Zombie and immunities
« on: January 02, 2008, 10:54:16 am »
Just wondering if the zombie grants all immunities offered to normal undead (sneak attack, criticals and so forth, immunity to death magic) and also gains all vulnerabilities, I couldn't work it out.

Thx
Krell

If you can observe one from a safe distance and the right-click to view the creature, it will allow you to see immunities and other properties.

Actually, Dorax, I think he's referring to the zombie shape offered by the [LORE]Polymorph Self[/LORE] spell wizards and sorc's get.

As for their immunities, I updated the LORE page to reflect the special benefits of each form. If you click the link above, I believe your question will be answered.

Don't think it does, Filatus.

The zombie form has bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage resistance of 10/-. While polymorphed, your character is treated as undead in a few aspects: Harm and Heal have a reversed effect on you and you can be turned by clerics; but you don't receive the typical undead immunities like immunity to critical hit or sneak attack.

Taken from Polymorph self - NWNWiki - a Wikia wiki

If it hasn't been changed drastically, it doesn't have concealment.

Well if my exerpt is correct, then Milty's correction would be wrong too. The form doesn't get immunities according to NWNwiki, so guess you'd have to check to be certain yes.

No immunities, I'm sure of the sneak attack one as I almost died believing that to be true *laughs*.

Huh. I got my info from the Wiki as well. Conflicting info there. So, do we have a consensus? No immunities to all? because I want the info on LORE o be correct, so as soon as I know for sure, I'll get it fixed.

I don't know if that is *correct* according pen and paper DnD cause normally a zombie form *is* immune but also iirc you can't turn into a zombie with polymorph, but it seems weird to be a zombie that can be poisoned for example, the form itself is reasonably weak.

Zombie needs brains.  Braaaains.

*loud slurping noises*

Maybe a light vampiric function to represent cannibalizing opponents while alive.

Hello,

I had a question about Zombie form.  I was in Red lights Cave and I was in Polymorph Zombie form and I only recieved 5/- damage resistance, not the 10/- as lore and wiki say it gets.  I also had ghostly vissage on so I got another 5/- for damage reduction.  So, I took the Ghostly off to see if I got the full 10/-, and NO... it still only gave me 5/-.  Please explain how this works

Ps: I'm an 8th level wizard
