You are asking for a way to see if any quests are going on while you are playing. Am I understanding you correctly?

You can always check the calendar for events. Even though you are not signed up for an event, and 20 people have signed up for a 10 people max event, feel free to come to the starting place since many times only 50% of the people show up to quests.

Well, this has been brought up before, and my best advice is this:
Unless the GM who's running the event has specifically stated that there's a sign-up limit (not a party limit, that's different) or otherwise assigns special circumstances to quest participation, I would say to just sign up when you know your schedule and then show up at quest time, even if the number of people signed up is already greater than the party limit that the GM has posted.
Now, since most GMs have party size limits, a few things may happen: * You'll show up and half the people who signed up won't show up.  This happens fairly frequently. * You'll show up and there will be some sort of raffle or lottery for quest participation.  This is no guarantee, but it's a fighting chance at least. * The GM will accept the group's size, even if it may be a bit larger than originally requested.
So don't be turned away simply by the number of people already signed up.

Yeah, *points up* what they said.

I think for the first couple months I was here, I either didn't know you could sign up for quests, or didn't know that you should heh.  A lot of the quests I go on, don't really think I can say most anymore since I've been signing up first more often lately, anyway, a lot of the quests I've gone on, I either, just showed up for, or just stumbled into not even knowing there was a quest going on.

Heh, I was wonder about this same thing myself.  Though I have two reasons for not signing up for any GM-ran quests.  My main one is the same reason that NEXUS7 has.  During the week I just don't have the time I'd like to commit myself to a quest, and I would hate to sign up for one and not be able to make it.  Weekends are free-game, but my other reason has stopped me from sighing up any of my characters.  When I'm reading about a quest the GM running they doesn't give enough information about the quest for me to judge if my characters would be interested/willing risk their necks to do it, or if the quest fits with thier personalities that I role-play.  I know that I could probably just show up anyways and find out through role-playing if it would fit into something that my characters would do but I wouldn't want to waste anyones time just to find out.  I think this stems from the fact that I see all the quests I've read about are aimed for good-aligned characters and I don't play good characters.
