So happy, it's taken a long time to reach this moment.  I'm no author so I hope reading this is enjoyable, no guarantees though, heh.  Whoever DM's this, if you wish more clarification on a certain detail please ask via PM.  Though I'd prefer Lia’s past before Layonara not be involved in her ECDQ, if the GM wishes otherwise, I ask that you ask for more information on that part of the story definitely.

Lia Di'makiir
Level: 20
EXP to Level: 10774157 (still a ways to go I know)

Times before Layonara:

Lia was born within a wealthy Elven family of merchants.  She had an older brother, a sister, and one parent.  This is because her mother died while giving birth to her.  Such things are not uncommon in these times, but it still left a hole in some hearts and Lia felt removed.

Once old enough she was sent to a school to learn trade and magic.  Being both attractive and intelligent, she also learned of love and respect and started to believe in herself.  Unfortunately, her newfound jubilation would be short-lived.

She returned home disconsolate when her father called her a whore.  Leaving her family behind, she set out to make a name for herself.  Sailor, merchant, mage; Lia became an adventurer.

Lia joined a group of adventurers seeking a majestic island only known in legend but discovered something else entirely.  A gigantic wall of magic, like pure energy, surrounding as far as the eye can see.  Believing this must be the doorway to the island they pressed forward, but something went wrong.  When they were within 5 nautical miles of the rift, something emerged from it.  A ship, black like a raven and covered in blood.  More emerged from behind, a fleet of horrifying boats.  No turning back, they charged full speed into the rift, taking tons of damage, and fighting what they could in this hopeless journey into the rift.  Mear minutes felt like hours as they fought their way forward nearly touching the rift when suddenly a huge explosion split the boat.

All Lia remembered then is falling overboard into the rift, not knowing what lies beyond or if anyone else made it, or even if she will survive this.  Like in a dream, she appears before a dragon...

New land and a new beginning:

Shortly after her dream, Lia wakes up in Hlint.  At first, she thought she made it, but none on the ship were to be seen, as well as the boat they sailed on.  Despite the loss of her mentor and her old friends, the dream she had given her hope, she felt she had a purpose and a new beginning where no one knew her.  She met and made many friends in this new land.  Some that come to mind are Fadrien and her sworn protector Rannostlin.  Fadrien and Lia became best friends in their travels and Rannostlin had feelings for Lia, unfortunately, when he decided to act upon them and finally showed her how he felt, Lia began to dwell on her dark path with Xandrial and all hope to be with her left.  She also met Quintayne, who was actually one of the first people she met, he showed her around and they talked for quite some time in the inn and became good friends themselves.  They went through many adventures, fighting Ogres near the peaks, exploring the many dungeons, finding anything to do and there were always people asking for help.

There was another Lia met as well, and it was because of this meeting Lia fell into darkness.  Rather suiting for that was who he was, Nathan Birch, in that time he was known as the Prince of Darkness.  Lia first came across him when he was speaking to a drow elf.  Lia knew not what to think at the time for she never saw or even knew what a drow was before then, but she sensed a lot of power between the two, and couldn't help but watch.  Nathen then noticed her, turned around, and walked right to her.  He warned her, a threat that if anything they spoke of reaches anyone else she will regret it.

It's been so long and she can't even remember what was discussed, something about the drow's mother, but Nathens threats took their toll.  Lia felt weak and insecure again, by the power of this wizard she would be rendered useless, and yet for hardly any reason, at least hardly any that she can think of, he threatened her life.  She felt like she was nothing again, so weak and insignificant.  She wished she had the power to throw his words back at him, and she wished it right away.

Shortly after the event and her phase of depression she traveled with a small group heading to Fort Llast.  Suddenly a demon appeared before them...  Scared and in awe of the power before her Lia just stood still looking upon him...  The warrior within the group was not so much in awe though and foolishly tried to engage the beast, who took down the warrior instantly.  Lia fell to her knees and begged for her life, and said that she would do whatever he wishes if he would let her live.  The demon looked down at her and it was like he was reading her mind.  He offered her more than her life, but the power to take down her enemies, and all she hated, all she had to do was become his servant and his power will be hers.  She accepted his offer not knowing the consequence but he let her know right away the path she would tread if she is to follow him.  To prove herself he summoned one of his minions before her and told her that she was to order this servant to kill the rest within her group.  She thought long and hard about it, to have this power and live to use it, to show the prince and all who hurt her a taste of their own medicine, or to die by the hands of the demon if she refuses... the answer seemed simple and she ordered the minion to attack, at first not looking at the massacre but then something happened, something awakened in her... probably of the demons device awakening her darker indulgences so to enjoy the evil she will bring upon the world for him, or it could have been a part of himself, for she began to know things she shouldn't have, the ability to read Florane was one of them.  Another theory was the demon released an ancient spirit and placed it in Lia to control her while she serves.

Whatever happened, one thing was for sure.  That day Lia started to slowly lose her will to fight whatever evil took over her and even though she hid for years to protect herself and her friends, eventually, the evil took over and she reawakened to do the demons bidding.

The three tears, the last remnants of what was good in Lia:

After years of hiding, Lia went back to Hlint and found a lot of new faces, new allies, sheep to manipulate.  Only those who knew her before Xandrial noticed the change in her.  Eventually, the one who got her into this mess, Nathen, became one of her greater allies and they performed a few deeds together.

One of the ones who noticed the change the most and feared Lia and for Lia the most because of it was Lias familiar and best friend Bell, whom with her concerns would refuse to help Lia with whatever evil she would do trying to convince her to stop, for it is not her.  At the same time, Bell would not leave Lia's side though, despite this new disagreement...  This frustrated Lia a lot and Xandrial as well and so he sent another minion of his, an imp named Daos, to become her new familiar and to also ensure that she does Xandrials bidding.  Lia told her pixie to leave her and never return, but Bell would not leave Lia to this imp, so the imp offered to kill this nuisance which Lia agreed and told him that will be his first task to prove himself.  Just before Daos killed Bell, something inside Lia released, perhaps it was the last bit of good within her and she tried to stop the imp, but she was too late thus crying the first of three black tears.  The imp then mentioned the name of her master, Xandrial, and she has work to do for him.

The imp then told Lia of an old book that she must get and use for her master, he only described it to be a black book of demons, and by Xandrials will she will recognize it.  She was informed that Moraken has it as well and later visiting him learned the information was correct.  So for months, she worked with him, trying to seduce the wizard, and eventually succeeded for Moraken told Lia he fell in love with her.  They decided to express that love later that evening and so Lia quickly hired a thief to steal the book while Lia has Moraken occupied.  As soon as the job was done Lia left the tower and while leaving she cried another tear, only thrice since then had she returned to his tower avoiding Moraken now like the plague.

She opened the book and saw that it was covered in strange symbols, scripts she's never seen before, that many have not seen before.  A voice entered her head, the runes are written in a language long lost to those of this world, I cannot teach you the language, but you will be able to read what I deem you can, turn the pages now, there is a ritual you must do for me.  And there she saw the ritual of Strengthening, visible like it was written in common.  The ritual was to connect the two, which Lia believed would grant her the power of the demon, but unfortunately for Lia, it is whoever is more powerful who gets control, and the ritual allowed Xandrial complete control and power over Lia, while Lia gained nothing.  Unknowing of this she got to work... she needed a few items, the ritual had to be done in a great place of magic, which with Nathen she performed in the tower of darkness and she needed the sacrifice of an innocent virgin, which she decided to kidnap a child for, shortly after the ritual began.  With Nathan as her witness she did everything to the book and killed the child in sacrifice to the ritual, once again trying to stop herself she cried her last tear and in the child's death, the demon with now absolute control turned Lia into a vegetable until he needed her for one last thing.

The amulet and the curse:

The demon released Lia briefly to take the shifters amulet for him, Lia was not the only one he manipulated to help him through and half the group that went out to get the amulet for Moraken were actually there to assist Xandrial, in the end, the amulet was in Lia's hands, and just before heading back to Moraken Xandrial appeared before them and Lia proudly gave him the amulet.  Moraken, probably heartbroken at that point, then chased Xandrial to the hells to get it back, both of them losing it.  When Xandrial fled he released all within his control, except Lia.  Perhaps thinking there was still some use for her, or enraged that in the end, he knew she would betray him and try to become the master herself, he decided to bestow a curse on her.  With his new control over her, he freed her will, but repeated in her mind constantly the memory of the harm she's done, of the events that lead to her tears... then when she was broken, he left her in that state and had it so she will not feel another thing again, only the regret for whats shes done, turning into a rage and becoming a vessel only wishing revenge for all harm that is done to her.

Daos disappeared that day and Lia wishes one day to find and kill him for what he's done.  She later gave the book of demons to one of the last metallics in the world at that time, asking her to protect it and that one day Lia will return to reclaim and use it against the demon.  However, Lia learned Xandrial found the dragon first and killed her, and took the book for himself.

She then traveled the world in a new state, a new person.  Insecurity was no longer a problem, but now she became cruel, inconsiderate, unforgiving.  Her anger controlled her for when she had many friends, she now only fueled them with hatred towards her, for what she's become and for some, for what she did to become that.  Lia soon learned that this anger is not a strength like some presumed it to be, but a weakness, a punishment from Xandrial, and it took away her greatest power, perhaps so if she decides to take on the demon she will be on her own.  Lia first thought that if she was to succeed she would have to do it herself and became completely independent, but then she learned, remembered, what could be achieved with friends and allies, but it was too late and the damage was done.  She decided that if she was to complete her task and finally free herself she would have to control her anger.

She spent years trying to control her rage and many things happened to help her succeed, but many things hindered her as well, and she eventually lacked sympathy for the Legendary Obtuse.  Leaving behind Mary Sue, she decided to seek darker allies if she is to achieve what she needs.  Thankfully with great strength of will, Lia did not turn completely evil through all this.

Lia learned in controlling her anger another price would take its toll, and she would begin to forget what it was like back in her homeworld, and in the good times she had on Layonara, and of the other emotions.  When if she gained complete control of her rage all she would remember is Xandrial and all that was done with him, and all that he did to her.  If it were not for one person Lia would have gone back to square one in her attempt to control herself.

Of Lucinda and the Arcana Superior:

Rewind a bit here.  Before Xandrial, shortly after the event with the Prince of Darkness, Lia truly noticed the large book in the Melnon library, known as the Arcana Superior, also known as the book of Lucinda to some.  Though the book in the library was only a copy magically made from the real one Lia looked upon it for years longing for the real thing.  This urge for the book came even further when the demon released her will and placed her under his curse, she hoped with the tome she could discover some secret power to use against the demon, and so hired Triba to steal it for her.  Triba agreed to help Lia and retrieved the book for her, which Lia still has, but through it learned that the book itself is useless and was only a vessel to hold greater power.

Long ago the first grandmasters of the weave decided to place all their knowledge into a single book, but all this knowledge would not fit in a single book, nor did they find it suiting to have all their knowledge be written in a tome, and instead manipulated all their knowledge into a single source of energy that would be stored into the tome.  They hid the tome in a place where they believe one worthy enough to find it will gain this power and absorb all their knowledge.  Unfortunately, a wizard did stumble onto the tome, but he was weak-willed and knew nothing of what he found, and when he opened the book the energy went to him but turned him into a vegetable, no longer able to be his own master he became servent to the power itself, wandering aimlessly answering any question one asked him with unbelievable accuracy, but he could do nothing more than that.  Lia ran into this wizard himself but shrugged him off like he was simply a mad man, only learning of her mistake when she opened the tome herself and learned of its true purpose.  Triba nor Ozy would tell Lia where the man went to after that day.  The only clue she has now to his whereabouts is that Ozy and Triba did talk about bringing him to Morakens tower to ask Moraken what to do about him.

Lia dreaded this, for she still remembers the last time she saw Moraken and knew not what he would do if she came to see him again, especially since once again she seeks him for another source of power.  She braved this though and decided to see him in his tower, with a few others she went looking for him, but he was nowhere to be found.  Clues appeared before her though like she was expected and she followed them, hoping to find her answers alone without Morakens help.  She never expected to find what she did though.  After the last clue, a spyglass started glowing and she looked within it.  Through the spyglass she saw the weave-like strands connecting to all the wizards on Layonara, starting with the strand connecting to her and the wizards with her.  She then saw more strands connecting to all within the land, and uncontrollably followed them up until finally, before her eyes shone Lucinda herself.  For that brief moment, Lia could feel again, so proud she was to be before the goddess, and yet sad as well, for she did not forget the demon.  Lucinda spoke to her, but her voice could not be heard and with a final smile, Lucinda granted Lia the memories she lost due to her attempt to control herself.

Later through Lucinda Lia was granted these gems to allow her to feel again, but Lia later refused them.  She also met her dead familiar and hope to one day join her wherever she sleeps or she will attempt to bring her back.  Lia can't figure out why Lucinda helped her though, she sought many priests and wizards that worship her, as well as those who worship enemy gods to learn what she could of the goddess, and most importantly why did she help Lia of all people.  Lia knows that Lucinda wishes something in return, perhaps it has something to do with the arcana superior.  Whatever the task Lia plans to find out, and has decided to help Lucinda with what she's done for her, but she still doesn't know if she is to worship the goddess.  She still finds it hard to trust anything with such power and she wishes absolute freedom and believes that a priest is not free, but a servant to the gods will.

Cadimus the Fallen and his Sword:

Due to Lia's past crimes, there are some things she just won't stand for anymore, one of which is harming children.  Cadimus was a fallen Celestial who longed to find his way back into his home plane.  Now mortal, he took up the blade and followed the path of an adventuring warrior in hopes of discovering a way back home, but to no avail.  After a long journey, he discovered a ritual that could make him immortal again, it only required the mass sacrifice of children.  Mad with homesickness, he did not think twice about the ritual and abandoned his sword and with it everything that was once good in him.

The ritual did not turn him back into a Celestial as he originally thought, instead, it turned him into a type of demon that possesses the weak-willed.  As long as there is a body he can possess, it is almost impossible to banish him to the pits, but over 100 years ago a group of adventurers successfully did just that.  We learned that this was accomplished by using his old blade which still holds part of his soul and carries his true name within it.  However, like a living being itself, the weapon chooses its wielder.  This time it chose Lia due to her devotion to redeem both herself and the part of Cadimus still within it.

Longing to leave the Pits and return home, the group discovers a cult that worshipped Cadimus and summoned him back into our plane.  The party learns that he believes the ritual failed because there were not enough innocent souls and that he must recreate the ritual in larger detail.  He sent the cult that worshipped him to work, seeking out children to complete his ritual.

We defeated the cult, freed the children, and banished the demon once again, but Lia sometimes wonders if he will find a way to return once again and complete his mad ritual.

The Black Wizards and Demons:

When Lia realized she would have to seek dark allies to assist her in her goals, the first group she came to were the black wizards.  Through a contact of hers (which she used to pass information to them for a nice little reward), she was able to meet the grandmaster and while she desired quid pro quo, he proclaimed her as a new Black Wizard, whether she liked it or not; however, through this chance meeting, she discovered that a female demon was watching her and needed to learn more.  She assisted them with a variety of tasks but found herself in disagreement too often as they served demons themselves when convenient and realized their help would mean losing what was left of her integrity and she was getting no closer to discovering who that female demon was.  She learned that they could no longer help her and she could no longer be one of them.

Path toward the Demon Slayer:

Through her adventures, Lia Learned much about Demonkind.  In particular, she knows of five demon families that work together, some more willingly than others, to achieve their goals for power.  One, in particular, tried to become the most powerful of them all but failed with a group involving Lia's help.  Lia will eventually wish to eliminate/banish all the demons in these five families to help in her path to slay demons.

Lia also recently helped a demon, but it was in the knowledge that if she didn't free the demon from her prison the demon would never die, a fate probably worse than death and banishment from the prime of Layonara, but a fate Lia did not wish for the demon, and neither did those who came to her prison to kill her as well.  So they decided to free her so as to be able to kill her another day.

A wizard amongst thieves:

Lia has become very roguish in nature, her particular practice in magic has helped give her the wit and means to help in such deeds.  Her beauty has shown no hindrance to this as well.  However, there are some skills she lacks or at least lacks well in comparison to rogues.  She however made up for this one fateful day when Quintayne needed her assistance.  To get the information he required he would have to seek those of shady nature to get it, but no one within his group wished to associate with such people, so he asked Lia's assistance to get the information.  Lia agreed to help for she now had plans of her own.  In helping Quintayne Lia helped herself by gaining an in with a thieves guild.

For now, she is just a prosperous client wishing their service and has asked a job of them already, but she of course wishes more and has made that clear.  She's offered to help them in whatever job they do to gain her trust and hopefully in time be a member amongst them.

Freedom at last:

It was finally time to seek Xandrial in his tower.  Moraken has asked a large group to help in regaining the shifters amulet by dealing with Xandrial to claim it.  Lia wished not to deal with Xandrial again and so as many times before, made the decision up to the rest of the party, she however wished to join in this expedition, for she had questions of her own, like who the demonic woman is that she saw.  When they made it to Xandrial he told the group that he will bring them to the plane where the amulet has been taken too, if they can defeat the devil lord of that plane and thus give Xandrial its seat he will give us the amulet, and free Lia.  We succeeded and Lia was finally free.

She was a tad traumatized at first, completely speechless, but eventually, she broke into tears.  It was finally over, the chapter involving Xandrial, at least she hopes, but there is still one last thing she must do. At first, she couldn't control her emotions.  Lia was completely erratic, she would be happy one moment then she would be crying the next, then she would smile again as if nothing happened.  Much like a child, she didn't even realize it until a man tried to woe her and nearly succeeded.  Much like her anger she now tries to get better control of all her emotions and has proven to be very chaotic at times, full of glee, then at times, she showed that rude side of hers, but it tends all those years ago she has become near impervious of the emotion, easily shrugging off things that most would not.

Despite the huge personality change, Lia has not forgotten what was done to her, and the way others acted towards her.  She will no longer waste her time with Scrofulous Legends.  Instead, due to a past she will never wish to repeat, Lia will do what she must to ensure her friends do not meet the same fate she had.

Recently she found the home of the T'oleflor, a major event in the history of the world.  She also used the opportunity to learn more about Xandrial, and how he fell.  To gain more answers she offered the T'oleflor the book she stole for Xandrial, knowing the T'oleflor can read it.  Lia may learn more of the events leading to her curse and even more if she could have someone interpret it fully for her.

In general, Lia is far from good, but she is also not evil, and finds the conflicts between them trivial.  Right now she wishes to show others that she is not an evil person, and she has acted around that for now, doing her darker deeds in the background ensuring to not get caught.  Her ultimate goal is to gain absolute freedom, for much in her life it was taken, and through the powers she seeks she thinks she can achieve it.

Quests: (okay I've done tons of quests, and I doubt I can list them all)

Plot - there are some plot events I missed due to sailing, but I believe I made more than 60% of the events since I joined in Beta 3

CDQ's - Lots of them, here’s what I remember:
- The evil Lia did for Xandrial was all via CDQ
- Lia was somewhat involved in a CDQ theft attempt on the arcana superior (she hired Triba to do the stealing, so most of it was Triba and Ozy)
- An attempt to redeem the crimes of her tears, ended being something bigger with Lucinda
- A quest to indulge on Lia’s darker side, it was just complete and Lia ended helping the evil, to get she wished in the quest, but also in the knowledge that the evil could not be destroyed where it was, despite it was imprisoned.

Cadimus - The GM eventually quit the server so this never got complete, it stopped when Lia finally got the sword and the group freed the children. The five demon families (not real quest name, but can’t remember it) - It was to stop a demon from becoming more than just an ordinary demon, in turn a few of the demon families wished us to interfere, for if he succeeded then the hierarchy of power between the families would shift.

Kobal’s ECDQ

Quintayne’s ECDQ - what little was done in it anyways

A bit of Gotak’s CDQ

Thousand year promise

If I need to mention more please say, I can scour the calendar for more events I was involved in.

Ideas for Lia to become epic:

Arcana Superior and Lucinda - I imagine the events involving Lucinda and the events involving the arcana superior can be connected.  Lia seeks the book, but is she ready for such power yet?  She believes she is now.  Perhaps Lucinda is testing her for that very reason, and will proclaim Lia to be the knowledges protector.

Black book of demons - Lia wishes to regain this book and learn more about it and the events pertaining to it by lending it to the T'oleflor to help her discover it more.  Where this will lead though is unknown.

one of those two mentioned I would like the most, but here are some other ideas:

The black wizards - For Lia’s plan to betray them to fully unfold she will need to complete a few things.  Of course gaining rank to further infiltrate and learn more of their weaknesses would be nice, but Lia also knows in joining them there are a lot of benefits she would lose once leaving them.  Because of this she wishes to find something to gain, steal from the black wizards when the time comes.  Like the secret to the grandmasters great power.

Thieves’ guild - Lia would like to get further with this guild.  Become one of them instead of a customer.  Eventually, she will wish leadership and have a guild of assassins and spies at her disposal.

Demons - perhaps it’s time Lia isn't a self-proclaimed demon slayer but has it become official for all fiends on Layonara and even beyond to know.  Lia will also wish to learn more of this demonic woman who seems interested in her

Cadimus - I doubt he’s gone forever.  The sword still exists, though the soul in it is weak right now.  Is it time for Lia to embrace this part of her destiny?

At first I wanted either Ed or Pankoki to GM the ECDQ, but I also know they are very busy with other quests, so the first available DM will be quite fine.  They aren't ECDQ GM's for nothing and I'm quite confident any one of them will make a cool story and great quest.

okay will probably go to bug reports on this, I'm glad I decided to look at the xp chart, I thought it was alittle odd.  I accually only need 774157 to level.  When I look at my characters statistics in game it says I need 16860000, instead of accually 6860000 to reach the next level.

Approved. Grab a GM that can run epics but keep in mind the long lines of a few as well as the phased time off some are going through.

The xp is not a bug. We put in an extra 10,000,000 at level 20 so you guys/gals do not see the level up screen while waiting for the ecdq to be run. After the ecdq is completed successfully we give you the 10,000,000 and then your ecdq xp reward.
