    A question about characters.
    « on: August 02, 2005, 07:08:00 pm »
I just recently registered to the forums, hopefully soon to register a character that will be approved, and was hoping to find an answer to a question. Upon reading through the many helpful documents, and posts I was left a bit lost on a subject. While reading through the advanced character submission guide I was informed that there are restrictions on the multi-classing of paladins/clerics/druids and some of the other more spiritually atuned classes. My question is, would it be acceptable to have a character with equal levels of monk and druid, alternating between them every level. IE +1 monk, +1 druid, +1 monk, so on and so forth, if I intended to roleplay the character as a defender of the balance of nature, who uses his body, along with the bodies of animals to accomplish this.

I was unsure of which forum this should be posted in, so I decided to err on the side of safety and post in a more general forum.

This would not be allowed I think. From the advanced char subbimision guide:

There's a restriction with multi-classing of druids, monks and paladins. A character may change from/to any of the above, but once you leave the path of the above, you are never allowed to return to it.
So basically, you have to take all monk lvls together and all druid lvls together. Once your char switchs from monk, he can't take another monk lvl (same with druids).

If you just want a treehugging monk (using his body alone and not the druid spells), you could just make him a worshipper of Katia and maybe request an ear for animal language, if that would be at all possible and if it it fits in with that character concept... but I don't really know about that either. Eh.

Edit: Again I don't know if you can really request that, plus there would be no animal empathy. But. You know.

Thank you for the timely reply, I'll have to think of a different way to develop my character then.
