Dire Tiger / Legendary Bear Armour

I've always wondered about this... and should really have asked ages ago.

The Dire Tiger leather has a damage resistance of /5

Does this mean it resists the first 5 points of damage from "any" weapon... ie... a +1 +2 or +3 weapon?

And the Legendary Bear Leather... does anyone know or have a link to what properties this gives to the wearer?

Damage Resistance is specified. It's probably 5/- Slashing and yes it takes off 5 damage from any slashing based attack that hits you regardless of weapon enhancement level.

And do you mean this bear armor?

Eh... there are no such property as damage resistance of /5... :p

There are two properties: Resistance and Soaking

Resistance are written like 5/- and only versus a specific type of damage. Say... 5/- vs Slashing or 5/- vs Fire.

Soaking is written 5/+3 or similar and means that it removes 5 physical damage (Slashing, Bludge, Piercing) for weapons that are below +3 (in other words... addy weapons would do 5 less damage while mithril weapons would do damage as usual, if not counting with GMW).

Yup.. sorry.. meant 5/- Slashing resistance.
