Need help with a compression program,

I need a compression utility. I have been using winrar, but I can't seem to figure out how to make it zip things as a self extracting file.

If winrar can, and you know how, tell me please, if it cannot can someone offer an alternative?

winrar can ... but I guess you'll not own the german version if I'm right but you can choose the selfextract-option somewhere..
maybe this screenshot will help you..
right-click a file ->add to archive ->then you should get such a screen:
