Rules for Hazard

Begin by rolling the appropriate die to determine the starting player.  Lowest number rolls first.  The person holding the dice is called the Caster.

The caster specifies a number between 5 and 9 inclusive; this is the Main.

The caster places his bet that he will roll the Main.

The caster rolls two six-sided dice one at a time.  If the caster rolls:

     -the Main, he wins his bet and an amount equal to it.

     -a 2 or a 3, he loses his bet; dice pass to next player.

     -an 11 or 12, the result depends on the Main:

   -if the Main was a 5 or 9, caster loses bet;

   -if the Main was a 6 or 8, caster loses on an 11 and wins on a 12;

   -if the Main was a 7, caster wins with 11 and loses on a 12.

Quick Reference:

Main is 5: Win on a 5, lose on a 2, 3, 11, or 12

Main is 6: Win on 6 or 12, lose on 2, 3, 11

Main is 7: Win on 7 or 11, lose on 2, 3, 12

Main is 8: Win on 8 or 12, lose on 2, 3, 11

Main is 9: Win on 9, lose on 2, 3, 11, 12

If the caster neither wins or loses, the number thrown is called the Chance and the caster throws again:

     -if the caster rolls the Chance they win;

     -if the caster rolls the Main they lose;

If neither the Chance or Main are rolled, caster rolls until either the Chance or Main is rolled and in addition:

     -a 2 always loses

     -if 11 or 12 are rolled, consult rules above to determine win or lose

Tournament and Betting:

Bets are placed between the caster, audience and the House.  Audience may bet that the caster will win or lose.  The caster may only bet that they’ll win.

In the event the caster does not win or lose, additional bets can be placed by the audience that the caster will either win or lose.  A bettor cannot bet both win and lose in the same betting round.

In tournaments, the House collects the True and backs bets one to one.[/FONT]
