Cannot write in purple ink

Description: Using a quill on purple ink gives the proper message.  Writing text in it, though, does not work (no messages and no text).

To reproduce:  Buy long parchment, use quill on purple ink, use quill on parchment, type ~some purple text.

Have you tried using the ~~ command while using purple ink?
