Finding a portrait
« on: June 05, 2005, 11:14:00 am »
I'm not sure if I'll get a response from this but it seems they've changed the bioware site around since last I checked.  I'm looking for the portrait shown in my avator of the wood elf but I just can't seem to find it.  If anyone has an idea where I could locate this particular portrait I'd really appreciate it.

Did you try and browse for images? Use Google or your favorite search engine.

I searched for it out of curiosity, and found it, i guess.

http://images.google.pt/images?hl=pt-PT&lr=&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&q=neverwinter+wood+elf&btnG=Pesquisar

Not sure if it'll work, if you want i can download the pic and send it to you. ;)

I see the link and thanks for finding it.  Unfortunately when I click the link to download I get "Error Page not found" - there used to be a time when I could just go right to the bioware site and skim though the portraits...they've changed the site so now I seems I can't.  If you can find it and download it that'd be wonderful.

Or even if anyone knows how to take the portrait and convert it to NWN format that'd be great too.

Put the file in your NWN/portraits folder. Then jump in game and type the following console command. (Bring the console with the ~ button)
  ConvertPortrait name-of-file
Then it will convert the image to all the little nwn files and voila.

Okay i'm not very good with this stuff, do I just right click on the picture, save as some name, then insert it into the portraits folder, then do the ingame command or is it more complicated?  Seems I can only save as a JPEG, I don't have the paint shop pro which all the other portraits seem to be saved as - i'd rather not have to go and purchase it either - my free trial period expired.
