Just don't go nuts with them, please.  Now and then when appropriate is cool.  At every opportunity or spamming several in a row is just annoying.

Agreed. Though occasionally, a string of various people trying out their voicesets can be amusing... If not (at all) conducive, usually, to good RP.

For making me laugh. :)

I'm very liberal with the Thanks button; it's my way to say, well, thanks for a good post. Something that I agree with, or feel should have been said, or... Well, made me laugh.

Though this is totally off-topic.

Wooohoo!  *pats himself on the back* Thanks mate.  I'm sure i really did have something great to say, though i can't quite rememeber it now.

Okay, now after a moment of sillyness i'll let you all get on with Dezza's post.

*walks off grinning*

Unfortunatly for mages and clerics. Macro is a waste of a valuable slot. PnP, I tried to get that program running, well running it does, fine, but maybe its jsut me but it is realy complicated to set it up to run with your selected lines ingame. Maybe i just need the version with the french Help file hehe.

Rp'ing/typing during combat???  Explains all the stones I've seen lately.

Thats not fair to say that. I have a few characters that are melee combat characters and I have always been able to type during combat at the odd occasion. I have seen some of the gravestones of people dying as a DM and a player and no its not because they were typing. On the most part it was because they miscalculated some spawns.  In fact a lot of the time, they just go to the creatures and bash.

To date, I have *rarely* seen  RP while fighting. The only that I have seen is PnP with his giant and now I have seen his little secret with that macro program I fully intend to explore that side of things with my characters to add some spice to the mix of things.

Not sure if the direction this thread has taken follows the point that Dezza was making in his initial post.

RP before the combat, during (if it's your thing, if not, then don't), after. I, for one, am not great at super fast typing during combat, but my main character LOVES to pass facetious comment/s as soon as it's over.

Last night at the bottom of the Haven mines;

Arkolio de'Averlain: *looks down at his smooth and unmarked skin before glancing at the badly bleeding Sallaron, flashing a wide grin* Wow buddy! You sure copped a few hits there!

If I had tried to type that during the combat I would most likely have died a swift and horrible death.
RP on the way to the next room. Down the corridor. Along the road. Whatever suits.

And then there's Rhynn running around poking Ark with her healing belt because he's just so inadiquate at taking care of himself ;)

Kidding. I wish I was able to get this macro thing to work. You'd think someone who understood html wouldn't loose patience with it so quickly. Anyway, as I think I have stated before, it wouldn't make much sense for Rhynn anyway unless I programed some magical mumbo jumbo!

Yes....I found that very funny Ark *chuckles*
But not as funny as:

Arkolio de'Averlain:  *being chased by Giants* Argh....Sall....save me!!

But yeah...get a few Macros' thrown in for Battle Emotes. Dont wanna charge in....type a message....then look up to find your characters died during typing.

" For the Longstrider! "
" Pagger the Buggers!"

Same goes for shape-shifters...

" Latches onto the giants arms, nearly ripping it off"
" Bites and claws viciously"

And of course....for Mages

" Veradu....Klatta....*coughs the rest*"

But at least you make the RP occur before during aafter combat. I agree totally, but to say that make the assumption that all the stones seen around was because of people typing RP is a bit sweeping.

Well, this thread sure explained why Kinai's always the only one chattering away during combat while everyone else is focused.
