As many know, the town of Kartherian is often full of crimes.  In order to be well protected from those who would wish to lighten loot chests, many go so far as to put traps on their doors when they sleep at night, instead of just your normal locks.  Rumor has it that the creation of these belts were inspired by what a cleric of Shadon saw one dismal night on the docks.

It was from the shadows that eve, this priest of Shadon perred, content with himself after a successful night of his own trickery and mischief.  He caught a glimpse of a young raven-haired elf whom he began to watch curiously as she stepped from hiding to pick the lock of the front door of the house.  Obviously from out of town, or perhaps just so excited that she picked the lock, the elf failed to realize the door was trapped.

Once unlocked, she tried to open the door, only to set off an intense electrical trap.  Although she tried to escape, she was just not quick enough to retreat from the lightning's bolts and ended up falling to a shocking death.

The cleric laughed at her mishap, but was inspired to create an item that might help with the retreat of such situations.  In thanks of the idea, and in his amusement, the cleric raised the elf and sent her on her way simply saying, "Don't do that."

This is one of those belts, inspired from that night long ago.
