Dragon attack in Tilmar
« on: November 15, 2011, 07:51:30 am »
Reports are spreading via merchants and travellers of a dragon attack in Tilmar.

Soldiers at Fort Morlass in Tilmars eastern coast in Telish lands were thrown into disarray as an enraged deep purple coloured dragon suddenly appeared in the skies above the fort having flown at them straight out of the Redlands.

The beast breathed hellish clouds of gas into the fishing village near the Fort forcing dozens to flee the creatures wrath. Then it set upon the Fort itself tearing blocks from the battlements and casting them out to sea before turning and flying back into the Redlands where it was observed for two or more days circling the desert sands roaring in a combination of anger and frustration before it finally disappeared.

A dozen soldiers were killed and a score more wounded from the creatures attack. The small fishing village was all but destroyed including a ship belonging to one of the Mistite Tides that had been anchored there for more than several weeks. A handful of villagers suffered acid burns from the creatures breathe with four other villagers dead.

*Tralek Rivarmar, who hails from Sunset Lake in the Telish Throne, gathers up a scouting and tracking party to set out after the Purple.  He is familiar with the North East Tilmar region and takes with him friends and other elves that know the area as well as him and better.  They keep a fairly low profile, following the leads, asking around and making their way to each of the sighting areas.  They travel to the Fort Morllass and the villages nearby.  They give aid when and where they can but press on in their search.  To the Redlands and the deserts.

They use their combined knowledge of the area, along with size and strength of the Purple dragon and other clues picked up along the way to try to theorize where it might have perched or laired up.  They also try during their outings to find out why this attack occured and what might have provoked it.  They would ask villagers, landowners, Fort personel and others they meet along the way, as well as drawing on their own knowledge of the area.*

*As the runner reaches for Lance with the news in the fields , he frowns a bit*  Seems that they finally are showing themselves. *he pens a fast note and ask the runner to deliver the note to Daniella Stormhaven as well, then he sets to keep working on the field he has been overseeing and prepare his way to Huangjin.*

When Daniella receives the messenger, she frowns.  "So they're attacking people now?  Tell them I'm on my way."

She then heads immediately for Huangjin and sends advance warning to ready Toran's military in case they are needed, sending another message to the Mido of the Telish Throne, notifying him that they are willing to provide aid.

*Tralek makes his way back from the Redlands and Fort Morllass with his scouting patrol.  He speaks to the Dockmaster and/or other captains or sailors at the port where the village was destroyed.  He would ask about a group of Mistites that had sailed from there recently after the dragon attack and what their destination was and who was with them.

Tralek sends a runner to the Toranite temple in Huangjin to explain that he spoke to the Castellan at Fort Morllass that told him the dragon still roams the Redlands seeming to be searching for something.  Also, that a group of Mistites had been in the town after the attack and found their ship destroyed.  That they then chartered a new ship and left the harbor.*
