very joyous and almost felt like one of the festival back at Arnax. But then the darkness came just like a nightmare in plain day. Her friends, her comrades, fell one by one to the hands of a merciless group of assassins monsters that revel in the blood of their fallen preys. She had never seen such ferocity, such evilness in all her lives. Even if she knew they weren't demons, they sure looked like it. Their eyes glowed, their swords, staff and bows bright with evil fire. Even their armors and skin were covered in stone or bark and some of them even had magical globes surrounding them. If these were not demons than she didn't know what true evil was, as for sure they were evil incarnated bringing their bloodthirst down upon her friends. She knew that she had to do something to survive else she would fall prey to their hands, and only Shadon could phantom what they would do to this poor elf priestess. And so while they were busy torturing her friends, she covered herself with the essence of those who had already fallen prey and laid on the ground lifeless, praying in her mind that Shadon would cover her and trick them into thinking that she was slain. And guess what! Shadon provided. They did not find her as she waited for them to leave. Standing up still dirty, she prayed to her beloved Deity for his protection and she made her way into one of the tents that was still standing, managing to find clothing that fitted her figure, colorful and to the liking of Shadon, but most importantly did not scream Pirate and not soiled by blood. That day with the aid of Shadon she had managed her first ever mass prank, albeit that they never knew of the prank, which is even the best ones. She finally made her way into Hurm, passing the guards incognito, and bought passage off of this dreaded continent; setting off toward hew new home, a small town that have so few buildings that people even slept in tents. A town-let called Center. And from there she started her new life.. that, my sweetest, will have to be an other story.

Now go to sleep little one, and if your good tomorrow, I'll tell you more of that story.

Development Journals and Discussion / Re: Nate's Journal
« on: March 30, 2021, 02:18:33 pm »
*Sitting by the lake splendor, Nates pens into his journal*

Things are progressing very well. I am now part of the Dread Blade under the name Creed. Within only  few weeks I have already made connections with the Liwich kingdom as a group of us took the bounty for a Pirate leader called Corso. Too bad he was stone bound, but I'll keep looking into them. As Steel said, we work by reputation. It's a step in the right direction for sure. Beside that there's this new Bounty Hunter contact named Cherry that has started to hand out contracts in Center.  I have already done a few of them, making sure to use my pseudonym as to build the reputation. This is giving me more opportunities than I thought to keep progressing toward my goal, and I feel I can reach it soon.

The word of Steel still resonates in me from the discussion we had in the misted village. As he formally gave me my admittance to the Dread Blade.
I am no longer bound to the master that bought me from my father as I was a child. I am free to make my own choices without being bound to servitude, free to take my own missions.
I am Creed of the Dread Blade. May that bassard tremble if he dares comes after me or the one I love, I will bring him a storm that he has never faced and erase him from history altogether.

*Looks up as a bird lands by him with a message, taking  and reading it*

Well looks like there's an other contract waiting for me. Time to get busy.

Barley inspects the gear:

Picks up a Greater Archer's Belt: lens x .75 = 21,093
50% of value paid in coin today: 10,547 True
10,547 IOU

He hauls in resources for credit:
100 clay x 25 = 2500
25 sand x 40 = 1000
1 glass ingot x 97 = 97
plus previous credit of 4176
Total credit: 7773

10547 owed:  minus 7773 in credit = 2773 owed in credit (sand and clay)

I'll update this post when that 2773 is paid in resources.

UPDATE: Added 20 ingots of glass x 97 = 1940
IOU 833 in resources.

UPDATE: Dropped off a Bronze helm, iron helm, and one trick staff. If these are acceptable in trade, then 50% of lens = 3,540
I had owed 833 in trade, so if the 3 items are accepted, then I have a trade credit of 2707.

Let me know!
Ye have my thanks!
~Barley

Those are fine and accepted.

I'll have my cleric lass ready for that quest!

The tunnel "Path to the Ire Mountains Cave" that is the only access to several areas with orc archers, honey, birch, hickory, oak, licorice, ivy, sand, and clay, etc., is very tough to survive for lower levels.

My 10th level monk can easily handle the areas that the tunnel accesses, but can't survive the swarm of big leeches in the tunnel. It seems to me that either there needs to be less leeches in that tunnel,  or the boat from that final area (near the oak tree) should be a two-way boat, not just one way to the shore of Lake Dantuk near the flag and near Center, so there is access to the orc areas without having to run the lethal gauntlet of giant leeches.

Thanks for considering!

strange those should have scaled.
