Bit of help for Awards
« on: June 14, 2006, 09:28:03 am »
Yes yes yes, it's that time of the year again. Time for "ZeroVega's Second Anual RP Awards!" I have several categories that I'll be using in this year's award cerimonies but I'm open to any that you folks can come up with... I only have so much creativity juice. So PM me what categories you'd like to see and if you have a suggestion for who should win what let me know.
  Ta-ta!

Do you have a link to last years?  I'd like to see that.

Offhand I'd like to see best Dev thread, best RP'd in game couple, best new RPer (under level 8 say)....that sort of thing.

I'd say have a category for each class for Best RPer... Then a Best Subrace Player... An overall Best RPer would rock, too.

Best swashbuckling dwarven sailor with an eye patch and a first name starting with K award?  *checks the LORE database for a moment*.... and having the second letter in the first name an 'e'... that ought to do it.

What are the prizes anyhow?  :o

Not that into these, but this is certainly a good community for it.

- Most Comedic Character Award
- Most Confusing Dialect Award
- Best Loner Award
- Best OTO Historian Award*
- Most Misinformed Historian Award
- Best Dressed Award
- Worst Dressed Award
- Lucky Bugger Award
- Poor Sod Award
- Best Death Scream Award
- Greedy Looter Award**

Ideally we follow the modern university way and make sure everyone gets an award.

*OTO: other then ozy
**Preferably backed up by server logs as we reveal the top ten thieves

You all have good idea's but I think your forgetting something.
I was thinking of including the gm's/dm's. With catagories like:
- Best GM/DM
- Best made and run CDQ and/or serie.

just an idea but I think these guys in the team can use some kind off reward to.
and perhapes there can be somekind off poll created for the catagories. That is if it is for Layonara only but I'm not sure couldn't find it in the rest of the post.

Bah... best GM... who cares about those???  As far as true value added, the Best Death Scream Award carries a lot more weight.  Let's not fool ourselves.

I could not vote for best gm, having such a limited time means I havent really been able to do enough to make a valid vote. How many really know enough to vote on best CDQ?  Best Development Thread, now that can done.

Remember folks, this is my own opinion; thus it will be a very narrow view of Layonara. Half of the answers I pull out of my wazoo knowing full well that there's a better choice out there. It in no way reflects the feelings of the players or GMs of Layonara, it's simply something for me to do during the day and a way to entertain my self if I have a few minutes to work. That said there will NOT be an overall Best GM category OR overall Best RPer. Thank you.

I just had an idea. Why not have a poll for each award. That way poeple can add the ones they think should be added to the poll and give there point to it.
    What do you think?

Unfortunatly I can't find the link, I think the thread was deleted. I have about 50 categories thus far so keep em coming and I'll either poll you on which categories should be added or I'll put em all in.
