Deja vu?
« on: October 01, 2015, 12:35:20 am »
Connor looks up from the book he was reading and lays it on the long couch resting in front of his fireplace. His eyes seem to be looking into the distance, unfocused and unblinking, looking at something only he can see. He senses a familiar presence walking into Layonara through a portal that opens and closes within seconds… a very powerful Pit Creature named Dalianavera. She is somewhere in the vicinity of Center.-------Close to midnight in an outlying section of Center, white lines of pure Al’Noth spider web out from a point on the ground. There is a sharp shockwave and thunderclap, then a well formed and apportioned female in green scale armor appears in a crouched position with her right hand on the ground. A long barbed tail swings back and forth, small bat-like wings peek out of her cloak, and small horns protrude through her raven colored hair. Nobody sees her as she quickly disappears into the darkness and shadows. She knew she had to move fast… the one who walked the planes in this world would know she was here.-------Vincent was fast asleep after a long night of drinking and boasting at the Bullseye. Like most nights he was haunted by dreams of the Pit Creature. His body still felt the ache of her touch... and his heart of her absence. He tossed and turned… sweating. He dreamed that she was caressing his skin, breathing whispered words into his ear. He suddenly sat up in bed, jerked awake by some premonition of something amiss. In his dark room he could see white curtains illuminated by moonlight and fluttering in a light breeze. The window was wide open. He was sure it was closed and locked when he went to bed. For some reason his back was now very sore… as if he had pulled several muscles. He tells himself he was probably sleeping at a bad angle and quickly forgets it. He hears a short thunderclap in the distance and thinks it strange, as the night sky is clear and full of stars.-------Connor notes that the portal opens and closes again near Center not long after the first event. He cannot sense anything further after this.

Vincent had grown accustomed
« Reply #1 on: October 02, 2015, 10:50:07 am »

Vincent had grown accustomed to the unusual. The unusual was normal now wasn't it. This is getting confusing he thought and reached for a morning drink to clear his head. But his back ached. He dreaded the prospect of sharing a search of his back with staff at the Inn. Things had a habit of getting out of hand - he had been forced to leave in something of a hurry last time, and the Inn a little worse for fire damage too.

People seldom understood the life of a specialist. He would have his familiar look but Tergiversitor was as usual of little help. A familiar with a mind of his own was little use really for most things. In this case he had ben absent for weeks and Vincent's repeated calls for him to return had been unsurprisingly unanswered.

He risked a look at his back with a small mirror he held for just such emergencies!

Tyrra makes a note to herself

Tyrra makes a note to herself to avoid Center at all costs until whatever cosmic force that is making it a center for trouble finds somewhere else to go, but sends a falcon to her father, knowing he's all to keen to battle the cosmos for eternity.

After narrowly avoiding
« Reply #3 on: October 06, 2015, 10:40:13 pm »

After narrowly avoiding several cramping muscles from maintaining less than normal angles of arms and twisting of body, Vincent gets a good peek at his back. The spot in question, under his left shoulder blade, looks healthy and uninjured. His only assumption at this point is that he slept on it wrong and has a minor ache resulting from the pressures on that spot on his body.

Vincent continues to prepare

Vincent continues to prepare for a specialist day, less worried than before and yet he muses as he gathers the tools of his trade, a sword here, a cloak there, rings of choice, all sparkling with the touch of the Al'Noth "Yes, yes I know it couldn't have been nothing! it seems like I am going crazy." He lifts a collection of belongings crammed into an impossibly small bag. "It's probably nothing but all night I've heard creaking thuds and what sounded like howls." He straps on a belt and instantly gains a stronger disposition - all the better to carry his ever burgeoning load."What does this mean..I know I shouldn't torment myself but..." He reaches for the door an unfinished thought trailing in his wake, lingering.
