Crafting Skills at level up

Does alocating skill points to the crafting skills when leveling up affect your crafting skills on Layonara?  I hope so otherwise I just wasted a valuable skill point.

Unfortunately it doesn't, the craft system in NWN is completely separate from the CNR.  However, if you put points in "Craft Armor" or "Craft Weapon" you can modifiy the appearance of armors/weapons easier (especially the high end weapons/armors)

Layonara does not use the craft skills, craft trap, craft armor, craft weapon.... etc.. at least not to actually craft such things.


Craft Weapon and Craft Armor have a use they help you to succeed in changing the appearance of your armor and weapons.


Crafting is Stat based.  Example your level as a crafter, your Dexterity, and your Strength determine your % to make things in Woodworking, and most of the metal crafts.


Dexterity and Charisma - Gem crafting...


and so on.



This topic has been answered a few times before. If you feel your points are wasted I'd say post in the greivance section... worst case they say no and your where you are now.

Don't feel bad, I put a load of points on those skills (7 I think) before I realised they weren't a great deal of help

it would be interesting to have a char with craft armor stats and have others come to them to make armor. I see some really cool outfits. I try and try but it takes time and I am not that good at it. not armor actually but outfits. hmmmm...starts thinking...

Some people have done that in the past, made characters that offered their skills in altering armors and weapons.

Id advise anyone who does this to make sure the character you create can wear as many types of armor as possible, light, medium, heavy etc.... and proficient in as many weapon classes as possible including Exotic.


I would think if a person really applied themselves it would lead to some fun RP and even money making deal.
