Adding new recipes

Just an idea for adding new recipes to the system.

These should by done crafters as CDQs or GCDQs and would allow the addition of new recipes.

The individuals should sit down with the GM and discuss what they are attempting to produce. The GM team then dcide if this item is possible and give the item the theoretical approval.

The CDQ is then run. the purpose of this CDQ is to try and produce the item. It will take lots of monet (50 times the lens price of the finished item?) and lots of materials (50 times the required materials?) then based upon the crafters skill levels in the required crafts, amount of investigation etc there is a chance that the PC will discover how to make the item.

The item is placed into the module and the CNR at the next update. However one of the required items for the crafting of the item should be 'Secret Recipe Card' which the GM will give to the PC upon successful completion of the CDQ. The 'Secret Recipe Card' is placed in the crafting device and upon crafting is returned to the PC.

After six months the 'Secret Recipe Card' is removed from the crafting requirements and anyone with the ability can make the item

Something very similar to this has been suggested in the past, actually. I think it's still being considered for some future date, but it's fairly low on the priority scheme.
