The Velvet Cloak
« on: November 20, 2011, 03:00:03 am »
In the derelict alleys and taverns across Mistone, posters are placed all around disseminating a simple message:

We're offering work.
May be very dangerous. May be mundane.
Very good compensation.
Choose your poison:

Gloomwoods Castle, Co'rys - Look for Alistair
Broken Halls, Trelania - Look for Bram
Dragon Isles, Caesin Docks - Look for Velen

Bring the flyer with you when you approach our agents.
No flyer, no accommodation.

The best of luck to you all!

The Velvet Cloak

//This is an RP series aimed for low-level shady character types but I encourage everyone to join the fun. Feel free to RP in-game, investigate, and brainstorm but much of the series will occur on the forums. There will be no quest times, if there is a need to go in-game, whatever it is that's needed will remain in-game for as long as the server is online.

The goal here is to provide interesting development and interaction between characters that would not normally go together. I implore you to not automatically look at this as another one of Ni'haer's shady schemes (actually it is), but rather as an opportunity for your characters to grow. Imagine the fun that can be had with this experiment. Good luck to you all!

One of the flyers is gone from its posting, and a darkly armoured elf starts asking questions at the Caesin Docks.

//Nym is gunna see if this merchant company pays better and gives a better deal than the last ;)

//Just a gentle nudge: We will begin once each slot has been filled with at least two characters. From there on, we'll just squeeze in more folks with the age-old "find a good reason to be there" stint. Unfortunately, once the folks have been too far down the rabbit hole, it will have to be closed until further notice. So go on and choose your poison! Once you've chosen, please feel free to post. :)

*Staring at the poster in the Vehl Bar for a good while, she finally decides to take one down. From the docks of Vehl, she takes the next ship to find Velen.*

*A man with an strange look and a metallic arm is seen around the area and tilting his head, he looks at the posters *

Perhaps we can save more people who thinks that are undead... **he takes the poster out and go towards The gloomwood castle area* .. . . . Now this would be a great chance to put to use to that reformed bully *As he plays with a loop made of red hair *

**reading the letter that just arrived Lacee ventures into town and pulls a poster down and smiling to herself she packs her bags and heads out to meet her dear friend Armand.**

**barely a whisper**

This is so exciting to be able to work with him. I wonder how his projects are going? It's time to catch up with him and find out.

??*Melody (While Invisible) sees Armand looking at a poster and watches what he does.  As he runs off she wanders up and takes a look at the poster. She takes the same flier from the pile as Armand (Gloomwoods) does and wanders off a short ways to read it more closely.  While doing so, she sees Lacee do the same and run off after Armand and mutters quietly*  Looks like trouble waiting to happen ... I better follow behind and help pull their butts out of the frying pan.  *And she skitters off after them.* ??

Night charters a ship to Caesin, and upon arrival tells the locals he is looking for a man named Velen.  He has a personal matter to discuss, and will pay well for good information.

Tane ask what posters say, and ask for note to be sent on Gloomwood

Tane want undead gone in Gloom

// Tane would like to attend if he can add value and make it based on schedule

//Seeing the people post almost brought a heartbeat to Ni'haer's otherwise non-existent heart. We're just waiting for two more folks to sign up for the Dark Peaks of the Watcher before we begin!
Oh and here are some new developments:
 • Only one (1) character per player since multiple characters in separate places would be prone to metagaming and conflicting interests.
 • We'll be seeing more in-game time since I've just finished developing the story-arc through different plot-points. In-game time may range between:

1. Actual quest with any readily-available GM (Short quest, 1 - 2 hours tops)
2. Persistent quest wherein player initiative can solve a current plot line, i.e. Party A (Nym'roos, Night, Rory, etc. log-on and go to the Dragon Isles in search of the Magic Ladle of Mortimer.) If you are to do this, please do follow-up with a PM and/or a post in the thread.

Here' the world time for the events this coming weekend:

Event Time Announcer

My times are very much flexible since I'll be staying home for the whole weekend to fix stuff. I can log-on at any time during those days from 8AM to 5PM Perth, Western Australia time. If need be, I'll move the times so as to not conflict with the upcoming quests. :)

I shall exercise all diligence to be there and even if I can't be there, rest assured that the pieces will be set in place for everyone to begin their investigations.

What are you waiting for?! Come on! :D

ยด// I am seeing some events in the calendar yet The time and date links all goes to the same one, Would you be able to clarify is all the events would have been on the same days or on diferent ones?  Also The one you put for the Gloomwoods may not be good for me, just saying.

Thank you in advance for the clarification.

*Micus reads the poster a few times trying to decide where to go, and if to go at all. He then rolls it up and slips it into a pocket before making his way to the Caesin docks to look for this Velen person.*

*Maren Backwater wanders by, and reading the part about coins, rips down a flyer and goes to find his meat shield Deverian to discuss where and if they sould head off there.*

//most probably will head to Gloomwood if there is still room, second choice would be Dragon Isles//

*Leisa steps off a ship at the docks in Vehl, disappearing into the crowded docks and weaving through the hubub of populace towards the One Eyed Harpy. Checking Wheezer for messages she flicks through several documents her eyes noting the flyer. She drifts through the Inn to a quiet table and takes a moment to study it more closely. Within minutes she has left the inn again and is making her way back to the docks to catch the next ship to the Dragon Isles. Pausing only long enough to collect some vials stored in a strongbox at the Vault near the docks.*
