Bug Reports / no large-sized Tuning Fork or Musical Instruments« on: June 26, 2019, 02:42:58 pm »
Hello,
Attempting to craft a musical instrument with my wemic bard, but the only tuning fork for sale in Fort Vehl is a small "wand". It does say usable by Bard (which I am), but even so, the wemic cant use it. Probably because the wemic can only use large-sized crafting tools. Does a large-sized tuning fork exist in the game? 42
Ask A Gamemaster / Question about Northern Gloom Forest« on: June 26, 2019, 02:15:55 pm »
The description that is shown when entering the Northern Gloom Forest (next to Dapplegreen) includes these words:
"tall corn and barley grow wild..." "apple and peach trees tempt, with huge ripe fruits..." and yet there are no fruits or grains able to be harvested in this area. If this is intentional, then the description should be changed. If not, perhaps add some grains and fruits? Also, if my memory serves me, when I explored through the crack or door into the castle, there was no warning that it was so thin I wouldnt be able to return that way. I did see this warning in another dungeon area. I think a "proceed at your risk" type of warning would be helpful for that entrance to the castle. Thanks! Thanks! Mark 43

Ask A Gamemaster / Question about Wemics« on: June 18, 2019, 10:00:06 pm »
Hello,
I've been slowly reacquainting myself with my wemic character. I notice that when she runs, I feel some disappointment or suspension of belief, as it looks like she's running in slow motion. When I see a large four-legged creature like a wemic I expect it to at least be able to run faster than most smaller two-leggeds. Is this something the GMS will consider adding to a wemic - a slightly faster run speed? Or do I need to take a level in Barbarian just to feel like she isn't running through taffy? 45

Ask A Gamemaster / Request for Private Forum for Saddlebag« on: June 07, 2019, 02:06:35 pm »
Hello,
I'm wanting to build a team of people to bring more vitality and roleplay opportunities into the Saddlebag Pawn Shop establishment. I think that one way to do that is if we have a private forum where we can communicate with each other on topics related to Saddlebag, track purchases and expenses, and make plans and agreements. What hoops do I need to jump through to manifest this? Thanks! Mark 47

Ask A Gamemaster / GM decisions for Saddlebag Pawn Shop« on: May 22, 2019, 01:31:14 pm »
Hi Fine Folks,
It's been several decades since Riven was involved with Saddlebag Pawn. I'm reaching out to the GMs to see if you all need to make any decisions regarding the shop prior to Riven getting back involved. Such as have any PCs been running it, or has it been NPC shopkeepers and shop guards, etc. What to do with the funds (donate to rebuild X, Y, or Z, or it's been taken to compensate those who run the shop, or there's a theft at the shop, etc.). Riven started the shop back in the day, using a mule and saddlebags. Eventually, he collaborated with Tyrian, the owner of the Twin Dragon Inn, to house the shop in the back of the inn. And later Riven joined forces with Calylith to move it and expand it in a more convenient location for folks. I also had a halfling shopkeeper character named Tinpin who helped with the ledger (only function of that character was RP in the shop, no questing, no leveling). The info I learned on Discord was it sounds like the shop has been running on its own, with shopkeepers and shop guards assumed to be there. I'm bringing this to your attention so you can decide what has transpired so I know how to play Riven, when he knocks on the door and inquires about the shop. Before RL hit me and I fled Layo, Riven and Cali had discussed running it together, and getting Breanna involved. I don't know how that turned out (I've messaged Elohanna about that). Also, I just talked with Tobias on Discord, and his character Celador was in a relationship with Cali, and he has interest in helping with the shop. At any rate - i leave it in your hands if there are decisions to be made. And otherwise, once I get Riven's description changed (as he's older), I'll log in, see if my bedroom and chests are still there in the building, and offer my services to whoever PCs or NPCs are currently "in charge", assuming they don't just say, "so long, Riven, you've been gone too long, so stay gone!" 49
Introduce Yourself / *waves* Long time no see!« on: May 22, 2019, 12:01:02 pm »
Hello, it's been a few years since I played! Looking forward to playing again when I have the chance! My main character is Riven (he started the Saddlebag Pawn Shop back in the day). I also play a dwarven berzerker and would-be miner and smith named Bron Skallagrimson. I have a couple other characters but may not bring them in...we'll see.
Looking forward to RP'ing with you all! ~Mark 50
Ask A Gamemaster / Request for Description Change« on: May 22, 2019, 11:50:55 am »
Hello Fine Folk,
I'm hoping to start playing again. It's been some years! I'd like a description changed on Riven, and I'm wondering if it's possible to turn his hair grey? New Description: This older human still has a bit of bounce in his steps. His face is deeply creased with age and sun-tanned by years in the outdoors. He gifts you with a grin and his eyes sparkle. Although armed and lightly armored, he doesn’t look intimidating or especially dangerous. A likable enough fellow, it seems. Also - who runs the Saddlebag Shop now? Last I played Riven (when I started the Saddlebag), I joined partnership with Calylith, and moved the shop from the Twin Dragon Inn....then RL hit me a doozie, and I bowed out of playing on Layo. Logged on last night with Bron, my dwarf. Enjoyed the RP and welcome! Thanks! Mark 51

Saddlebag takes up to 100 of specific craftable resource items, or in the case of large, unstackable, items, one chest full. General Discussion / Riven's Vanishing Act« on: November 02, 2011, 11:21:52 pm »
Hey all,
please forgive my vanishing act! And right in the middle of working to uberfy the saddlebag pawn. RL hit me a right hook that dropped me on the ground. I'm beginning to stand now. Hopefully I'll be back in force soon enough, and we'll do the move and uberfying of the saddlebag in good time. Enjoy, ~Mark 54
Ask A Gamemaster / Requesting private forum for Saddlebag Pawn Managers« on: October 13, 2011, 01:05:41 am »
I hope this the right place to ask for this.
Alazira and I are getting ready to expand the shop majorly, and we need a private forum to keep track of transactions privately, and communicate with each other about the pawn shop business. What do we need to do to create this? Thanks a bunch! ~Riven 55

Ask A Gamemaster / Possible typo in Lore re: Epic Ranger Feats« on: September 19, 2011, 09:52:07 pm »
I may be mistaken (lost my nwn manual), but I believe Favored Enemy is an Epic Ranger Feat. It's not listed in Lore.
Lore statesa: • Epic Ranger Bonus Feats: ? Bane of Enemies: prereq ranger 21 ? Blinding Speed: (Haster 1/day for 25 r; pre-req Dx 25) ? Epic Toughness +20 hp ? Epic Prowess +1 to hit with any weapon ? Epic Weapon Focus (pre-req Weapon Focus, and lv 21) Improved Combat Casting (pre-req Conc 25, Combat Casting) 60
Ask A Gamemaster / May I Create a “NPC” Shopkeeper of Saddlebag« on: September 18, 2011, 03:02:05 pm »
Hello!
I would like to create Tinpin Fairtrader, effectively an NPC shopkeeper of Saddlebag. I promise that I will use Tinpin entirely in a NPC role to add life to the shop, and make the shop run smoothly. * He will always be 1st level. * He will never adventure or acquire XP * He will never acquire gear of any sort, other than normal clothing. * He will never acquire coin. * He will always be at the Saddlebag Shop, unless a short errand is needed in the town of Leringard (for example, to guide a lost customer to the shop). Here’s why Tinpin enhances the world: Being able to inhabit Tinpin and interact with customers brings life to the shop. The other reasons for my request: When I designed the Barter shop format of Saddlebag, I hoped it would be mostly self-managing. It is not. Thus, Riven is often interrupted from adventures or exploring or gathering of herbals with questions or a need to return to the shop to sort things out. Riven may be hundreds of miles away, and it makes no sense that he could sail or jog his way to the shop in a matter of minutes, to handle the issues that arise. If I have Tinpin at the shop, then when I get a “Tell” from someone, or a PM, I could log in and control Tinpin – to interact with and guide customers, to check the lens pricing of an item, and to take items that have been placed in incorrect chests and place them in the correct chests. Also, once I've logged out, I have the information I need to respond to threads regarding the shop. If the answer is “Yes”, then do I need to submit it to the New Character Submission, or do I just craft Tinpin and get him to the shop? Thank you! ~Mark |
