I only have 8 strength it fit **laughs** it fit with the backstory but the drawback is I can't carry anything really, I do try as a consequence to spread spells out across combats as best I can whilst saving something for a pinch

Well here is the perspective of someone who has a multiclassed char with a mix of wizard in it.

I think it's one thing to make your char as it is and live with who he is and one thing to go and tell people how they should react to the fact you created your char this way.

Most parties that I have been on, will consider the spell caster ability and offer the rest when needed. So maybe I find a thread like this a bit unjust for the majority of people that does that. eh!

But the fact remain that your char as a entity has to adapt to all kind of different situation and if he is part of a party that mostly consist of fighter, he will have to keep pace if he is expected to survive. Now wither or not your persona takes the decision to keep going when he has the opportunity to rest, or to keep traveling with them on a later date, that is entirely through rp and his decision.

Now maybe the tells you got were more of a concern of you grinding if you just stood there and did nothing while the others were killing things? Not saying you were, but its hard to know what other people are thinking when you are not in the head of that person,. And so for them, and also for Gm's alike; who would just happen to pass by, this is something they might interpret your actions as being. I'm sorry to say that it's both the player and the one that was with him fault, if he is grinding. So people will take action to avoid that with tells, so they do not get into trouble themselves.

There is many thing you can buy that will boost your strength if you need it,and things to help with the little strength you have like bags for instance. And managing your inventory will not only be a good thing as a spell caster with low strength, but would also help with the loading lag. If you can't carry the heavy crossbow, take the light one. Bolts weight nothing. And wands in a bag almost nothing. If you need your rings for your spells or ability stat, then use gloves and there is belts that you can buy (dropable) that helps with strength too.

So my suggestion her is this, before trying to expose what you think other people should do, which can be met with some reticences, try to do the maximum you can do on your side of things before hand.
