*written on very plain parchment, the letters blocky but neatly printed.  A small monogram, which looks like the letters "FW" printed in a glowing golden ink adorn the lower left corner.  In tiny letters next to the fancy emblem are the words "Farwall Scribe House, Pranzis"*   Emerald For Sale

This emerald in mineral form is for sale by Daren Valhaikor, by means of public auction.  The bidding will end at midnight on the 4th of Novlar.

Anybody else see the gross jump in price inside of one bid? Come on, lets get real!
*shakes head sadly*  Yet another that has no care whatsoever on the economy.
-----this is a legit bid since it was made-----

//In Kayla's defense, previous emerald, which was sold not so long ago (like a week in RT), was sold for roughly 80k - 100k worth in gold.  They consisted of high caliber items and gold.  Since Kayla does not do any crafting, all she has to offer was 60k in gold.  It's not like she doesn't care about Layo's economy.  It's that she knows if she offer something like 17k or 20k in gold, her offer would have been beaten in a blink of an eye.  I just wanted to be realistic.  Also, obtaining an emerald is VERY DIFFICULT.  The only way I know how to get an emerald is to be VERY LUCKY when washing a mystery mineral.  Thus, 60k in my opinion, is the worth of an emerald.  Just my two cents.

      60,000 and four lionbags.

//I have to agree with Ivan. Usually the end price ends up around the
80s at least. And for those who do not have the time to check the forum
ten times a day, it saves a lot of time bidding high at once. And besides,
selling an emerald for 16k would that be allowed? I mean, if you sell a
diamond ring for 15k you get chewed out. I'd say the set price for an
emerald mineral would be about 30k, less for a cut. So bidding less than
20k for an emerald is a plain insult (I do not think that was the
      intention of above bidders).

//Due to the concern over the economy, plus this is something that I've been wanting to do since I created Daren. I would like to take all profits (meaning everything that isn't spent on the wedding next week :) will be put into his bank account as the foundation for a temple of Az'atta he wishes to build much later on as he aproaches epic levels (since Saudria is such a long walk from Blackford :). He has no real desire to buy high level equipment (and really doesn't need it), he crafts, has a house, has a wonderful fiancee, so the money really isn't an issue, and it would be OOC for him to be suddenly rich.

Don't take this as an excuse to bid low though, on the contrary, use this as an opportunity to help the world of Layo.  *reads that thinking he sounds like a telethon ad*

I'll bid 5 diamonds and 50k in gold. Diamonds are valued at over 10k each, by most accounts.

Auction has closed with the Rashar's bid of 100,000 gold pieces being the highest.
