Dawn of Heroes II
« on: January 04, 2010, 01:56:23 pm »

Edrons choked and pain-filled screams rise above the crackling of fire that whips around you. One each side of you, bubbling lava spits and roars, billowing out heat.
And infront of you, guarding the only escape ... two of the massive fire creatures.

*Father Badger turns slowly after watching edron being dragged away his face scrunched up in worry. His gaze turns serious and he  whispers to the others quietly:

"My friends we must do something.. there is not much time. I have a vague plan but though I am not asking you to risk your lives I fear I cannot help Master Edron by myself. I owe him as much for stopping to carry me when we fled these monsters of fire...

*he pushes his small spectacles up his nose and takes a deep breath*

I was thinking perhaps a diversion of sorts. These two guards are not too clever I do not think, the one that took our friend seems to be the smart one - the boss.

I did at first have a few ideas for the diversion, such as chucking pebbles, having one of us distract it somehow but I believe that perhaps Master Valentine here could help us more with this. You all saw his wondrous light shows and vanishing tricks...

After that of course we might be able to pass the guards and make our way to Edron, I can tend any wounds but we will need the strong warriors among us to carry him out with us.

*at this point he sighs heavily*
Indeed our greatest problem is the one who took him, I am not quite sure how we will get past him yet... doubtless we will need another plan for him .

*he looks pleadingly to the others for ideas...*

**Vaentine opens his eyes as he listens to his name, to his companions might be odd that he seems to be havong a conversation with someone that is not there, his atention then goes to the rest of the group saying in lower voice as he winces hearing the screams in the air*

Well . even if I am flattered and a bit excited about performing to our singular hosts, *clears his throat*  Well There must be ways to do this, I of course could try to create such distractions, But we can't assume that our guards are dumb enough, If we do that and got confident in that then the fool would be us. Nonetheless.  Not that i want Edron to be tortured as we can hear, But well I don't think that they will be happy only with him. If you get my meaning.

As for the escape well . I think I could shrowd to some of you, That of course would let me a bit drained, But Well I am here as support only you all are the heroes here.

I'll try my best to create the distraction tough *clears his throat and gulps* If that is what the group decide, dumb or no I think they will notice if half of the group disapear, *he smiles softly posing his eyes upon Lucia holy symbol then to the mantle over his shield , raising his sight again * yet I'll do the best to get you all over here, I am affraid I could cover 3 with the shrowd , you'll have to point me whom.

Oh heroes, I am sure Master Edron would prefer you to try for you all to be safe, as i said I'll try to help you to get pass the guards, *smiles * Its worth to see if i am able to entretain outsiders , it would be surely put my credentials as Story teller quite high .. If not At least I would have tried.

If this works.  and I am stressing the If, and you got pass the guards, Then the option will be open to you heroes, Would you proceed to save your complanion in arms, facing the hopeless odds, or would you leave to tell the world of this menace ? Well. Only story will tell after all.. as it is with all the heroes of the lands . .

**he finalizes and looks over the group with an measuring look, just to pose his eyes on Vincent for a bit more time than the others, as if already were trying to figure the outcomes of each member of the group in diferent kind or stories *

Aunlyn looks at the hulking creatures while considering Father Badger's game plan.

I have no qualms about running from them, indicating the guards, but it's where we'd be running to that's my concern. We could be anywhere. How do we know these guys aren't just the small-fry of an even bigger fryer?

I mean--where are we? Aunlyn takes a look around at the geography of the room to see if he notices anything useful or out of place.

**Ar'dreth ramains silent and leans against a wall, waiting for one of the others to think of a plan...*

** while waiting for the others he examines the two massive gaurds trying to spot a weak spot of some sought. He then tries to think of his own little plan that could free him from this place...*

At the whims of the demon towering over him, even as flesh is torn or burned and healed to be torn and burn't again in quick succession he prays as best he can and as able. to the only one who could bring him through this suffering. Trying to ignore the pain in his body, the torture on his mind he fights through lucidity to keep the name of Rofirein on his lips, in his heart and in his mind.

...Lend me your strength to see this pain through, shield me from the physical pain with the protection of your wings, let my mind harden like your scales to defend me from the creatures aura and power, your determination and dedication to law give me power to control my own mind.

*screams*

...Lend me your strength to see this pain through, shield me from the physical pain with the protection of your wings, let my mind harden like your scales to defend me from the creatures aura and power, your determination and dedication to law give me power to control my own mind.

*screams again*

...Lend me your strength to see this pain through, shield me from the physical pain with the protection of your wings, let my mind harden like your scales to defend me from the creatures aura and power, your determination and dedication to law give me power to control my own mind.

*a sob, tears flowing freely, stuttering words followed by more screaming.*

...Lend me your strength to see this pain through, shield me from the physical pain with the protection of your wings, let my mind harden like your scales to defend me from the creatures aura and power, your determination and dedication to law give me power to control my own mind.

*blessed unconsciousness, awakening, screams, echoes of screams*

...Lend me your strength to see this pain through, shield me from the physical pain with the protection of your wings, let my mind harden like your scales to defend me from the creatures aura and power, your determination and dedication to law give me power to control my own mind.

and on....

and on....

**Gart casts a brief dweomer and disappears.

However, it is apparent that the fiery and hollow sockets of the two Guardians follow something hidden moving about.

Perhaps as that hidden something moves closer to them, one Guardian turns to face it directly, a loud cracking sound coming from its huge stone fists as it clenches them tightly.

The hollow sockets go back to staring mindlessly at the far wall, and eventually, Gart reappears again.**

*Valentine shrugs as he looks at the scene, and with a nervous smile turn to the others  and lowering his voice *

Well, my friends so much for the shroud, er..  could someone please check that our dwarven friend is still breathing?

**if nobody does it , he would do it with his scarce ( -1 heal check ) experience in it *

*Still speaking to the others * Well This is it, I don't think that a frontal asault would be the choice anyway. as well, So I am still up to the distraction if you need me to do it,

*As they sit isolated in the dark space Edron leans forward so his tired and emotionally worn face can be seen by the dim light of their own items of magic*

Somehow I believe we have stumbled into the middle of an all out war between this demon and the celestials that brought us here. Who is to say what they are fighting over but we have become embroiled in it.

When the demon *hesitates remembering the agony and torture* when the demon tortured me he seemed keenly interested in the portal we accessed to get here.

I have been thinking and I believe that in the past the demon in Layonara was overcome and imprisoned and the means of his travel between the place we were just in and Layonara was sealed away to prevent more coming and going. I think what Apath unwittingly stumbled across was an attempted cover up of those portals. Thus we have aided Apath in opening those portals once more. If we dont find a way to get back there and undo this I fear that once this demon finds the portal...he will use it and take over as he assumed others had already done.

What do you think? *He looks around at the faces of the others that he can see in the shadowy darkness.*
