I am a new player (lvl 6 Ranger) and Im now looking to upgrading from plain hickory and copper. Feeling my oats as it were and needing some extra punch as well. I have a suggestion, but first some more backround.
Ive tried and will continue woodcrafting ( and some of its side skills) as it is part of my characters bio. But to be able to upgrade soon there seem to be a few alternatives.
1)Go gold "power gaming" which is dull for me, and eventually leads to too much gold in the economy. It is also not part of what I want my ranger to do.
2)Craft like the devils making me do it. This is not what my character is about.
3)Buy it from someone selling at very low prices which screws up the economy.
4)wait until I either find something on a creature or am around lvl 8 to upgrade.
The suggestion is to send people on "quests" for items I dont want to spend hours collecting. Oddley this idea hit me when I kept advancing in cooking while trying to work on woodcrafting and getting no place. You want a bow? hmm I think I hate making sand paper--bring a box of it and ill make you a bow or something along those lines. You then keep contributing to the roleplaying aspect buy sending people on errends, the economy should not be hurt, people dont have to go wild for gold and everyone needs not be a great crafter. It would also make it less of a pain to sell all my excess craft goods to the pawnshop as I the crafter did not spend 2 days gathering mundane things. Also seems great for person seeking some weapon or armor upgrade. Anyway just a thought and its likely been said before, but if the economy gets screwed up the game gets too out of balance. Seems sort of like what was said a few posts up
Thanks
