Attack on Ulgrid's Fortress

* a call goes out to all the dwarves of Mistone for assistance at the fortress *

Ulgrid's Fortress was viciously attacked by a wave of undead led by a woman dressed in black silken robes.  Many of Ulgrid's finest fell in the battle and have been supplemented by troops from Brenuth.  The woman demanded the turn over of all kin from the Headbang clan in exhange for a truce with the fortress.  Women and children kin have been evacuated to Bloody Gate until this threat has passed.

*a dwarf clad in the silver and red armor of a battlepriest is seen passing through Brenuth and heading towards the Fortress, carrying various bags and gear of war*

*A samurai in red and white armor sees the notice and gathers his meager possessions and beings prayerful preparations for battle*

*mutters in an eastern dialect* No foul thing as this will lay siege to the fortress and temple of Vorax and go unpunished.  I may not be dwarf kin but I am Voraxian and will stand with my brothers against this abomination.

The Eyes of Vorax return to Ulgrids to learn more of the attack.

"Aye, I will track dem down."

"Skullcracker.  Aye I know of one, dat one be be prime kuldjargh material."

Within hours a fierce eyed dwarf is surveying the scene pouring over the tracks.

The attacks on the Fortress have ceased.  However, the Fortress remains at an elevated state of readiness during this time as women and children are escorted back to their homes from the Bloody Gate.

Dwarves are cautioned to travel in groups in the mountains as some dwarves have been cursed and animated as undead creations.  Report any unusual sightings or undead activity in the mountains to Hulkah Axenfawn of Ulgrid's Fortress.

Grovel is pleased to join friend Skullcracker in this holy of wars, just as he helped me brothers against the kobolds and the Ur-Wolves.  There will be no trials or mercy for this Laura blight, she will be purged by axe and claw and fire and light!  She will PAY for daring to attack one protected by Grovel's pack, and for her defilement of all things nature!

"Greetings Traveller.  I seek the dwarf known as Skullcracker Headbanger.  He appears as a a zombie.  There is a simple cure to remove the curse upon him."

A dark haired woman in a blue cloak is sometimes seen listening with greater than average interest to rumors surrounding the attack on Ulgrid's Fortress or the woman known as Laura.

The woman, known to some as Jaelle and others simply as the "blue witch", seems to prefer listening to others over venturing her own opinion on the matter. If asked to comment, she makes some polite excuse. Her face is ever a mask of inscrutable calm, rarely betraying her true thoughts on the matter.
