Using invalid character module makes one loose custom items...
« on: November 22, 2005, 11:17:00 am »
I lost many custom Layo items when I used the invalid character module to unequip my armour so that I could log into the server. That means all resistances, enchantments, target healing kits/potions, silver enhancements...

The only thing I did was to log onto 64.127.106.68 :5122, then take off my armour and log out. I immediately logged onto West and discovered that the items were gone.

Gonna make a list while I remember it.

Correction, the silver enhancements are not gone.

Whats gone is (most of it):

Cold res II
Fire, Cold, Elec rods IV
All weapon molds (small, medium, large)
Dispelling focus
100+ target cure moderate healing potions
Ship tickets
Showels, Heavy picks + other non-finished CNR

... and a lot of other things.

Would it be possible to get the a previously saved character back into the module instead? That would save a lot of time. I tried to log into game around 7.10 pm GMT and could not due to my unidentified armour. I was in game earlier today and logged out around 4.30 pm GMT - that should be the time I logged out wearing an unidentified armour.

Harlas,
I have a backup character for Kobal dated today at 7:30pm GMT.  I'm guessing that's too late and may be missing your stuff just like your active copy, dated today at 7:33pm GMT. Best I can do beyond that is August.
I can try to swap in your backup character if you wish.

August. Thats a long time ago.

Make the swap then. Although I am pretty sure its the character missing all the items. Any idea why this happened? Some custom items stay, while others disappear.

Harlas, give me a few to fix the invalid character module and then I will work on Kobal with you.

Good thing we back up the servervault and stuff every night. :)
I have your character restoring now.  But before I overwrite your current character I need you to let me know that is okay.
The last saved date/time on Kobal is 11/21/2005 at 3:28pm.  That would have been the last time you logged on yesterday.  Is it okay for me to restore that character?  If so, please make sure you are not logged in.

Harlas, your character has been restored.  Please give it 5-10 minutes to sync up and try again.  Sorry for all of the problems.  The invalid character module should also be fixed so this problem will not happen again.  *crosses fingers*
