Bug Reports / Character freezes while enemies keep fighting
« on: September 20, 2019, 07:05:53 pm »
I've been noticing that sometimes the foes get a bunch of attacks in even though I've made the action to be attacking in response. Then I have to actually move my character a step or two away from the beast and attack again, for my character to actually attack the foe.

I saw in the recent grievances thread that Ke'Koa wrote that he, Hellblazer, and Davidhoff have all three also experienced this issue.

Is this a bug?

in game, i play it off as the fog of war, or being temporarily stunned or intimidated, but it's a hassle, and I lose a lot of attacks due to it. It does keep me on my toes to be aware of the battle and deal with the situation as it comes up.

I have just left a note at the store of these items I'd like to purchase. I've taken the cloak, but not the other items. I've left a downpayment of 100,000 True (50K in the cloak container and 50k in the note chest), and will promptly pay the rest of the amount due after you notify me of what that amount is. And at that time will pick up the other items:

P.F.'s cloak
Mighty +3 component
500 titanium IV arrows
1000 Fire III arrows
1000 bronze tiped oak raven feathered arrows
Paladin's Primer Book
1 Lion Bag

Thank you!

A lot of animals attack the player, even when in real life those same animals would flee. Examples include deer, birds, skunks, even black bears and cougars (I live in the mountains of Colorado and have encountered black bears many times, and cougars several times - they always flee!). It would be great if a player can choose whether or not to hunt these animals, rather than be forced to fight and slay them.

Barley peruses the jewelry and picks out the Meroppi Angert Amulet.
Lens price: 2704 x .75 = 2028.
Barley pays half that in coin: 1014, and owes 1014 (unless there are some materials you need, such as sand or clay or.....?)

General Discussion / Re: The Deep- picking up where we left off
« on: September 05, 2019, 07:16:08 pm »
Hi All,

I noticed the dark elves referred to as Darkie or Darky during the trip. That word, unfortunately, has been used in history as a derogatory slur for black people. Can we call them Drow instead? The word Drow is not tradmarked by wizard of the coast.

Thanks!

Trade and Market Hall / Saddlebag Notes to Timir, Elohanna, Martlet
« on: August 27, 2019, 01:34:43 am »
Note to Timir:
Yes, Ale Goggles should be 3,000. I think I accidentally miswrote it to be 13,000 in the grand list (//page 1 of the forum thread//). Corrected now!
Thank you!

Note to Elohanna:
Thank you for the pricing of Barley grains and Witch Hazel! Please do let me know if any other prices are missing from the lists, or if it seems any of the items are mispriced. And, as always, thank you for the coin!

Note to Martlet:
Thanks for bringing unique rings and the first runes to the shop!

B.G.'s Ring: wizard spell 7th level, Acid Resistance 5-: lens 10,328 x .75 = 7746
D.A.'s Ring: cold 10% immunity, Reflexes +1, Set Traps +3, Spell Resistance 10: 2500 (I'm pricing this far less than .75 x lens, so please come take it if you'd like to sell or trade it elsewhere).

I'm still unsure how to price runes, however, I notice that potions, star dusts, and wands of bulls strength or endurance last about 3 minutes real-time. Runes last 16-22 minutes, depending on the rune. So that's about 5-7x the time of a potion. That gives a basis for comparison since the runes increase attributes similar to level 2 potions. All the runes you deposited are fine at .75 of lens.

Thank you!
~Riven

Riven leaves a note for Martlet on the bulletin board at Saddlebag Pawn:

Martlet,
Thanks for dropping by goods!

A few notes: we only take 2 of each specific type of item. We already have 2 Enhanced Crossbows, so we can't take more of those. Also, I'll need to research a better price for that item than 75% of lens, as our Mahogany heavy crossbows which are better than Enhanced Heavy Crossbows are 7,000 True.

Also, I'm updating the prices for copper or hickory items, elemental enhanced or not, to 30% of Lens. I'll give you an updated price below:

1   Enhanced heavy crossbow   at   7335   for a total of   7335:
Please pick back up., since we have 2 already in the chest. It will await you in the "For Pick Up" chest in the main hall.

1   Badacs… staff   at   2109.6   for a total of   2109.6
Nice Staff! Someone will be very happy to pick this up!

1   Drom.. Pick   at   600   for a total of   600
I believe you acquired this from the Free Chest some time ago. If someone places an item of value in the Free Chest, I do not accept that item for trade credit. If you are no longer needing this pick, I'll put it back into the Free Chest so someone who can make use of it can find it.  If I'm mistaken, please let me know.

1   Febrinde… shortsword   at   600   for a total of   600
Lens 1548 x .3 = 465 value

1   Vrogdishnak… club   at   900   for a total of   900
Lens 3920 x .3 = 1176 value

1   Febrithien… falchion   at   900   for a total of   900
Lens: 3988 x .3 = 1197

1   Glebur… club   at   900   for a total of   900
Lens: 3920 x .3 = 1176

6   Elemental enhancements, lesser   at   2000   for a total of   12000
Thank you!

1   Sudoc… Helmet   at   3000   for a total of   3000
An interesting piece! Grants a level 7 Druid spell. However, do druids wear metal helms? that's like the L.F. Armor in the shop that grants an extra level 1 Wizard spell slot but it's scalemail. Are there wizards who wear scalemail? I'm hesitating to accept the Sudoc Scha's helm due to my belief it is unsellable. However, I've left it in the Helms chest for now. Let me know what you find out about druids and metal helms. If they can wear it, then let's leave it in there. If not, I suggest it go into the Free Chest.

That adds up to 21,124 True of Credit deposited, if the Druidic helm is able to be worn and used by druids.

Which puts your total credit at 22,369
Let me know if I made an error, or if you have questions.
And thank you again!

Dear Ferrit,

Thank you for your prompt response regarding the boots! By the way, they are Boots of Hardiness, not Striding. I'll happily pay the 40,000 True for them.

I do not need more items at this time, but thank you!

I believe I understand that I owe a total of 36,924, minus what I've paid (16,833), so that brings the total due to 20,091, or am I mistaken?

By the way, Boots of Striding +2 are worth about 9,000, but Boots of Hardiness are superior to Striding, so they are worth the 40,000, in my opinion.

Please confirm via a private note left at your shop, and I'll remedy the situation within a day.

Also, if you run across items that increase the number of spells a Ranger can cast, I'd be interested in discussing a purchase of those. The Ameluril Le'dwa's shield was one such artifact.

Thank you!

// Riven leaves a small blue note in the Angels Guild chest labeled, "Please record all transactions on notes in this chest" //

Purchased the Ameluril Le'dwa's Large Shield
lens price = 916
916 x .75 = 687 True, left in the Unique Armor and Shield chest.

Purchased Boots of Hardiness +2
No price listed, Lens price = 21528 x .75 = 16,146. True left in Boots chest. Let me know if you price these boots differently.

Thank you!

//Notice posted at the Saddlebag//

We adjust prices to match the common prices of the realm. Please bring it to our attention if you notice any items priced at more than 10% off of the common going rate of those items.

Updated Pricing for Berries, Unique Weaponry, and Elemental Weaponry and Armor:

BERRY PRICES
Blackberries 45
Blueberries 50
Cherries 50
Cranberries 30
Elderberries 30
Grapes 45
Raspberries 45

Unique Copper and Bronze Weaponry
Copper and bronze weaponry do not harm certain more powerful beasts, therefore their value is less.

Unique Copper Weaponry: 30% of Lens
Unique Bronze Weaponry: 50% of Lens
Unique Iron or Platinum Weaponry: 75% of Lens

However, if the unique quality is only elemental in nature, then the pricing is NOT based on the lens price, rather it's based on the price of the elemental enhancement:
Copper Weaponry or Armor: 30% of the price of elemental enhancement.
Bronze Weaponry or Armor: full price of the weapon or armor, plus 50% of the price of elemental enhancement.
Iron, Adamantium, Mithril: full price of the weapon or armor, plus 75% of the price of the elemental enhancement.

Thanks, Orth! Very interesting.

So, currently, we are valuing certain things at 75% of the "lens" price.
Does anyone feel that is too high?
Or that it may be worth it to create our own simplified system?
