the hands changes you hands to look more like hands.
The colored spells- changes the spell icons to different colors. not sure which colors. Like orange for firebased and blue for something. Orth had made a post once with a screen capture showing this. Was pretty cool.
The Colored class, well not sure.
The colored feats/ probally like the colored spells but changes your feats.
I know, not a lot of help. Sorry

They are client side overrides that you can use while playing NWN. They affect how things look for you, but not how they look for everyone else.

I actually enjoy the color override, rather than having everything the same drab color, they are all lumped up into categories, and it actually makes it easier when working your hotkeys faster.
If you are in the middle of a battle, is it simpler to look for a certain shaped spell icon in a general area on the toolbar, or maybe a certain color instead helping you decern quicker cuz it catches your eye?
But in the end, it is all down to personal preference and customization.

I didn't realize how used to the color overrides I had gotten until I was having some severe NWN problems and was experimenting with clean overrides and all that... "What spell is this, they're all the same color, AAHH."
So yeah, I use that one too. Easy noticing.
As Talan said they go in your override folder, which means they are your personal tweaks rather than haks for everyone playing in the world. Use them, don't use them, all to your preference.

Make sure all the files are in your Override directory and not, perhaps, in a an accidentally created sub directory. I've used these on both Linux and Windows systems.

I've been using those for over a year, pretty cool. The hands could use a little resizing though, but beside that they give a little cachet to the game.

If you cant the icons to work for you, you might need to do the workaround as I explained
here
.
You can add more than one iconfile to your hakpak, like the entire override icons that you already downloaded. If you need some help, let me know.

Hands = Reshapes your client-side hand-models to have fingers etcetera, although the fingers are inanimate, it still looks pretty nice compared to the fist model. The hands override does not seem to work with the large phenotype (ie the fat characters), probably because they use a different hand model.
Spell Icons = Changes your client-side spell icons to have colour, I think it is spell school based, blueish-gray for illusion, red / yellow for evocation, green for abjuration etc. Although there is likely to be variance by spell caster classes
Class Icons = Changes the colouring of your character class icons, client-side of course.
Coloured Feats & Abilities = The same as Class Icons, except for the feats and abilities etc.
The files go to your nwn-root directory's subdirectory named override. "example: C:\\NWN\\override", "C:\\NWN" being the directory you installed Neverwinter Nights into.
They won't work if they are in a subdirectory of "C:\\NWN\\override", as will not any other override files. So make sure to copy them from the subdirectory, if there is one, to the override directory.
Linux users should of course run ./fixinstall in their nwn directory after unpacking the files and making sure they are in their correct path, in order to make the filenames lower-case.
Hope this helps

Recommend using the updated
"Hands Version 1.5"
rather than the one in the link above.
And just for fun

For all of you who have been wondering why You can not choose the head model of say... Gandalf etc when others could, here's the CEP 2 Heads override, compatible with Layo
CEP 2 Heads -- Neverwinter Nights 2 Vault

I use this:
The Full Kitandkaboodle
Before finding this I always wondered why akata's HP bar was blue in his screenshots.
It's a nice change of pace after seeing the same thing for edging darn near a decade.

I used it too for a time, but it was getting hard to tell the health status since the bar doesn't go down it just scales down with different colors for each steps. The rest though I loved. If i could find a way to disable the scaling of the health bar I would use it again.
