Druids and weapons
« on: February 04, 2006, 09:30:23 am »
I just wondered what weapon properties are merged with the animal shape in Layo, when a druid transforms to an animal. I have just bought a +1 sickle and there doesn't seem to be anything merged unless its maybe the +1 to bypass some damage reduction, which to be honest is the reason I bought it.
Could someone just confirm this, if you know that is :)

Sorry about the delayed response.  I've been away with a pretty nasy illness.  I've been mistaken about such technical things in the past, but I'm pretty sure that all the nifty weapon properties are "merged" into the druidic forms.  That would include the +1, +2, or +3 as well as any sort of elemental enhancements which are on the weapon.

Hope that helps.

If a dwarf bent a longsword over his knee to have a curve and convinced a druid that it was really a scimitar, would the handle of the blade erupt in the druid's hand and cause him excrutiating oath-damage?

Furthermore, being made of metal, what exactly distinguishes a curved sword from a straight one in light of druidic oaths?  Are swords in fact naturally curvy in the wilds, becoming civilized when straightened out flat?
