Single quest sessions that I have run during the past 2 months will eventually turn into a series - likely a series that will run for several months, both due to its nature and my busy schedule these days. I will aim for a set day each week, but likely it will not be possible. Still, I ask people to attend only if they plan to attend to several sessions.
I will be aiming to run these on Saturdays/Sundays, around noon or late afternoon GMT. Days and times depend on my availability.
Before you sign up, read carefully through the following statements.
- I will be making the rules. I will not go into discussions if you for instance believe that your character should have had a chance to see through his illusion, to have dodged that arrow, etc. If things happen suddenly, your back is turned, or any other reason I see as valid for my judgement, I will make the call. Of course, if there is an exceptionally good reason why you character should not be affected, or whatever, I will listen to it.
I am aware that this is taken out of context and possibly difficult to understand, but there will be calls along the way where you will likely feel unfairly treated. Consider everything before you get worked up over such things.
- Bring your wits with you. Not every battle can be won - not every enemy should be fought - not everything is as it seems.
- Try to pay attention to factors outside of the game. Do not sneak in broad daylight over an open field - even though you skill says you are likely to succeed, there are no shadows to hide in and you will be spotted.
Another example happened on a previous quest series (the Hunt) where the party allowed a very dangerous enemy to follow them to a meeting with an NPC for a peaceful conversation. The party members ordered the enemy to sheathe her sword. She did this, but they should have disarmed her. What happened later was that she drew her sword and killed the NPC.
Because you cannot see her sword in hand, does not mean she does not have it. Emote what you do - exactly what you do - or things may stay hidden from you.
- Give me time to respond. I will try to allow more than 10 people on these quests, but only for as long as people don't interrupt each other and don't spam me with skill checks and emotes. Let one person work at a time, or I will lower the number of people allowed on the quests.
- Roleplay your alignment.
- Roleplay your atributes.
- This is not going to be a walkthrough. People who have attended my previous quests will likely be nodding right now. I am not going to hand you solutions for high wisdom, intelligence or lore rolls. Failure is a very possible outcome to this series and if you don't make it, you simply don't. Frustration will get you nowhere. As stated earlier I will not be handing clues out for good rolls. You will have to work with what I have given you previously and with what you see before you.
- Take notes during the quests. If quest series run for months you are not going to remember what took place during the first sessions. Names, locations and numbers will have been forgotten and a high wisdom roll will not let you remember them in this series. I have helped people out in the past, but I will not do it again. If you forget stuff, you may fail due to that.
- There will be deaths, many deaths. Tokens are likely. Not only will there be deaths due to fighting dificult oponents, but there will be deaths due to circumstances and the way things are set out before you. Having a powerful/smart/wise character will not be enough for everyone to stay alive.
- PvP will likely happen along the way.
- At some point the quest will be locked for several sessions. No new characters will be allowed and no exceptions made, and at that point your characters will be in a place that does not allow you to play them until they are out of that place. I will, of course, try to run these quests within a short span of RL time, but I will not make any promises at this point.
This is all I can come up with right now
. This series will be challenging, character developing and hopefully a good time for everyone attending it.
