quest for Prunilla followers
« on: September 01, 2006, 02:07:42 pm »
soon (not sure how soon) an agricultural area is opening in Hlint,
and when IC, i have touched upon the concept of building a small temple (more like chapel) of Prunilla in or around this area.
i was thinking that a quest could be done for this. for instance: a large group of followers of prunilla travelling from Hlint to the main temple to collect the NPC who would run the chapel. but on the way back to Hlint the group is attacked by blablabla because they dont want a temple in Hlint because blablabla, lots of danger on the way back etc.

p.s. any ideas would help, i think having a temple of Prunilla would really finalise the authenticity of the agricultural area

Just a short note on temple additions. The temples we added in, well, the recent years I guess, have always been on player initiative and by players collecting a sum of money (sum to be determined by Leanthar but think in the 1 million-gold range) and then it would be placed in game. The thinking behind this is, that in order to raise this amount of money, you'd have to have a decent amount of followers collecting it, so that there'd be enough people to worship/use the temple.

So a single quest wouldn't be enough to add a temple.

Side note on Prunilla's temples: Temples are found underground or in the side of hills. They appear to be very small on the outside yet are very spacious, warm, and inviting on the inside.

Another note to keep in mind: Every town you go to will have some sort of place of honor or worship for nearly every deity. The ones we see are just the biggest ones for that town. So there's probably some litle shrine to Prunilla somewhere in Hlint, it's just not part of the module.

There was a nice little discussion about the visible temples a while back. Ilsare's little outdoor shrine is apparently a huge temple, in reality.

Pretty much. It's just like how there are really people milling about in Hlint constantly... We just don't see them.

It would still fall under "you want it, you get the followers and the money for it" category in my opinion. Farms don't all automatically come with shrines and "temples," to Prunilla, as their worship is after all done primarily in nurturing the land and the family. Actual temples are pretty rare to Prunilla in the first place, as often the gardens themselves can be considered the shrines. In the case of an actual building type place, it is likely a clinic and kitchen and not a "worship here ye who plant" area.

The barley patch behind that house in Hlint would be a nice place to kneel down and offer praise to the Lady Comfort... ;)

*winks* That 2 million or so thus far to Dorand's temple is mostly from Bjorn, Ozy and Goldwin Blacknight, in case Tak was wondering.  It's mostly silver jewelry and black platinum stormtrooper platemails, assorted weapons and whatever else we didn't want to bog down the economy with.  The funniest donations were about 3 full boxes of decapitated desert giant heads and a 6-pack of the Bloody Lash wounding whips.
I like to keep the High Hammer on his toes. :P
