Gaining a God in game Q

I have a PC Max who as no God
His intaresting to me as I would like him to gain hes Faith in game by talking to other PS's and seeing what they do, then from that devoting him self to a god hr feels best fits his world view

My Q is in game how dos one go about this with the PC disription (at the moment under god he has "Not as yet")

After deciding which god your character will follow and once you're ready, you can ask a GM to change your deity ingame.

Oh...and your RP needs to support this change as well.  Keeping a journal under Character Development would be nice, too.
