Hi folks,
Please mark the date 2011-05-21 in your calendars. This is the date that we are currently planning as being the day where the finale quests will take off in the Dragonstorm campaign - for good or for worse. ;)
The planning is still being finalized, but at this stage we are planning for 2 quests on 2 different servers (Hilm Castle and Stormcry Hollows). There will be a third quest, but it may be taking place at another date.
More information will be upcoming shortly. In the meantime you better start planning!
Kind regards, the Plot GM Team

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The ONE weekend I made plans to be out of town! *bangs his head on the keyboard, repeatedly*
-
Will the quests be at different times for those of us who have characters in two different locations?

The two on the 21st will most likely be at the same time, as they will represent what are essentially simultaneous efforts.
The third, yet-to-be-scheduled quest will probably take place on an earlier day and will be geared toward low-to-mid levels.
-
Currently the suggested time is listed at 3am for those of us on EST.
Can I request that time be moved please?
-
I second that motion please. 3 AM is quite early for me O.o If it is possible, can it be moved? Then again, other people will have conflict..... :(
-
Seems most folks who are regulars on that quest haven't had a problem with six or even five am? I'll do three am if I have to because later isn't good for me (heading out of town) but six am is doable.
-
It is hard to drag yourself from a nice warm bed at 3am. Luckily we have a wonderful GM like Dezza who throws awesome quests that don't make it so bad. It's going to be hard all around for sure, 3am for east coast, midnight for the west coast and 2am for cdt.
-
*mutters something*
yes . Its worth saying good bye to actually good rest on the weekend, but the effort is worth for sure.
But i see where the original request comes from.
-
So pushing it back 2 hours wont really help people?
Would 2 hours earlier be helpful?
We are currently trying to see if we can offer a slightly different time...
-
Is that Midnight CDT 1 am EDT and 10 PM PDT . right?
-
The PDT would appreciate you guys moving it back 2 hours then forward, we would have the same issue getting up at 3am if you moved it ahead.
-
Looks like I'll be sitting this one out. Two hours earlier and I am at work, as it is now and I am at work, two hours later and I'll be an hour and an half late.
Would really of liked to make the Stormcry, really really, but it's a game. I'll survive. Besides Raz might get held up in Sundance anyway. I'll just entertain myself with PM army moves, if I still have one.
Don't screw it up at the Stormcry!
-
I can move either way so far it seems the majority would like it moved forward 2-3 hours?
-
pushing it back 2 hours makes it at 1am for me, which still isn't really the best option.
What about pushing it forward 15 hours?
-
If we stick to the 21st of May, which we should (Saturday is the weekday with the best likelyhood of people being able to attend - even at late or early hours), I can move the quest to about 4 hours earlier or perhaps 2 hours later.
I will need A LOT of time for setting the stage, so that puts a limit on things.
-
This was always going to be the hard part.
If we go with four hours earlier how does that fit for people?
-
That's 10 pm cdt..Doable, but the missus won't be happy.;)
-
I know Aerimor will be at work then, but I think he expects that unfortunately.
-
Four hours earlier, two hours later...both work. I'll get up at three if I have to, ain't missing it!
-
4 hours earlier becomes middle of the night gmt...so difficult there too for that time zone.
-
well, if we move it forward 15 hours from the listed time that would put it as (correct me if I'm wrong):
PDT: 2pm Saturday
EDT: 5pm Saturday
GMT: 9pm Saturday
AEDT: 8am Sunday
-
Five edt Sat would be absolutely undoable for me - maybe Dezza/Harlas can put a poll up for the times they're willing to run and we can vote?
-
My thoughts *cringe*. I'm sure the Team has a reason for running the two Plot quests on May 21 at the exact same time...but that unfortunately means those with alternate PC's involved in the plot can't do both and will have to pick a PC to partake in the action. So, not sure, but maybe do those at different times?
On the time issue for May 21, I'm pretty flexible luckily. Seems like Aerimor and Rollins have some set plans/work...and would be nice for both of them to show. Maybe you two (aerimor and Rollins) can get together and figure a time, and see if we all could work on that? Just an idea....Peace, Love and Happiness!

I think the reason for having them at the same time is that the outcome of one may in fact affect the outcome of the other. If we know the outcome of one ahead of time, it might change the way we play the other. I also have to make this choice, but it's just something that is what it is. It's the chance we take when we get more than one character involved in plot events *winks at Dorg*

4 hours earlier would be good for me, I don't mind sacrificing some sleep for a plot finale. During the day I already have obligations that sadly are more important. But then, other people have a bigger stake in this than I do, so I'll happily await the decided hour and see if I can make it.

Yep, what Alatriel said...or something close to that anyway.
At the end of the last campaign, there were three simultaneous plot finale quests (we had more servers, so it worked out OK). While there may not have been too many people who had multiple characters involved in different aspects of the plot, there were several characters who had to choose between which finale in which they would participate.
So yep, it's a choice you have to make, for better or worse. I know that might sound harsh, but it's not meant to be.

At this point I am also planning to do a second PLot quest on the sunday so for those who missed saturday's simultaneous one the sunday one might be an option for your second character.
More details to follow on the second one but will most likely deal with any elements left over from the saturday ones.

Mountain evenings work best for me 7pm onward, but then again I am not as crucial.
I remember the last plot quest (Bloodstone), we had three concurrent quests. We had a way to pass messages if I recall (birds perhaps). It was great to get the updates from the other quests.
I will make it if I can.
-
I think I have no say in this, I could play from 12-4 mountain time on Saturday.
Really, really want to make it!
