Lost Lore
« on: June 29, 2009, 08:19:19 am »
A rather powerful mix of adventurers met at North Point before organising an expedition to the Ruins of Madness. There they report they found the tomb of the singing minotaur of some local repute. They report the coffin was apparently empty. But could they have missed anything! One wonders what might still lie down there.

As such - there was only the slightest of murmering among the academic bards interested in such historical finds. A spokeswoman for the historical Aragenite society did not predict an expedition would visit that dangerous place anytime soon! So what of the adventuring world I wonder.

Somewhat late in the day The Daily Bard of Willows Weep put up 100 true for any further information.

The daily Bard has been busy, it seems they had to pay out 100 true to a Druid called Verydeaf or some such, who provided some useful information.

A few days later a group of Wilds Barbarians claimed a 100 true to report finding the remains of a smashed coffin within the Singing woods Minotaur complex. They report soemone had been digging underneath it -but nothing was there, whatever had been there was gone.

An elderly lecturer at Spelgard Borin Sthorees realises he has missed an input he intended to give on the Lost Lore known as Five secrets of five. As such he opted to post the following for those interested parties who missed events.

Along with another student, Peetre Peervict I studied this document as part of our studies. It remains dull boring and the work of a dangerous madman or perhaps a reckless student. However it bore all the hallmarks of those spellcasters we call dangerous and irresponsible who did not want his thoughts and works to be forgotten.

I hear a new generation of students are interested in this work and it seems the author will have his wish then - but I caution you to undertake only proper study, as reckless spell summoning will only broker ill. Why my fellow student succumbed to the dark path and became obsessed with the document beleiving he could cheat honest toil by understanding it. He made little of life and was last heard of among a palemaster sect on the Dragon Isles.

No that is not the way to go I urge you if you must study this document then seek sound counsel at Spellgard and do not idly cast spells in it's name.

//as of most recent server reset (an hour or so ago) there are clues in game relating to this series. They will remain as long as server remains up.

A rumour circulates around the Dragon Isles of  palemasters brought to justice having been found in in foul alliance with dark Elves. What became of their combined belongings is not clear.

Three new rumours persist around the lore hunting world.

It is whispered one of the five coins of the the pirate captain may have been foolishly given away at auction.

Modern day pirates are scouring Krashin. They were overheard to say they were looking for the old Captain's coin.

Recent documentation that has come to light suggests that Old Captain Twinkltoes - one of the five captains, did not die at sea as thought but retired to live out his life in the Spirit Dunes on Mistone.

//Clues will likely remain in game while server remains up for the latter 2, clues about the first is in PCs heads - should you have an inclination to ask around.

 Open to all.

A Toranite expedition into the far corners of the Spirit Dunes came across some dead treasure hunters and the remains of a horde belonging to one Captain Twinkletoes, a pirate of old. Seems like someone had beaten them to the treasure.

A last and final coin is in game while server is up. Clues as to it's whereabouts are in place. They are thin on the ground and some game and location knowledge may be required.

A last chance to seize a coin and join the treasure hunt!

A rumour starting in Fort Wayfare suggests a group of mercenaries, possibly sea faring types, has recovered the so called 5th pirate coin. What they have done with it is not been made clear. The coins are saild to be the key to a Pirate's treasure.

A group of land locked adventurers and a group of Dark elves also seemed to be involved in this search. It is not known if they were linked to the Off shore searchers.

Rumours persist on Alindor that a sea Going captain died at sea and his demise related  to a collection of coins he sought. Others claim it was a fall out among thieves when a pirate treasure was uncovered.

Elsewhere Aragenite scholars report extensive studies have revealed the tale known as  five secrets of five contains no useful lore. It is believed to be a work of fiction. If it houses any secrets they are hidden within the text. For the actual story makes no real sense.

Within the forests of Alindor it is said other artifacts fell into bandit hands as the Aragenite collectors have gone missing.

maybes aye and maybes no (refers to previous post) but what can be confirmed  - is that clues have been put back in game after recent server reset! all you need to do is find them....well actually a few things after that as well but you get the idea.
