Hi

Just need to be sure about something so here goes.
I am playing a half-elf and last night I meet some elves, who used some item to speek elven.
In normal dialog window it was giberis representing the elven language, but in the combat window it was plain "english"
I figured this means I understand the language, as I am half-elf. Correct?
Am I suppossed to have an item in my inventory so I can speak elven as well?
I did have an elven mother.
I am thinking I may have lost the item when i left the starting area playing for the first time.

Half elves can understand the elven language, but are unable to speak it unless it is part of their backgound or learned in game through significant role playing. If you feel your character should be able to speak elven by nature of his/her backgound please re-submittthe character for approval of an "elven ear" which will allow you to use the language in game.
