err wow! no weapons for the clerics? are the clerics that already exist of az'atta grand fathered and still able to use their weapons, or should they stop using them? Which also brings the question, would sacred fist for them be easier to get approved?

Considering we only have 3 active clerics of Az'atta (whom I encourage to read this), I haven't thought about it.

But really, even before these changes, Az'atta wasn't a very martially oriented goddess.

As for Sacred fist, that's not so hard is it?

*grabs the next char concept and throws it away and start working on a new one *

Well, I must say that the changes make sense, it will be hard yes, but is good for RP, since Az'zatta is more on salvation. Good to read this before do any mistake.

Thanks for the update.

It comes to me a system question. So Az'zattan priests are supposed to take the improved unarmed combat feat, no ?

I'll venture a guess here which Ed can confirm or deny when he get's back.

Az'atta isn't really 'supposed' to take any combative skills at all. Certainly unarmed may be more appropriate then most but there's no requirement of any combative skill.

the doubt rised from this part

That is not to say they are not trained to defend themselves or those whom they have promised to protect from the violent and aggressive nature of others. Each hopeful is trained in the way of unarmed combat, usually in the style of the locality the temple exists in

I believe the confusion is born out of the concept that priests are expected to be combatants, an that is a concept we are trying to alter in the long run. Especially with Az'attans, but not solely this group, combat is a last resort when all other options have been exhausted.

yes , that I understand , just wanting to make sure, if the said training is given by the church or by other sources.

It'd be by the church but of course far from the military-like training that's present in the more militant churches like Vorax, Rofirein or Toran.

So they would not be fighting experts.
