Those who frequent places of magical knowledge and learning would have seen and heard a lot of activity in such places. What's spoken of is new magic being unlocked, of rumored spells of terrific and as-yet unseen power.
Some wizards scoff at rumors that it was the work of a sorceress, while others swear that it is true. Others give credit to a mighty dwarven wizard, though still others discount the idea, saying dwarves lack the subtlety for such sophisticated weavings.
Whatever the case, there's enough similarities and belief in the rumors to make even the skeptical take notice and wonder. Likely, only a few know the truth, and even fewer know the whole truth.
