I agree. Duur always tries to put away his chopur unless he gets muddled and forgets, which does happen from time to time, but what can you expect? ;)
Of course he also likes to show off his chopur on occation, but then puts it back. He also tries to walk slowly through town unless he really is in a big hurry.
Personally I'd like to see more people walk through town instead of running frantically from one end to the other. I can understand a hyper gnome zipping around, but really, why would your average person need to be running all the time?
Duur does run on occation, but that's only when he gets it into his think skull that he needs to get somewhere quickly, or when I need to log off *now* but want to get something done really quickly. "Yes dear, I'm coming, just one second. Really, I'll be right there."

Cattery:
I'll definitely agree about sheathing weapons and such within a town, but there are some characters that will wear their armours regardless owing to their personality, and even beliefs.  I wouldn't want to try it with plate mail, etc, but leather armours, etc. are actually a prescribed set of clothing for Katia (I think) followers.

Nyralotep:
Gwydion, my Battle Priest/Undead slayer of Vorax wears his armor except when he's sleeping.  All my characters put their weapons away in town though.  And my other characters put on regular clothes in town, well except Zup....he just feels comfy in his crag cat armor, all supple and such..heh.

Zhofe:
I usually put my weapons away in town (sometimes even on the road) but I don;t see why my character would take his armor off, especially since usually he is just in town for a while. Though there are times when I walk around in just my clothes, I don't think that removal of armor should be enforced. Also, for some people, weapons wouldn't make sense, I mean, where are you going to keep that 7 foot warhammer? In your back pocket? Just my thoughts though. I put my weapon away and take off my helmet almost all the time I am in town, and make a habit of removing my helmet whenever I am talking to people.

Just my 2 copper.

Fian Bearsark:
Yes to sheathed weapons and yes to walking through towns ( its easy if you're a rogue like Drawna who can just put on Detect Mode when in a town). I'm suprised to see a lot of seasoned characters walking around with their weapons out. Once I got laughed at for carrying a torch at night in the town so I could see (I guess that's not "cool"), but few people get criticized for brandishing weapons.
