Hello all,
Seeking feedback from the community about an idea. I am interested in posting links to -public- CDT threads from social media sites that feature RP in it's various forms. CDT threads are creations of your content despite being on Layonara's site and I don't want to post something out there and assume that the public nature means that it's alright. *gestures vaguely*
So I'd like to hear feedback from you folks if there's any interest in this kind of thing. Some points to cover.
1- The same permissions would be required for viewing, no alteration would be made for this.
2- Issues of favoritism please be left behind. I/we recognize that there's all kinds of different types of RP and the focus is more about featuring that diversity rather than any sort of rewarding for any perceived quality.
3- Metagaming - if we begin this featurette process and those that give us permission to repost find that they might be having issues of metagaming among the every day RP, just like any other incident of such issues, we would have you bring those concerns to the GM team so that we can moderate as necessary. Sometimes it is metagaming, and sometimes it isn't. Just sorting through that with mediation eases a lot of unnecessary (and usually unintentional) stress.
4- If we move forward with this, we'd post once or twice a week, and only from a list of peoples who elected to share in this way. This is an experiment and we'll only pursue it if it sees mutually beneficial for everyone to have a little community share (and maybe a little breath of Layo during working hours? Anyone need that extra fix? Heh). If it becomes problematic for volunteers, you'd also be welcome to change your mind and remove yourself from the list of permissions.
5 - If we move forward with this I am also looking at sharing similarly from the Poetic shares and Galleries, just from the list of those who give us permission to do so.
There's some other things but I'd like to hear you guys before I delve into this too much! So what are your thoughts?

If a person gave their permission for this, would the realm of possible sellected works be inclusive of CDT's past, present, and future, or would it be limitted to just current works?
Additionally, could permissions be limitted to CDT's of a specific character(s) of a single player, or would it be an all-or-nothing sort of thing?
Which social media platforms would be used, and could players choose on which of those social media platforms they wish their CDT's to be shared (or would it a be an all-or-nothing thing)?

I'm flexible on this. I'd honestly love it of we could draw up posts from the distant pasts just as much as current events but I'll take whatever is offered by the players.

Certainly it can be on a limited scale.

For now, the social media would be Twitter, Facebook and G+. Who reads these, still goes per our forum permissions. I just did a quick check and it looks like anything that's posted in the public CDT forum is open to the internet, which means they are likely coming up in relevant searches anyway. (I should have checked that to start with, silly me.) I can give the specific-to-social-media-format a try, I'm certainly open to the concept. I'd be tracking this on an editable spreadsheet so I don't see why we couldn't for now. Depending on how this moves, I could see it needing to be an all or nothing social media permissions at some point but if it sticks around and if it gets to that place, I'd communicate that to the community.

Alright, the response has been pretty favorable. So here's the deal.
If you're in, I'd like this filled out and posted below. I'm going to go ahead and include galleries and the poetic license forums. A few stipulations I will use upon posting. Like I said before, I'm looking for RP features. That will include all sorts of things from screen captures in the gallery, to artwork inspired by RP, journal entries of various types and nicely written poetry. I will avoid using segments that have material that are close to the Family Friendly line. This isn't anything bad per se, I just am choosing to do that at this time.
Additionally, I have a separate template people can use to nominate someone else's post. If you read something you really like and would like for the rest of the community to take a gander on their lunch break, please fill out the nomination form and then we'll get in touch with the person in question to see if they are interested in the featurette share.

I feel these are the better of my journals that I kept, because they were some of my favorite characters. As incomplete as they are, some characters die off as time pass simply because there was no more room for them in the changing world. Richard's Journal was especially interesting and fun to write. Gealron's submission post was the longest and most creative I ever wrote (imho), and perhaps it too is a good read.

While I do admit that both presented CDTs need to be worked on, I hope that there are some enjoyable posts among them that give a good insight into who these two characters are and what they do.
Kaelan's CDT is not really developed yet, of course, if somebody finds a readable and understandable post in it, you are free to post and link it as well.
