Lightfoot halflings are a small race of people, but they make up for their short stature through many other useful characteristics. They are a a clever, enterprising, adaptable and extremely resourceful people, and what they lack in strength, they make up in agility.  Halflings are about the same height as gnomes, standing at around 3 feet tall, but they have an even lighter frame, weighing, on average, 30 pounds.  Their adaptable nature means they can assimilate themselves into any civil community on Layonara with minimal problems. Due to this carefree adaptability, you will find halflings in settlements across the world. While dwarves and gnomes value their facial hair, halflings rarely grow beards. Halflings are longer-lived than humans, but compared to other races they have a below-average life expectancy of about 270 years. Their adaptability also makes them good, solid adventurers, and their curious nature often drives them to the adventuring life.
Lightfoot halflings tend to form matriarchal nomadic clans that gravitate to places where work can be found or new unexplored lands. The mother of the clan, also known as the Story Teller, normally leads the clan in a collective direction. She also represents the clan in case of conflict and is in charge of passing the knowledge they have gained to next generations. Halfling families tend to be composed of a husband and a wife, but many clans have no qualms with a female having several husbands.
