Wren goes to Khul again.
« on: June 30, 2010, 11:03:59 pm »
As before, Wren travels to Kuhl. He goes dressed  in plain but nice clothes and poses as a solder turned merchant. He  goes to spend time among the people and get a feel for what they are  feeling. He will frequent inns, taverns, merchant halls, and temples to  see what he can learn. He does not overly question people but strikes up  polite conversation and sees where it leads. He uses what Ferrit has taught to "blend" into the darker parts of the  cities he visits. He will also try to take note of city defenses and any troop movements. But he is not scouting, he is more getting a feel for life in khul and picking up any rumors off the street. Wren was once part of the Network and from them learned how to gather information while not really trying to be covert.

In his travels he will visit as many cities (Sulkin, Ash, Phal, Tammil, Tulam, Westgate, Zolinar, Amaria, and Vilsa) as he can make it to in three months of travel.

*Wren is approached before even crossing very far into Kuhl and challenged for documents authenticating his citizenship in Kuhl. Without the proper documents he is escorted back to the border and refused entry. He is given a large wad of paperwork to fill out and file with the border guards before he will even be considered to be allowed into Kuhl.

He is dutifully informed that he may try to sneak into Kuhl but that if anyone sees him he will be executed for espionage and as a spy.

*As Wren fills out the proper paper work he also sends a letter to his good friend Raz, with a note asking him to get it to the statue lady. The letter sent to Raz is addressed to Raz my old dance partner and is signed Bob "Crazy Bird" Cutter."

Dear statue lady,

It seems much has changed in Khul. Where before the Kuhl leaders allowed a very open market and the coming and going of traders was quite free. They have locked down the boarders now. As I told you, a year or so after the new leaders of Khul ascended to power I traveled the cities conducting free trade. Free trade and black market trade was rampant and encouraged. Even the criminal gangs had a very wide allowance. Only if one of them got too strong or extremely bold did the Kuhl leaders step in and a swiftly dispense of them. But the traders prospered and the markets were filled with items from all the world. It was a good place to make trade and business. Now I have been given a pile of paper work to fill out just to enter. Oh and they also gave a clear warning about anyone trying to sneak into Khul and that they would find a swift death if caught, as if anyone would be foolish enough to attempt that. I will try to attend to the paper work as best I can so that I may go one with my business.

Cheers,
Bob "Crazy Bird" Cutter

//Please let me know what information Wren needs to supply to gain entry. Also the above statements were from Haralas when Wren last traveled Khul, after the invasion.

Wren sifts through the paper work to see what information is needed.

After filling out the paperwork, which made Wren's head hurt, Wren paid the appropriate bribes and enters Kuhl. Wren makes sure to keep his papers with him expecting to be challenged at every gate.

//As per Dezza's PM

He then set back on his mission to gather information on the general aspects of life in Kuhl and will pick up any information he can from taverns and market places on the military (he will be very low key on the military information search).

On life in kuhl he is looking to see the state of things for the Kuhl people he is also listening for any anti government rumblings. He is looking to see if the markets are still very active.

On the military he is listening for how life is in the military for the people of Kuhl. Are they still recruiting heavily? Is the military still paying top dollar?

If he can he will take note of how fortified the cites that he visits are (Sulkin, Ash, Phal, Tammil, Tulam, Westgate, Zolinar, Amaria, and Vilsa).

After being gone for a few months Wren returns from Kuhl. He goes home, cleans up, and rests. After a day or so he sets out for Fort Llast in search of Dani.
