*A letter sent to a certain doctor... *

Oraculum Stipatio,

The time has come I believe to make a decisive move. The events in the Silkwood resulted in unexpected consequences. It seems the bandit population was significantly roused and caused much chaos. Like how a careless spark can start a forest fire, our involvement triggered something unexpected. Such is the way of the Mortis Mentis. It seems as if the bandits attacked the areas around Hlint and Echo, resulting in a people's army being formed of three regiments: Ragrian's Halberdiers, Munny's Foot, Morrison's Rangers and a number of stone-bound indignus. I chose to enlist in this army as I discovered that they would be traveling near the area of Orc's Rift, an area that I was lead to belive contained the hiding place of the Malkie dwarf that possed one of the paintings. It seems I was out of luck, as no trace of the dwarf was found. It is for this reason that I believe the next logical move would be to approach the Ravens who first gave me this task, with all the information that I have given to you. They will know more.

All was not lost though, it seems as if the ever resourceful Adder took matters into his own hands. Whilst on the campaign trail, I recived a letter from him that explained that he had sent envoys and weapons to reignite the orc's hatred for the humans. Unfortunately a few of the wagons were captured by the indignus, and with the drivers failing to recognise me I was forced to slay them all, though I only managed to destroy one of the wagons. Luckly Adder had thought ahead againts such an event and none of the items carried our mark. The orc's have retured to their warlike ways though so all is well.

I will contact you when I plan to speak to the Ravens.

Mortis Mentis guide your hate,

Well it seems it is not even safe in Hlint these days. At a gathering for war veterans at the Wild Surge Inn things got out of hand. There are rumours that drink played no small part, and that some of the halberdiers took a bit of a beating, and that the fight might have been over a lady. Meanwhile another outing of ladies were beset by some raiding orcs almost at the gates of Hlint itself.

They took refuge at a nearby house  - but it seems that did not go well either for they were soon escorted off the premises amid claims of damaged mail.

It seems the orcs are not done with Hlint yet.

In a return to the good ol' days of a hot and hospitible Hlint there was much rumour and scandel surrounding two recent engagements. Following some heavy handed husband watching by what has been described somewhat kindly it is said, as a gang of thugs, drunkards, and oppressive opportunists, the following announcements were made.

Edwin Ettinfall, huntsman will marry one Bella Berstone of lake Allun while her friend Cora Cheetin will soon marry her long term sweetheart Corvil Calhop despite rumour to the contrary. Meanwhile long time confirmed batchelor Portlie Dumas is firmly denying tales of any impending marriage.

In other news Lance Olmest-Buste drew up legal warrants for the return of a letter delivered to him and removed from his place of residence.

A band of driders were decisively repulsed by a cleric of Ilsare and a mixed bag of troops.

Orcs raiding near Hlint have finally been driven north again. Sleep well friends.

A group of bandits and robbers operating from deep in the marshes to the east of Hlint were tracked down and destroyed by a fighting patrol out of Hlint mustered by offer of reward at the behest of one of the victims, Edwin Ettinfall.

In other news local landowner Edwin was recently appointed a Royal Hunter to the court at Blackford Castle by way of reward to services to the Crown.

Merchants flowed safely and freely along the lake Allun Road bringing goods to and from a prospering Hlint.

While Captain Alicia Nefzen looks out from her high advantage point in Hlint, she sees a small posse approach from the east. She quickly scrambles down the platform and heads towards the group.

After conversing with the group she sends Lt Astork and some of the local trackers to go with them. A few hours later posters pop up mentioning a reward for the capture of a Dark Elf Archer dressed in Dark grey and purple.
