Sighting in Hammerbound

Adventurers punishing giants in the Hammerbound Peaks recently stumbled upon a sight at night that caused them to flee the mountains and head to the taverns of Hlint.

Locals calmed them with ale as they stammered out their strange tale.

"We was coming over the ridge of a peak near the main pass and we saw it. A creature clothed in silver, red and grey garments. It glowed but not in a nice way, no sirree. It carried a massive sword that glowed with an evil light and it's face....ye gods, its face....when it turned to look at us we could see it."  He rapidly downs his tankard getting up strength to continue.

"I swear on me mothers grave it was Storan. There was over a score dead giants around him, all twisted and drained of life. It scared the life outta us. Then he laughed and his laughter echoed on the hills around us. Me and me friends, our guts turned to jelly and I dont mind tellin ya we fled, fled all the ay back ere. We could still hear his voice when we was running. 'I'm free', I'm Free', was all he kept sayin. I aint going back there..uh uh...no way in 'ell."

*Wren listens to the tale closely and recalls all he learned about Storan, before asking the speaker some questions*

//Hoping for info from this (http://forums.layonara.com/dragon-storm-campaign/236362-wren-goes-great-library.html#post1678552) to form the questions.

Shocked residents and people living around the circumference of the Hammerbound Peaks awoke this morning to the trembling of the ground. A vibration that rippled from a central source in the Hammerbound Peaks. The entire range was cloaked in heavy storm clouds and lashed with heavy rain and lightning. Rock and mudslides came down in a number of areas, higher up the peaks the giant clans and the dwarves at Lyn suffered as snow avalanches came down on various ranges and valleys.

In the Valley of Storans Tomb the most devastating effects occured. Direct eyewitness accounts speak of a mighty battle of spells and power in the valley. Several black robed figures engaged in a ferocious battle against a huge force of undead led by powerful Necromancers said to be Chaos Cultists. Demons and powerful undead were matched in force and fury by titanic spells of the Al'noth. The eyewitnesses state that the battle continued for several hours before the Black Robed figures finally overcame the last of the Chaos Cultists leaving the valley a charred and smoking, rain sodden mass of blood and bones.

It was not long after this ferocious encounter that Demons appeared in the valley and held it against anyone trying to enter. Rumours have it a powerful dwarven adventurer attempted to enter the valley and was driven back by the demons.

A Unit of soldiers mixed with Shining Hand members dispatched from Fort Last with urgency were forced to take shelter befopre reaching the area due to the massive storms that raged in the mountains quickly flooding lakes and rivers around the range.

Whether this is linked in some way to Storan, the eons old former General, being released or to the presence of the Black Robed Figures, or similar storms that struck northern Mistone several months ago or Northern Dreger several months before that, no one can say. Rumours continue to spread as to what may or may not be going on.

Apparently the Toranites in Fort Last and Lucindites from Blackford Castle are organising an expedition to the area to find out just what is going on.
